Blood

Another short from me. This one is Kenshin's POV during the war.


Look at that shine.

--A blade flies about, causing a moving light. This light
destroys any unfortunate enough to be hit by it.

The shine is gone.

--Once more, men fall.

The blade... it's so dark. The blade... tainted... ruined as is
my soul.

--And more as their lives end.

Look at them... look at the life erupting.

--A ring of men fall, cut open or at loss of limbs.

From one's neck... from another's waist.

--Yet another loses his life to the light.

It flows. Quickly... at least it was a fast death. So painless is
swift death... as mine will not be.

--Down goes another, his life draining.

Another brother or father lost to someone. What am I?

--The blade shatters and a soldier dies.

The shine is forever gone. Tainted by blood.
