Dæmonicus charged the sphere quickly, and launched it at Alexander.
-Eternal Agony!
Alexander barely evaded the attack. Still, he was pushed against a tree. He was slowly starting to give in. Dispite being the Pope, the leader of the Shadow Saints, his powers were no match for Samael. His hope in winning the battle was starting to vanish.
-That was close, Alexander. But I won't miss this time.
He began moving towards him, charging a white beam in his hand.
-It will cause you eternal pain, even after death.
Alexander looked at Samael, angrily. Although somewhat impotent, he prepared himself for the final blow. In his mind, however, he was worried about the Shadow Saints, Athena, and the world itself. If he let himself die, would they be able to defend the Shadow Sanctuary defeat Samael, and the forecoming demons?

Suddenly, an orange-yellow tornado appeared, approaching at Samael at great speed.
-Storm Cosmo!
-Serpentarius Shield!
He blocked the attack before it hit him; it seemed it was an easy task.
-Too slow, Shadow Gemini.
When the tornado started to disappear, it revealed three saints behind it: Souki, Tsai and Tamiel. Souki looked vigorously at Samael, who was watching them. Tsai was a little bit exhausted, but his cosmo was twice stronger than before. The same thing happened with Tamiel. He looked very exhausted, as if he had no more strength to go on; however, he was standing there, willing to fight. Samael looked at them. None could perceive if he was surprised or angered.
-You defeated the Demoniac Spirits. Perhaps you're not that bad.
-And now we'll defeat you -Tamiel said, challenging him.
-You saints are something special indeed! -Samael said, laughing.
Alexander was beginning to recover from Samael's attack. This one noticed this, but did not take action.
-You all can barely stand up -he finished, this time very serenely.
It was true. Somehow, all of them began getting more tired than before. Tamiel fell to his knees; his cosmo was getting weaker and weaker. Tsai helped him stand up, and so did Souki. Samael turned to see Alexander. He was gone.
-What?!
When he looked back at the saints, he saw Alexander, standing in front of them.
-This is my battle. Go.
-But... It's our battle too, your Holliness! -Souki said as he continued to help Tamiel stand up.
-I will fight to the very end! -Tsai said.
-And I will have my revenge! -Tamiel finished.
-I think the end is near -Samael said-. Don't try to protect them, Alexander. It's useless.
-The Demoniac Spirits were useless. I just sent last one back to his realm.

-Shadow Aquarius -Dæmonicus said, looking at him-. Another unexpected apparition.
-So it is.
-I will make it your last one! Black Snake!
Samael ran towards him, who did not move at all. However, Samael's attack was stopped by two hands.
-It's not that easy to pass through us- Alexander said.
He used one hand to charge his ken and launch it against Samael, who was pushed back a little bit.
-Oh, it is -Samael said-. It is very easy.
He charged his ken with his two hands, and created a huge energy sphere.
-Just with this, you'll see how your weakened saints will fall! -Samael shouted.
He launched the attack to the saints, but its speed began getting slower and slower. It began to freeze down.
-I'm sure they are not as weak as you think. Otherwise, this fight would have not happened.
Samael growled, and charged a smaller ken at the saint, but just as it was going to hit him, he disappeared.

-Where did he go? -He said in a low voice.
-Mind your own business, Dæmonicus! -A voice said.
It was Celsus. He had just exited the Pope's chamber to the garden, along with Rao, Arukai and Haruna.
-Back off, saints -Alexander said-. He's Samael.
-God's Poison?! The same...?!
Haruna could not believe who was she fighting against. One of the greatest demons... could they really defeat him?
-Whatever, he's an enemy -Rao said-. Which must be killed.
-Obviously not by you! There's a difference between a Demoniac Spirit and me -Samael said, laughing.
-Not if we burn them to the maximum -Arukai strongly added-. You, nor anyone, will be able to stop us.
-That will never happen. A human is still a human, no matter what.
-But a human can defeat a God. Especially if the human has been trained by one!
Sid appeared out of the hole, apparently with lots of energy to waste on a battle. It was as if he had recharged his energy.
-Especially if he works together with other people! -Mai yelled.
-Alone, you are destined to fall, Samael! Surrender! -Bianca said.
-Non-sense -Samael said-. You will all fall. Tonight!
-I don't think so! Divine Lightning!
Samael evaded most of the electric rays, but some of them hit him in the left wrists. He, however, did not say anything.
-I'll show you something divine -Samael said-. Eternal Agony!
-Invisible Reflection! -Haruna exclaimed.
Haruna had stand in front of Sid, protecting him with her attack. Samael's attack broke the barrier Haruna created, but she managed to block most of the attack. However, she fell to the ground, powerless. Mai ran towards Samael, and succesfully tackled him. Souki and Tsai ran towards him and used their ken to hit him. However, Samael did not like to be beaten up, so he moved quickly and used a small ken to push them to the ground. Alexander tried to attack him from behind, but Samael blocked the attack and pushed him far away.

