Chapter 4

 

`When are you coming Homura, we are waiting and I'm getting impatient' Karai thought, she crossed her arms behind her head and looked at the sky. She looked over at Sasha as she moved to a more comfortable spot before glancing back up at the stars. Later that night Sasha sat up, “I'm going to go get some food” she said “the monkey will probably be hungry when he wakes up”, “okay” said Karai, Sasha stood up and said “you stay”, “why?”, “someone needs to watch the idiots”, “fine but I go next time”. Sasha walked away with Karai cursing behind her back. Karai climbed the rocky passage wall with ease, then sat at the top to glare at Sasha as she disappeared into the forest. Then a voice spoke from behind her. “So, where she going?” asked Goyjo. Without turning around Karai said “nothing and you are to stay right here”. “Really” Goyjo replied, he climbed carefully back down the cliff and then sat in the jeep, smoking and smirking up at her. Karai glared back and muttered “stupid jerk”. Half hour later Sasha returned with a bag in her hand and a deer over her shoulder. Karai leaped off the cliff, landed lightly on the ground and walked over to Sasha. Goyjo whistled softly, that jump should have killed or at least gravely injured Karai but she was chatting with Sasha. Both girls had glanced his way when he whistled, coincidence he thought, they couldn't have heard him whistled from that far away. Karai was now carrying the bag over her shoulder, like it weighed nothing. Goyjo walked over to them, “here, give me the bag” he said, tugging it from Karai. “Sure” said Karai, she smirked and then let go. The bag fell to the ground and Goyjo was dragged with it. “Crap” Goyjo said, struggling with the bag, eventually he managed to drag it over to where the girls were sitting, laughing. Goyjo placed the bag at the girls feet and then lay down in the jeep, then he fell asleep. As Goyjo made his way back to the jeep Karai heard a man yelling “give me back my crop”. She turned around and looked in the direction that Sasha had returned from. She saw a man tied to a tree, squirming to escape the tight bonds that held him to the tree. Karai looked over at Sasha and sighed, Sasha just smiled and shrugged. Together they cooked and then smoked half the meat, placing it in a bag for the trip. The other half they cooked and cut into pieces, arranging the bits among the cut up vegetables and sliced fruit. Then they covered it till morning with an extra shirt they found in the jeep. In the morning Goku woke up to the most delicious smell ever, he looked over at the girls, talking by the smouldering fire. Then he saw the something large and lumpy covered by one of Sanzo's extra robes, who wouldn't be happy when he saw. He woke up the others and they all walked over to the girls, Sanzo looked at them and said `what have you done with my spare robe?”. Karai and Sasha looked up and said “preparing” before yanking the robe away from the food. Sanzo, Hakkai, Goyjo and Goku gasped. Under the robe were piles of tender meat, smoked vegetables surrounded by slices of assorted fruits and it smelled heavenly since they hadn't eaten for awhile. “Bon appetite” said Karai and they fell on the food. After they had stuffed themselves full, Hakkai asked “which of you made this lovely breakfast?”. Karai and Sasha smiled at him and said “both”, “Sasha got the food and we both prepared it for you guys” said Karai, munching on some fruit. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” said Goku, he rushed over and tackled them both to the ground and hugged them. “Get off monkey” snarled Karai before pushing him off them roughly, Goku didn't care. Today they were walking because Hakuryuu was worn out from staying a jeep all night. Karai and Sasha pushed their bikes to make it fair. Just then, two guys in a car came over to them and asked if they wanted a lift. Then they stopped mid sentence, noticing the bikes and odd group. They saw two gangster looking girls pushing two black bikes, the others were a monk, red- haired guy, one with a monocle and the other with bright golden eyes, altogether they looked strange especially the girls who were wearing black and giving them death glares. There were only two spots left in the guys car so Sanzo dragged Hakkai with him and sat down. “You two can ride with them” Sanzo said and then they left, driving towards the town. Goku and Goyjo looked at each other and then at the girls and said “please?”