"This of course is merely what I know," Luna clarified as she
curled herself into a ball.

Ami scratched her head before replying, "So? I still don't
see how she was greedy. She did everything she could." Ami, with
the help of Minako, managed to set up a system of translation after
the rest of the inner senshi had gotten to the Yoshiyuki apartment.

"If she hadn't argued," Luna yawned, "She'd have been there
a lot sooner."

"And that's somehow supposed make her greedy?"

"She stayed with her lover instead of departing as soon as
possible. She had to have known that if she failed, her lover would
vanish as well."

Kathrine blinked and shyly raised her hand. Usagi laughed
a bit but bid her speak. "So... I'm a... lesbian?" blushed Kathrine
as she turned her head towards her lap.

Ami frowned momentarialy and said, "Well, as I understand
reincarnation, you are only what you choose to be. You don't have to
be the same person you were, but some of your innate knowledge might
push you towards the person you were. Besides, two other senshi are
homosexual."

Kathrine looked up at Ami, her jade eyes wide. "Really? And
they don't get teased or beat up or stuff?"

Makoto chuckled before responding, "Haruka? Beat up? She'd
take on the entire school, and she'd win. In fact, now that you're in
our ranks, I suggest a meeting between you and Haruka and Michiru."

"Hey, that's a great idea!" agreed Minako.

The group got up and made plans as they walked.

Makoto knocked gently on the door and was met with a grumble
from the blonde who opened the door. "Oh, hello, Makoto, what a
pleasent surprise. Do come in and make yourselves at home," motioned
Haruka sarcastically. To her dismay, the group of girls did just that.

A green haired woman lay on the couch watching something on
the television as the group of girls came tromping in. "Hello," she
said as they turned to her. "How are you, girls? I trust there have
been no attacks..." Her gaze fell upon Kathrine. "Oh, we have a new
person here? Would someone mind introducing her?"

"Her name is Kathrine, and, as you have probably guessed,
she's a senshi."

"Oh," yawned Haruka, clearly uninterested, "That's nice."

Michiru, the green haired occupant of the sofa, cocked her
head to one side and smirked at Haruka. "Come now, stop teasing our
guests." She winked. "There's enough time for teasing later."

Ami and Kathrine blushed at the remark while the other four
girls chuckled. Haruka's mouth thinned into a predatory smile and she
replied, "I'm going to remind you of that statement later."

"Of that," answered Michiru, "I have little doubt."

"Well, then," stated Haruka as she sat down on the couch
next to Michiru, "Our friends should be leaving." She turned and
the faces were still there as she turned back to them. "Now."

Quickly filing out the apartment door, the girls all sat
down on the curb of the apartment complex's parking lot. "So,"
Minako said in english as she put her chin in her hands, "What do we
do now?"

"Well, if Setsuna were around it would be a good idea to
introduce Kathrine to her," replied Ami, "but somehow I'd doubt she
doesn't already know every little thing."

Makoto nodded, "Right, she's probably known all along." She
stood up. "Since this expedition was my idea, I might as well try to
think of somewhere we might go to." After a moment of intense
concetration she had an idea. "Hey, Kath?"

"Hmm," mumbled the still sitting brunette. "What?"

"Have you ever heard of the Crown?"

The sitting girl scrunched her facial features in thought.
"No," answered the girl, "I don't think I have. Why, what is it?"

"It's a restaurant," came Minako's voice from her left side.
"We hang out there quite often. Since you have never been there
Mako-chan was suggesting we might go there and hang out."

Kathrine smiled. "That'll be great. I'm famished anyway.
They got milkshakes?"

"The best in all Japan," replied Makoto.

"Let's go!" encouraged Kathrine as she jumped up.

"RIGHT!" agreed the others.

The girls walked through the double doors of the crown.
Kathrine noted it looked like all diners, though this one seeemed to
have a few more colors to it. The group sat in its usual booth. A
raven haired waitress came up to the group.

"Whaddya what?"

Kathrine looked at the menu and turned to the waitress. "Yes,
I'll have the..." Memories hit her with the force of Tokyo's bullet
train. She knew this girl, from very early in her past. No, that
couldn't have been right. She looked the same. "...ham and cheese
sandwhich. Say, do I know you from somewhere?"

"You don't look familiar, but if you hang out with this
group, we've probably met." She gazed intently on the brunette below
her. "On second thought... Something about does seem to ring a bell,
but why I can't be sure. Let me take the rest of the orders and we'll
talk some more."