Celsus ran towards the Pope, but he was hit in the back by Samael's ken, also falling to the ground.
-Bastard! Excalibur!
His attack cut parts of Samael's cape, but he dodged most of the attacks. Again, using his ken, he tried to push Rao away, but he stopped him with his hand. Samael noticed the anger in Rao's look.
-I'm not that easy! You'll have to do better than that!
-Fine -Samael said.
He charged a somewhat big ken, and pushed him to the chamber's wall, almost breaking it. Rao fell to the floor, while Arukai tried to help him stand up, along with Bianca.
-You... you! Soul Nova!
He ran towards Samael, who received the whole attack and got slightly injured. Bianca, amazed, decided to try her luck with him.
-Cyclone Mist! -She exclaimed.
Samael blocked the attack easily. He held it in his hand, and fired it back at her. She fell to the ground right where she was standing. Arukai could not believe that she could've been beaten like that. Before he could think further on, Samael was already running towards him, with a face that showed determination in killing him.
-Black--
But something interrupted him. Something had pulled Arukai to the left and pushed itself to the right. It happened so quickly that Samael did not notice for a moment.
-Frost Spiral!
Samael dodged the attack and looked furiously at the saint.
-Shadow Aquarius! -He yelled.

The fight began. The saint moved around him, each time further away, as if he didn't want to hit or be hit by him. Samael ran towards him, but he just kept evading him. Samael's frustration was obvious in his face and by the way he ran: Stretching his arms to catch the Saint of Shadow Aquarius with desperation. In a matter of minutes he lost his patience.
-You have done it, Shadow Aquarius! -Samael yelled at him.
-We've got to help him! -Tsai said to Souki.
Souki nodded. He stood up, and then Tsai stood up, both of them looking at Samael. They began to approach. Tamiel began standing up as well, somewhat recovered. Celsus helped him out, but Tamiel did not need much help. They began approaching Samael as well, who didn't notice what was happening because he was charging a big, green-colored sphere.
-Green Slaughter! -Samael exclaimed.
-Shadow Scythe! -Tamiel exclaimed right afterwards.
He had his two arms crossed, and with his two hands, Tamiel managed to cut the sphere in half. Nobody had ever seen his cosmo shinning so brightly before. The attack exploded in that moment, blowing Tamiel up. The only reason he did not break all his bones was because he had the Shadow Pisces cloth on. When he fell to the ground again, Tsai tried to catch him but failed.
-Amazing -Samael thought-, I can't recall somebody doing that before.
-And if that's the power of his attack -Rao said, appearing behind Celsus-, imagine the power of the sacred sword in my hands!
He ran towards Samael, leaving a shinning blue trace of cosmo behind.
-Excalibur! -He exclaimed.

But Samael was no longer in front of him. He had disappeared. Rao looked around, confused, and began to ask what happened - but, before anyone could answer, Samael appeared in front of him again, with those hypnotizing, bright silver eyes of his. The sole view of his eyes pushed Rao away, who was still confused. His mind hurt, and he started to feel dizzy. Haruna, who had just recovered, tried to help him. Mai was also there. Both girls looked at Samael. Then they looked at each other.
-You're going to pay for this, you...
-He will, Mai. Right now.
It was Alexander. He was still on his feet. He had difficulties with walking, that could be slightly noticed, but there was no doubt he was making a great effort by standing up. Samael laughed at him.
-You can't do anything, Alexander. Your saints are almost dead.
Sid was starting to rise again, and Tamiel was trying to but the effort was enormous. Bianca was also beginning to regain consciousness. Tsai went to help Bianca, and Souki went to help Tamiel standing up.
-And you -Samael continued-. You don't even have your old cloth to protect you! It's over, Alexander!
-You are wrong -Alexander replied.
-Huh?
-Come back to me -Alexander whispered-, my old cloth...
Seconds later, a lightning could be seen travelling from the House of Shadow Sagittarius to the garden of the Pope's Temple. When the lightning started fading away, everybody looked at the Shadow Sagittarius cloth. Tsai gasped in horror.
-That means... if the cloth is here, then Yuki is...
The cloth began unarming itself. Alexander's body was beginning to be covered by his old cloth, which he hadn't worn for a long, long time. When Samael looked at him, he was amazed. Alexander's cloth began shinning just like his Pope's robes: Golden.
-Now -he said-, now you look like that kid I once met, Alexander.
-The kid that killed you, Samael? You know, I can do that again.
-You were lucky -Samael said, angry-. Just because the other 11 died.
-Shut up!