. Karai and Sasha smirked, “think you can stomach it” asked Karai while Sasha said “sure”. Goku frowned at Karai and then jumped onto the bike, sitting with ease, Goyjo jumped onto Sasha's bike and gripped it tightly with a slightly scared looked on his face. Sasha laughed and said “Goku is getting the hang of it” then they both swung up onto their bikes. They kick started the bikes, swung around till they faced the town and then together they shot toward it. They arrived before Sanzo and Hakkai, so they got the rooms and sat around. Sasha glanced at Karai, lying on the bed watching her, Goku and Goyjo play cards. Then she silently laughed to herself, Sanzo still hadn't noticed that his card was missing. “Hey girls, I'm hungry” whined Goku, tugging at Karai's shirt. Karai looked at him and said “let's go eat then” before standing up and walking out the door, followed by Sasha, Goyjo and Goku, who was right behind her heels. As they roamed the streets looking for a good place to eat, Karai spotted the finest and most expensive place there. She smiled evilly and said “let's feast” before walking toward the Chinese Dragon Restaurant. Before entering Karai muttered to Sasha “since it isn't our money”, Sasha just laughed. an hour later they walked out of the restaurant, stuffed full with Chinese food. They walked back to the hotel, laughing and talking on the way. Then they stopped, outside the hotel was Sanzo and Hakkai. As they approached them Sanzo asked “you haven't by chance seen my card have you?”, looking at Karai and Sasha. Karai shook her head and Sasha said “nope”. Then they walked past him, as they passed Karai slipped his card back into his pocket. Five minutes later Sanzo said “huh, I found my card”. Sasha and Karai laughed, then laid down on the bed. Sasha, Sanzo, Hakkai, Goyjo and Goku started playing manjong. Karai started to get really bored, frustrated she said “I'm going for a spin” before storming out of the room. Goku jumped up and followed her. He raced down the stairs and caught her just getting on her bike, her and the silver designs lighting up in the light cast by the moon. Karai spun the bike and sped out of town, she was going faster than she had ever gone before and Goku clung on tightly so he wouldn't fly off. “Karai, where are we going?”, “no idea”, “okay”. They spent the rest of the trip in silence. They rode until the town was just a glow on the horizon, then Karai finally stopped. She leaned back against Goku and looked up at the sky. “Karai?”, “mmm”, “why did you want to suddenly want to go for a ride?”, “don't know” she replied simply. Together they sat on the bike looking at the night sky. Then Karai spoke “I like being outside at night, it calms me down”, then she sat up. She started the bike and then rode back to the town. Goku watched her, she had a frown on her face, she seemed very preoccupied lately. Half hour later they reached the hotel and walked back in. Goku joined in the game again while Karai just lay back on the bed with hr arms placed behind her head and stared at the roof again, with a slight frown on her face. Sasha looked over at her and wondered why Karai was so frustrated, she decided to find out later. Soon everyone was asleep and the room was quiet. “Karai, you awake?”, “yeah”, “what's wrong?”. Karai looked over at Sasha and said “Homura”. Sasha nodded, now she understood. It had been awhile since they had battled Homura to get the group back and he had promised to get them back. Sasha knew that he would also try to capture her, Karai and Goku so he could recreate the heaven and earth. So far, he hadn't come clean on that threat. It was so annoying not knowing when he would show up and then the fight of the century would begin. The next day they left the town and drove away from the rising sun. An hour later they reached a tunnel, they drove through it and as they came out the other side Karai and Sasha noticed a shadow above them and a whistling sound. Karai looked up and then sped up, Sasha followed and Hakkai, noticing the girls speed up, did the Sashae. The boulder landed just behind the jeep, making the back tip up, flinging Goyjo and Goku up out of the truck to smash into the boulder. Karai couldn't contain her laugh, Sasha chuckled loudly. “My back” muttered Goyjo, Goku just stood up and went to sit back in the jeep. Hakkai was muffling a laugh. Sasha and Karai looked up and saw a shadow on top of the boulder, Sasha smiled and Karai glanced at Sanzo to see if he knew who was here. “It's