Well, we finally get to see what happens to Ash now?

Tmp - Well, this was originally intended to be a spin-off of Dragon's Love, without Red actually confronting Lance. He doesn't know that Lance is a girl yet, and its not mentioned unless I get begged to write a sequel. Yellow is not in this story, she is only mentioned in passing. And… why aren't you reading CCA? - Just curious

Episode 9: Indigo League Champion, here I come!
“Venus, razor leaf!”
“And Jonathan's Onix has just collapsed under the assault of Ketchum's Venusaur!” The announcer shouted. “Ash wins this match! One more win and he will be eligible to challenge the Elite Four for the title of grand champion!”
The stadium ran with cheers.
“I'm so proud of my baby boy!” Delia said, with waterfall tears running out of her eyes.
“Now, now.” Professor Oak said. * Ash is doing pretty well, though. Even I didn't expect him to get this far… *
Misty smiled. “Well, I hope he wins!”

Meanwhile… finally, we get to see what Ash is doing.
Ash and Pikachu wandered around. They were in some type of grassland.
“Hey Red! What are you doing out there?” A voice called. “Blaine called you for an appointment, remember?”
Ash froze. “Gary?”
Blue ran up. “Come on! It's not like you to be so forgetful. You can take Aerodactyl and I'll take Charizard. Let's go!”
“Gary, what are you talking about?”
“Red, this is no time to be funny!” Blue said indignantly. “As The pokemon League Champion you can't miss this meeting.”
“Wait a minute!” Ash said. “I'm not this Red person!”
Blue dropped his arm. “Oh. Wait, you're right. You're not. Red is taller than you, and he doesn't have such a weak-looking pikachu.”
Pikachu looked offended and tried to shock Blue, but he moved out of the way too fast.
“Yep, definitely not Red. Red would already have me pinned or something.” Blue said in disgust. “Who are you anyways? Trying to masquerade as him.”
“I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!” Ash said proudly.
“No way.” Blue said. “You kind of resemble Red, but you're not him. I know! It must be the interdimensional problem. Here, come with me!” And with that, Blue summoned Charizard, threw Ash on its back, and streaked towards Cinnabar Volcano.

“Interesting…” Blaine mused. “You seem to be Red's counterpart from a dimension three dimensions away from ours. Fortunately, this problem is easily correctable.”
“How?” Ash asked.
“Do you have any psychic-type, ghost-type, or dark-type pokemon?”
“No…”
Blaine frowned. “Do you have any pokemon that know Teleport? If you can Teleport back into your correct dimension, then Red will be flung back here.”
“No…”
“What pokemon do you have?”
“Um… Charizard, Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Kingler, Pidgeotto…”
Both Blue and Blaine sweatdropped. “That's it?”
“Yes.”
“I have an idea, Blaine.” Blue said. “Red has his pokédex with him, right? So if Green and I put ours close to each other and wait for his to react, we can hone in on his pokédex signal and figure out some way to bring him back!”
“Good thinking, Blue.” Blaine said approvingly.
“Okay, I'll call Green.” Blue said, pulling out his cell phone and getting ready to call.
“Hi, you have reached Green.” Green said.
“Green? It's about Red.”
“Is he in trouble?” Green asked.
“Yes.”
“Say no more! I'll be there in a second. Jigglypuff, go! Where are you?” Green asked as she climbed on Jigglypuff and left her house.
“Cinnabar Island.”
“Okay! I'll be there in five minutes.”
Green landed. “Okay, I'm here!” She said. Her pokédex was in one gloved hand. Ash's eyes bugged out as he looked at her.
Blue whapped him. “You pervert!”
Green shrugged. “Okay, Blue, let's try it.” Their pokédexes began beeping furiously as they reacted from the shared link.
Mewtwo copied the power signature from the electronic devices and began circulating it through the dimensional vortexes. Blaine watched anxiously. * Red, I hope you're all right… *

Back in the animation pokéverse…

“BEEP!”
Red stared at his pokédex, which had begun frantically trilling.
“Ash, what's wrong with your pokédex?” Delia asked. “Professor Oak! Could you come here for a minute?”
“Sure.” Oak said. He took Red's pokédex from him, before he could react.
“No!” Red said. “Don't!”
Oak flipped it open. “Wait - what?!” He stared at the pokédex in disbelief. “Pokemon seen - 231? Pokemon owned - 132?”
Red looked sheepish. “Um… shoot. How do I explain this?”
Ten minutes later…
“I am Ash, just not the Ash you know.” Red explained patiently.
“Oh, my poor baby.” Delia said, hugging Red even though he wasn't `her' Ash. “Losing your parents at such an early age!”
“Your pokédex is still beeping.” Oak said.
“I know.” Red said as he turned it on. Blaine's face appeared on the screen.
“Red! Thank goodness! We've been trying to locate you! Do you have any psychic, dark, or ghost types with you?”
“Um… let me check.” Red said.
“Would Butterfree or Venomoth work?”
“Sorry.” Blaine said. Just then, someone appeared from behind him. It was a girl with long black hair, with an Espeon next to her.
“Red, this is a timeline shift! If you try to disrupt it, you know what happens! The timelines will heal themselves in a few weeks!” She said.
“Gotcha, Char.” Red said. “Sorry, Blaine. You heard what she said.”
“However, I can send Ash back to his dimension. But Red will have to stay there until it is time for him to return.”

Blaine nodded. In an instant, Ash vanished and reappeared on top of Misty.
“Ash!” Misty said, hugging him.
Ash looked a bit shocked, but hugged her back.
“Red, what am I going to tell the press?” Blue asked.
“Tell them I'm doing solo training, they'll buy it. Stand in for me until I come back.” Red said. “You were second place, after all.”
“All right, Red.” Blue said. “Bye! Take care of yourself!”
“Just a second.” Blaine said. “Red, I'll be sending you a couple of things via pokédex, before you come back.”
“Okay.”

After a few minutes, a shiny black suitcase appeared in front of Red. “That's it.” Blaine said. * I think that's everything… *
“Don't think I'll be able to call again until Mewtwo rejuvenates.”
“I know.” Red said. “Bye, Blaine!” He hung up.

“So, what's happened?” Ash asked.
Red shrugged. “Well, one more match and I'll be Indigo League Champion. Or actually, `you'll' be Indigo League Champion, because I've been masquerading as you.”
“Cool!” Ash said, eyes lighting up. “Indigo League champ, here I come!”
Red sighed. * I just hope he doesn't totally blow this chance… *

The next day…

Ash looked nervous. “What am I going to do?”
“What?” Misty asked.
“I've watched all the tapes of Red's battles. He's good! I'm not sure if I can do it…” Ash shivered. * Besides, look at his pokédex completion! *
“You want him to stand in as you again?” Misty asked incredulously. “Ash, that's selfish!”
“I know! But what can I do?”
“You can just do your best and hope that you win.” A voice said. Red stood there, his black hair now dyed a dark red color. “I've been offered Agatha's position on the Elite Four, and I think I'm going to take it.”
Ash gulped.

End Episode 9! Yes, I know that's totally unfair that Ash just steps in with almost everything done for him. Poor Red! *Sobs*