He pulled out an arrow from the quiver and pointed it at Samael with the bow. The cloth began to reflect more of Alexander's golden cosmo, and soon, Alexander's cosmo around him was almost as bright as sunlight itself.
-You have a strong cosmo, Alexander. But it's still a human's cosmo. It'll never kill me.
-Well, maybe if we help him... -Souki said.
Souki, Tsai, Tamiel, Celsus and Rah gathered around Alexander. Their faces showed how determined they were to finish this fight once and for all. Samael, for the first time during the fight, felt afraid.
-... Their cosmo...
The saints' cosmo was glowing so brightly that it started to blind Samael. Rao and Haruna began to stand up, and joined the six saints. Then Arukai, Sid, and Bianca; they all stood up and joined their fellow saints. Together, their cosmo shone so intensively that Samael had to back up. This action, this will of going on and protecting the sanctuary really inspired Alexander. Still holding the arrow and the bow, he looked back at the saints, smiling. Then he looked back at Samael, as coldly as before. He pulled the string and the arrow, and the cosmo of the saints joined his, creating a huge light that could be seen all around the Shadow Sanctuary.
-Until we meet again -Alexander said-. Samael.
He let go the arrow, which struck Samael in his heart. To everybody's surprise, he was still moving.
-Your... Your arrow... Will not kill me... Alexander...
-That's where we come in.

The Shadow Aquarius saint appeared appeared, charging an ice sphere in his hand. Not only him, Tamiel's hands were also glowing, and Souki's fists were pressed so hard that his ken could be seen coming out from them. Samael was astonished, and worse of all, lonely - all Demoniac Spirits were dead. Tsai grabbed one of his swords, and focused his energy in it, while Celsus was charging his green cosmo in his hands. Not only them, but Haruna, Rao, Arukai and Bianca had their special attacks prepared. It was amazing; despite the fact they were near death, they were eager to destroy him.
-How -he thought-, how do they get all this energy?!
Samael had not been crossing his arms, though. With his two hands, he had been creating an energy ball - much bigger than the one he threw to Tamiel. By the time the energy ball became reasonably big, Alexander had already prepared a new arrow.
-Green Slaughter!
He launched the energy ball towards the saints, but they reacted quickly and launched their attacks.
-Cyclone Mist!
-Dangerous Prayer!
-Soul Nova!
-Lion Bite!
-Ken Execution!
-Violet Sun!
-Blue Devil!
-Divine Lightning!
-Storm Cosmo!
-Shadow Scythe!
-Frost Spiral!
Samael's energy ball was destroyed, and the power of the saints reached him. Samael was pushed far away, beaten up by all that energy. His chest skin was burnt, and he stood up with difficulty. The dust, which was lifted from the ground due to the power of the saints, did not let him see them clearly. Suddenly, the dust disappeared rapidly, and Samael saw Alexander, who was pointing at him with an arrow.
-Goodbye, Samael.

The arrow hit him in the forehead and passed through his head. Samael shrieked, while moving his head from side to side. He saw the 11 saints; they were looking at him. As his mortal self was dying, light came out from his eyes, mouth, ears and nose.
-This is not over, Alexander! You can't change destiny!
As he said this words, Samael's body began to rot, until it became no more than bones and dust around it.
-... That was it? I expected some light rays coming out -Sid said.
The bones started to shine, and they were pulverized as well. Everybody looked at Sid. Then Alexander started to talk.
-This is not the end, Shadow Saints -he said-. This is merely the beginning.
The moon was shinning red. The saints gathered around, in the damaged garden of the Pope's Temple, and looked at it. They began thinking and talking between each other.
-Why is it red? Why? -Tamiel asked.
Rah left the saints, and went back to the Pope's chamber.
-Wait! You haven't--
-Bloody times are coming. -Celsus interrupted Mai.
-Will we make it? -Bianca asked.
-I'm sure we will -Tsai told her-. Yuki...
-We'll find her, Tsai. Don't worry -Souki said while patting him in the shoulder and smiling.
The saints stood right there for a long time, still looking at the moon.
-I'll go look for Shadow Aquarius -Tsai said.
-No, don't -Tamiel insisted-. He won't like to be disturbed.
-And how do you know much about him? -Sid asked.
The discussion went for hours. Alexander started to step aside, but still looking at the moon. Samael's appearance on Earth, Yuki's abduction, the saint of Shadow Aquarius... Celsus was right, bloody times are coming, indeed. But the Shadow Saint Order, leadered by him, must stop evil, just like they did a thousand years ago. He sighed.
-I think I need to call the gardeners.