the Sanzo Party” shouted Lerin “I knew it”. Lerin jumped from the boulder and landed in front of the jeep. Sasha sighed “look, runt, I haven't had pokey today so go away”, Karai chuckled quietly. Lerin gave Sasha a `so what' look and then said “let's play Sanzo”. “Little brat, didn't you hear me” asked Sasha, clenching her fist. Lerin gave her a drool stare and then laughed. “Hey Sasha, let's go, I don't want to stay here and watch these idiots fight”, “agreed” said Sasha, both girls jumped onto their bikes and started the engine. “Uh, girls, we will be dragged behind if you do that. Please don't” pleaded Goyjo and Goku. Karai smiled at Sasha, the boys didn't know that the bonds were weakening. They laughed and then sped off but only got a few metres before having to spin to a sliding stop when Kogaiji and Dokugakuji appeared in front of them. Karai snapped “you trying to kill yourselves!” she shouted, “pricks, we don't want to watch those guys play with their weapons, it is so boring”. Lerin popped up in front of Sasha just then and said “I'm not boring to watch, I could kick you arse if I wanted to”, Karai smirked and watched as Sasha slapped Lerin and sending her flying. Kogaiji stared and then glared at Sasha, “don't you touch my little sister” he yelled before launching himself at Sasha. That was when Karai got angry, she stood in front of Sasha and punched Kogaiji right in the ribs, sending him to land a good twenty metres away. “Don't even think about touching Sasha” she muttered, glaring at Kogaiji as he struggled to rise, gripping his side. “Ko” yelled Dokugakuji, Kogaiji smiled feebly at him and stood up and walked back over to them. Karai stepped back to stand next to Sasha, who was laughing like mad. “Cool it Karai, you'll hurt them” said Sasha, patting Karai on the shoulder. Karai slapped her hand away and just looked at her. Then she turned around just as Sasha said “Ohh”. “What..?” asked Karai but stopped short and then started chuckling under her breath. When Kogaiji had reached Dokugakuji, he had stumbled and fallen. As he fell he had landed on Dokugakuji, making them both tumble to the ground. The end result looked hilarious. Sasha had taken out her camera and was snapping away, her nose starting to bleed. Sasha and Karai had a magazine that they published, it was Yaoi Fangirl's Magazine. Sasha got all the pictures without been seen and Karai helped sorting them out and sometimes took them herself. “YAOI!” screamed Sasha. Kogaiji blushed and then stood up, then he smiled. “I know your weakness now” he said, with a glint in his eye. “Weakness, huh?” said Sasha, going wide-eyed. Kogaiji just smiled and said “would you take the scripture in return for some yaoi action?”. Sasha was bleeding like mad from the nose, “maybe” she replied. Goyjo walked up to Sasha and whispered something in her ear, Sasha's eyes widened further. “Would you?” she asked, Goyjo walked over and started kissing Dokugakuji, who just looked stunned. “Uh huh” he said. Sasha smiled, Kogaiji stared at Goyjo, then Sasha. “You would do that for the scripture?” he asked. Sasha smiled wider, placed her hand on her chest and said “no-one but Sanzo may touch that scripture”. Just then she noticed that Lerin was sneaking toward Sanzo to steal the scripture. “No you don't” Sasha said, grabbing Lerin and throwing her back over to Kogaiji. “Guys, let's go” said Sasha and when they didn't move she sighed, she and Karai grabbed them and practically threw them into the jeep. “Hakkai, drive” said Karai, Hakkai nodded and obeyed. Sasha and Karai jumped onto their bikes, waved to the stunned group, and sped after the car. At the next town, Sasha screamed when she saw the sign. “HOT SPRINGS” she yelled before dragging them all to the spring and jumping in. Karai followed and sighed in appreciation. “Hey Sasha?”, “yeah”, “shall we?”, “uh huh”. The pools had a tube connecting them together for water and the builders never expected demons to shall up. The girls dove under and swam through the pipe. They came up just behind some rocks. Sasha attached the camera to the telescope and poked it up above the rocks. “Holy cow” she murmured, Goyjo and Goku were already there and Sanzo and Hakkai were walking in, holding hands. “Sasha?” asked Karai but didn't say anything else because Sasha was snapping away. `I didn't realise they were so hot under those shirts' Karai thought. Just then Goku dived under the water and swam straight at them without realising. Karai and