The rest of the group gave their orders to the waitress and
she hustled back and yelled at some guy named Suke. He came out
and yelled back at the waitress. His yellow eyes seemed extremely
familiar, but she dissmissed the feelings as quickly as they came up.
When did she ever know anyone with yellow eyes outside of Data from
Star Trek? He was, of course, entirely fictional anyway. Suke's eyes
must be contacts, she assured herself.

Suke tossed her a tray of stuff and she scooped it into her
palm after sticking her tongue at him. She sauntered past the
manager who gave her a funny look. She ignored the look and took the
tray over to the table at which the group was sitting at. "Nevermind
Suke, the man's an idiot."

"I AM AN ARTIST!" yelled Suke, his chef's hat falling too one
side, looking as if it protrayed his deflating ego. "Don't listen to
that stupid serving wench, girls. She only serves the food. I, I
*create* the delicacies."

"This is the Crown," commented the waitress as she handed
out the orders. "Not the Chez Francais!"

"Bah!" huffed Suke, who turned on a heel and headed back to
the crown's kitchen mumbling about stupid girls who didn't appreciate
the culinary art form.

"Now," said the waitress to the brunette close to her,
speaking lightly accented English. "You say you know me?"

Kathrine frowned and looked up as she replied, "Well, you
certainly seem familiar. My name is Kathrine Callahan, what's your
name?"

"Mine? I'm Kazuo Morimoto. Say, do you go to the 10th Street
Junior High?"

"Yea, I just transfered there."

"That'd explain the company," Kazuo gestured at the other
girls busily gulping and talking their food down. "And it might also
explain why you think you know me. My niece, Nagiko Morimoto, goes
to 10th Street. Despite her untraditional violet hair, people tend
to say we look alike."

Kathrine furrowed her brow and scratched her head. "No,"
she said after a moment of thought, "I'd have remembered violet hair,
and so I don't think that's the reason you look familiar."

Kazuo shrugged and went to turn away when Kathrine's voice
stopped her. "Say," said the brunette, "I know this is going to
sound weird, but could I possibly just... stare at you for a moment?
It may all come clear."

"Uhm... uh... why?" inquired Kazuo with a puzzled look on
her features.

"Well, you know, I figured that if I looked at you then maybe
I could figure out the reason you look so familiar."

"Oh, well, I suppose that's alright..."

Kathrine glared into the eyes of the waitress and found her
self spiraling through a purple-black mist. She landed with a thud
on the scarium ground below. Scarium? What the hell was scarium? Yet
she knew what it was even without knowing. She took her hand to her
hair and noticed the hand was gloved. She wasn't in her school fuku
she was in THE fuku. She shook the hair out of her face and stood up.
It was dark and she heard voices. She turned but could only barely make
out the forms. One was male, and the other was... The other was the
waitress. What the hell was going on? The man-figure had a blade and
was bringing it down. She tried yelling, but her voice was covered
by a loud clanging noise.

Another figure had slipped into the fray, blocking the man-figure
with its own blade. It did not take Kathrine long to realize that the
figure was in a fuku, and therefore a senshi. The swords scraped noisely
as the other senshi held back the man-figure's sword from her the waitress'
head with her own blade. "I..." the other senshi strained, "will never..."
Kathrine saw a man knee the senshi in the stomach and she fell with a
grunt. The first man-figure pulled the blade down, severing the waitress'
head. Both men laughed and she noticed who the second one had been, his
eyes a distinctive shade of yellow. It was the chef. "NOOOOOO!" Kathrine
heard the senshi scream as she stumbled for a footing. "I will.. not...
let you live!"

Kathrine stumbled and fell over into another purple-black mist.
She fell.
She fell.
She fell.
She hit.

"KAZUO!!!!" screamed a voice very far away from her. No, not
so far. Getting closer. Closer. No, not far at all. Coming not just near
but from. From her. It was coming from her.

"Huuuufff," started Kathrine as a pair of hands shook her. It was
Kazuo. Kazuo, her love.

"Kathrine," said Kazuo, "Are you ok? You just fainted."

Kathrine grabbed ahold of Kazuo and held her tight. "Oh, Kazuo, I
thought I'd lost you! But here you are, safe and sound, just like me. Oh,
thank the fates. Don't ever leave me again! Do you hear that? Never again!"

The waitress frowned and turned a morose expression the the group
of girls behind her. "I think," she stated slowly, "We need to call the
ambulance, or hospital. She seems entirely delerious."

Kathrine held on tighter until she slumped over onto Kazuo's
shoulder, her cheek pressed against Kazuo's own.