Sasha laughed quietly, Sasha took a few more pictures and then swam back through the pipe. Karai followed just as Goku reached the spot where they had been. At the other end, Sasha and Karai rose out of the water, looked at each other and laughed loudly. “What were you doing then?” asked a shrill voice. Sasha and Karai stopped, turned around and then screamed. Goyjo and Goku heard them and ran over into the female side. Then they stopped, Goyjo's eyes slid down and Goku just stared, both not realising that they had lost their towels on the way. Karai sighed while Sasha blushed. Sasha quickly stood in front of them and, without touching, covered them. Karai grabbed Suna and ran out of the spring. Five minutes later she came back, “dropped her home” Karai said mildly and then said “get some clothes on” to Goyjo and Goku. Karai noticed Sasha's camera slipping into her pocket and smiled. She dragged Sasha away and then they collapsed with laughter when they reached the room. They hopped onto the computer, opened their magazine site and started uploading the pictures. When they were nearly done the others came in, then looked over their shoulders. “Get rid of those pictures” said Sanzo when he saw the pictures of him and others. Karai muttered “get out” before kicking them all out the door. A couple minutes later she let them in, they looked at the empty screen and then at the two smiling girls. “Where is it?” asked Goyjo, all going pale. Karai looked at Sasha and said “gone”. Sasha said “uh oh” before fleeing from the room with Goyjo and Sanzo at her heels. Goku and Hakkai stayed behind and Karai was sitting on the bed laughing. Later that night, when the group was asleep, Karai heard the window open and Sasha's shadow slide in. then they laughed quietly. Sasha flopped onto the bed and went to sleep while Karai lay and stared at the roof with a smirk on her face. Later that night Karai and Sasha got bored so decided to go out. They wandered the streets and ran into Kogaiji, Sasha looked at Karai and together they laughed. Kogaiji frowned, “what's so funny?” he asked. Sasha just pointed to a news agent and on the stand out front was a copy of their magazine and on the front was Dokugakuji and Kogaiji, seemingly making out. Kogaiji stared and then watched the girls run back to the hotel, laughing. They left the hotel the next morning, walking into town to buy supplies before continuing west. As they walked through the streets they saw Kogaiji still in the Sashae spot but in his hands was the magazine, he was sitting stone still and people were looking At him oddly. “What the?” asked Goku and then he walked up behind Kogaiji and then gasped, he beckoned the others over and then doubled over laughing. Karai and Sasha stayed in the Sashae spot, barely suppressing their laughter and getting ready to run. The group looked over Kogaiji's shoulder and then six pairs of angry eyes looked at them. “Run” said Karai, Sasha nodded and they both took off, but they ran at a jog, for them at least. Just as they all started to catch up, Sasha and Karai looked over their shoulders and waved before putting on their full sped and disappearing in a cloud of dust. “What?” asked Sanzo, they stopped and then the group went to where their jeep was parked and the others went off in the opposite direction. Meanwhile Karai and Sasha were leaning against their bikes, chuckling at the memory of the groups stunned looks as they sped off. They saw the group walking toward them and jumped on their bikes so they could make a quick getaway. They left the town and every time one of the group gave them an evil glare they just cracked up laughing. Later that day they reached the next town, it was just after sunset so the guys went to get food while Goku and Karai wandered around and Goyjo and Sasha went to the bar for a drink. When they met at the hotel, Sanzo and Hakkai had little smiles on their faces, Karai wondered why but they gave her the feeling that they were going to get her and Sasha back. They went up to their rooms and slept, well Karai rested. The next morning Karai and Sasha found out that Sanzo and Hakkai had disappeared but had only left two minutes ago, with a bad feeling they raced downstairs and outside. Their bikes were gone and at the outskirts of the town they could see Hakkai and Sanzo riding and waving at them and the smiles could be seen a mile away. Sasha and Karai grew so angry that Goyjo and Goku had taken a few steps back as they felt the girls aura grow immensely. “Hakuryuu, transform” said Sasha through gritted teeth. Hakuryuu complied and they threw the half asleep boys in and then Sasha said “I'm driving, your skills are speed an tricks, mine are especially in speed”, Karai nodded and jumped into the passenger seat. Goku asked cautiously “why don't you drive Karai, you drive pretty fast?”, Karai laughed, “I'm fast but when Sasha is mad she is super fast”. Goku sat back and the boys both looked at each other and then clung tightly to the sides. Sasha pushed the pedal to the floor and the jeep shot forward, “Hakuryuu, show me speed, I know you hold back but let it go now!” said Sasha, glaring in the direction of Sanzo and Hakkai, who had noticed that the girls were after them and that a very mad Sasha was at the wheel. They sped up and rode straight away from the town, heading west. Sasha was urging Hakuryuu to his full speed which he didn't use with Hakkai because Hakkai didn't like fast driving unless in emergencies, which didn't happen often. Then Hakuryuu let out a squeal and poured on the speed, they flew toward Sanzo and Hakkai who, when they looked back, gasped when they noticed that the jeep was only five metres away. Karai perched on the edge of the truck and when they were level, leaped off to land on Sasha's bike behind Sanzo. Sasha swerved the car in front of the bikes path, making them stop. Karai had grabbed control of the bike but Sanzo, scared of crashing, leapt from the bike making it go uncontrollable. Karai steadied it and then stopped it, she rode over to Hakkai who said “I knew what I was doing at least”. Karai nodded and then rode over to Sanzo, she grabbed his collar and practically dragged him over to Sasha. Sasha didn't look happy, so Sanzo was shivering slightly. Karai threw him at Sasha's feet. Sanzo stood up and looked at Sasha, Sasha looked back and saw the fear in his eyes. “Don't do that again” she said simply before taking her bike from Karai and jumping on. Karai was already on her bike and waiting for Sasha, she was glaring at Hakkai as if daring him to come over, he was sitting in the truck with a smile on his face and Sanzo was still a little pale from the encounter with the angry Sasha. They left and quickly sped towards the next town, all eager to rest in bed. Karai and Sasha arrived before the others and bought two security sensors for their bikes, only they could start the bike. The next morning they heard the bike trying to start but wouldn't. Karai smiled and looked at Sasha, “looks like they are at it again” she said. They went to the window and opened it, looking down they saw Sanzo and Hakkai desperately trying to start the bikes. But the girls had forgotten the bonds, Goyjo and Goku could start the bikes. Goyjo walked over to the bike, looked at the girls and smirked. “Let me take care of this” he said, he got on the bike and placed his hand on the sensor and the bike rumbled to a start but then shot forward, Goyjo scrambled to hold on and then looked in front of him. He saw Goku clinging onto the bike, white as a sheet. “Those stinking boys” muttered Karai, she leaped out the window and ran toward Goku, while Sasha ran over to Goyjo, who was doing better than Goku. Sasha leaped onto the bike and pulled it to a stop. Meanwhile Karai was getting sick of running after Goku so she just stopped in the middle of the street. “What are you doing?” asked Sasha, looking at Goku still riding but she noticed the bike was swerving. Karai said nothing but pointed to her choker binder and smiled. Suddenly Goku was flung backwards as the bike stopped, he landed at her feet and Karai looked at him. “Don't take my bike ever again” she said and then jumped onto her bike. Goku slid into the jeep and sat down, he looked like he had seen the demon of death and in a way, he had. Sasha knew that Karai looked like the demon of death when mad. Sasha jumped back onto her bike and they rode in front of the jeep, both had frowns on their faces. At the next town, Sasha and Karai shared a room but the others refused to come in. That night Karai and Sasha were having a muted conversation when Goku and Goyjo came in. they cringed under the girls glare but still managed to say “sorry”. The girls softened under the boys tender gazes and agreed to let them sleep in the Sashae room that night. The next morning they left the town with Goyjo and Goku still slightly wary and Sanzo and Hakkai still really scared that the girls were going to get payback.