Minako ran to the telephone, but Suke, the chef, had already called
for the ambulance. "It's on its way," he said, as reassuringly as possible,
though his manner didn't bode well even when he was truely sincere. "All we
can do," he continued, "is sit and wait."

Her eyes opened and she found herself staring at a white ceiling.
"Oh,"said a voice as a man came into view above her, "You're awake. That's
good. If you don't recognize me, I'm Kayako, the manager of the Crown. The
staff was worried about you."

"Even Kazuo? I must have really scared her if what my memory has to
say is true."

"Shush," Kayako cooed, "She's more shaken by your fainting than
anything. Your grandparents are outside. Is there anything I can get you?
Besides these, of course," he motioned to the flowers in his hand. "They were
on sale and so I picked them up." He laid the flowers into an empty vase
near Kathrine's bed.

"Well, " thiugh Kathrine, considering his proposition. "My clarinet
is in my suitcase at home. Could you possibly get my grandparents to get
it?"

"I can do better than that, I'll pick it up myself." He smiled at her
and walked out. She went back to sleep.

"Oh! Kat, I love when you play your letato. It's such a beautiful
instrument. It tends to remind you of why I love you." Kazuo put her arms
around the playing Katrine. "Maybe, you could... up the tempo?"

"How about I just get the Magic to play for us? Then we can dance.
I'd love to dance."

"I'd love to just get to the fun, FUN stuff."

"Kazuo-chan, really! Have you know sense of the romantic? Foreplay
can be... arousing." Katrine smirked.

Kazuo's mouth crumpled in thought. "Well, I suppose if you say so,"
agreed the raven haired girl cuddling Katrine. Kazuo stood up and bowed, her
hand directed at Katrine. "May I have this dance, Princess?"

Katrine swirled a finger and the letato began plaing a waltzy type
number while floating in the air. "Of course," said the princess as she stood
and accepted the hand. They must have danced hours, because by the time they
were finished, persperation dropped off them as though they were rain clouds.
They were more exhausted than they had ever been, even after making love. Who
knew that dancing could be such a workout?

They finally both collapsed onto the bed and lay close together,
despite the heat of their dance workout. "Kat," moaned Kazuo, "Mind turning
off the letato? It's still playing."

"Frankly," Katrine huffed, "I doubt I have the energy. I suppose if I
really try hard I might be able to do it." Limply lifting up an arm, Katrine
pointed at the letato. It abruptly stopped playing and fell to the ground.
"Oh," she said, wiping some sweat from her brow, "I suppose I should have
gotten up to catch it." Kazuo giggled.

About that time they both passed out.

There came a wafting smell to her nose. She sniffled at it, but it
was overpowering, and she failed at retaining her sleep. Her eyes rolled
open as she turned to the direction of the powerful odor. "I brought your
clarinet, and I also brought some soup. Suke made it, and it's guaranteed
to be better than that hosipital crap they've been shoving in you whenever
you show signs of awareness, even if it's lucid."

"Clarinet?" her parched voice croaked, "Where's the clarinet?"

He pulled a black box from outside her region of view and sat it by
her bed. "Can you sit up?" She nodded and scooted into a sitting position.
He moved the bed's removable desk/table attachment near her and set the hot
broth on it. "Why don't you eat first, then you can play for me if you want
to."

She nodded weakly, and he handed her a spoon as she took the lid
off the soup. "So," she inquired between slurps, "My grandparents been
here?"

"Yes, they have," he answered taking a chair for himself and sitting
near her. "They were here in one of you more lucid moments. I think you were
mumbling about your mother. Something about a smile."

She slurped and scratched her cheek. "A smile you say? Hmm, my
mother always had a very nice smile. Reminded me of all those brocures for
Japan we kept getting because of Mom's business. Idiots didn't know she WAS
Japanese."

"Well," he pulled the chair closer, "You seemed almost afraid of
this particular smile, for whatever that means to you."

"Doesn't ring a bell."

"Do you have any ideas why this might be happen-"

"Kath!" Came a voice from the door. Kathrine turned to find
Makaoto followed closely by the others. "We weren't sure they were going
to let us in."

Kayako's brow wrinkled, "Say what, Kino-san? They let me in just
fine."

"That first night you were the one who called her grandparents,
right?"

"Yea," answered Kayako, "So what?"

"Well, security saw you with them and assumed you to be a friend
of the family, a relative, or something like that."

Kathrine nodded. "Certainly plausible. Say, Kayako, would you mind
leaving, so we can have a girl chat?

"Not at all," he answered, standing up and letting the girls past
him. He shut the door when all the girls had gone in. They rushed to Kath's
side.

"Kathrine," said Ami, drawing the brunette's attention to herself.
"I think this has something to do with your memories of prereincarnation. Most
of us have some memories, though usually fractured. Usagi," she pointed to
the girl to her right and continued, "has the most of any of us. You recently
became a senshi, so memories returning isn't really unusual. You must be
careful in just what you tell people. Now, I hear that you've been mumbling
things. Hopefully they'll only be considered delerious dillusions. Still,
try to monitor what you say. Enemies can be anywhere."

Kathrine weakly nodded her head, "I understand."

"I hope they discharge you soon," said Minako in English. "Too many
fun things to do to have you cooped up here for the rest of your life." She
smiled and withdrew from the bed. "Girls, we better leave her to sleep. We
want her rested in case of nasty youma attacks." The rest of group affirmed
Minako's suggestions and nodded as they left Kathrine's room. Kathrine waved
and slipped off into unconciousness.

"Autunite, you think there's something extremely wrong with falling
in love with with a young girl?" inquired the manager of the Crown as he
floated lesiurely around the apartment sipping at a scotch.

The other figure looked up at the manager with his distinctive yellow
eyes. "Depends, Chromy, just how young is she? And would you please come down
from there? It reminds me of Zoisite, and Zoi always gave me the chills."

"Zoisite's been long dead."

Autunite shook his head. "Really, Chromy, sometimes I think you miss
the point. Now just how old is this girl?"

"Twelve."

"Branching into Nephrite's domain are we?"

Chromite made a dismissive wave. "Ha, ha. Though I'm sure he's still
around. Beryl's instruments didn't detect the reabsorbtion of his molecules.
I think he's hanging around until he's sure it's safe."

"I was."

Chromite dropped his glass and it shattered on the ground.

"Shit," cursed Autunite.

Nephrite walked around the bar in the apartment, fingering it with
his white glove. "Nice place you have here. How's it been, the years living
with humans? Dealing with the Sailor Senshi everyday?"

"Not like we were wanted in the Dark Kingdom," Chromite bit off,
"Surely, Nephy, you know our life here has been better than it was in the
Dark Kingdom."

"But of course," replied the third ex-general. "You couldn't navigate
yourself out of inverted black hole, and Mr. Radioactive over there," he
thumbed at the general-turned-chef, "was an alcoholic. You two were worse
than the rest of us put together."

"Why thank you for the vote of confidence, though if you're looking
for a place to hang out and share a trip down memory lane, you've come to the
wrong place. You haven't exactly endeared yourself to us in the last few
moments."

Nephrite contorted his mouth. "True enough. I, as you still seem to
have, have my powers. I shall just take over the next door apartment. I do
believe it is vancant."

Chromite huffed. "Really, Nephy, we have jobs. We pay for this
apartment. We only use our powers for trivial things like this." He motioned
to the fact that he was floating in the air. "Although Auty won't even do
that. He dislikes anything that reminds him of Zoi."

"Just the mention gives me the shivers, now what was this you said
about the Sailor Senshi?"

Nephrite chuckled and replied, "Ah, so you do not know their
identites. How truely humorus. That group who always hangs out together, the
one that is always at the same table day after day..."

Chromite frowned. "You mean...?"

"Of course I do, you twit. What do you think I say of them?"

Autunite was the first to question the repercussions. "Does that mean
they know who we really are? We haven't been evil or anything. I mean I'm a
chef and Chromite likes interior decorating. What on earth kind of evil
villian likes to decorate a victim's house before he kills the victim?"

"Don't go there," grumbled Chromite, "I spruced up what was left of
the Dark Kingdom."

"Oh, yes, you did, Oh Great King Chromite. You did. With buttercup
yellow," laughed Autunite.

Nephrite politely coughed to bring attention back to himself. "While
I see you two are a barrel of laughs, I must depart to my now aquired
apartment. I require rest. Maybe we can talk far more about where I have really
been the last few years at a later time." He winked out of existence.

"Did I ever tell you how much I hated that man?" inquired Autunite
of his companion.

"No, but I don't think I have to guess very hard."

August 18 1996 9:00 PM NST

"Come forth, oh Doctor of Destruction. I need to you to make sure
the victim is a terminal case, and retrieve for me her pure heart." Kaolinite
pointed to a picture of Kathrine. "Do not fail me."

"It shall be done."

"You are mine pretty little neo-senshi. You are mine."
