SD Gundam Fan Fiction ❯ Wishing... ❯ Wishing... ( Chapter 1 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Disclaimer: I own neither SD Gundam Force (must have season two!), or Wishing You were Somehow Here Again (that would be Andrew Lloyd Webber), but I do own Aurora Wintershinn Miya de Lacroa, Rele's mother.

Here is a more human look at Princess Rele and her feelings on the eighth anniversary of her mother's death.

Princess Relehimana Miya De Lacroa walked down the cobblestone path, black cloak swirling in the fall breeze. Looking to the sky, she thought, Eight years to the day… It seems like yesterday that Mother was assasinated. Damn you, Epyon, damn you to the deepest reigons of the Dark Pit.

Rele turned the corner into the Cemetary de les Royal Maisonnée de Lacroa, or, were you to translate it into English, the Cemetary of the Royal Family of Lacroa. All of the members of the Royal family found their way here eventually, whether it was a visit to a loved one or their final journey home.

She stopped and knelt at the foot of a particular grave, one she knew as well as the weight of the tiara on her forehead.

What did the tombstone say, you might ask? It read…

Aurora Wintershinn Miya de Lacroa the First.
October Sixth, 1960 - July Ninth, 1985
Adored Queen,
Loving Wife,
Beloved Mother.

Rele brushed caught leaves off of the angel-bedecked grave surface. She took a deep, shaky breath and began to sing a song from Neotopia that she thought fit the occasion rather well.

You were once my one companion,
you were all that mattered…
You were once a friend and mother,
then my world was shattered…

Rele squeezed her eyes shut against the flood of images. A bolt of Dark Mana, a scream, and a final, whispered “Rele…”

Wishing you were somehow here again…
Wishing you were somehow near…
Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed,
somehow you would be here…

Wishing I could hear your voice again…
Knowing that I never would…
Dreaming of you won't help me to do
all that you dreamed I could…

Since her mother had died, Rele had acted as the uncrowned queen of Lacroa, assuming all the responsibilities of the queen, as well as those of the king when her father was traveling elsewhere. Essentially, she ruled Lacroa in her parent's stead. The blonde smiled amidst her tears. “Are you happy, Mother? I've tried to fill your shoes.”

Passing bells and sculpted angels,
cold and monumental,
seem, for you, the wrong companions -
You were warm and gentle…
Too many years fighting back tears…
Why can't the past just die…?

Rele hugged her shoulders as she sobbed.

Wishing you were somehow here again…
Knowing we must say goodbye…
Try to forgive, teach me to live…
Give me the strength to try…

Rele took a steadying breath and stood, looking at her mother's grave with resolution.

No more memories, no more silent tears…
No more gazing `cross the wasted years…
Help me say goodbye…
Help me say goodbye!

Rele smiled. “Goodbye, mother. See you later.” She felt a light pressure on her shoulder and span around, but saw nothing. Rele took one last look at the dead queen's grave and walked back to the castle.

!!!!

Unseen to her daughter, Aurora Wintershinn Miya de Lacroa watched Rele walk back to the castle. “Yes, my dear, I am happy. I am very happy. You have done more than I could ever dream.” With that, she disappeared.

Me: Well, what do you think?

Sakura: I thought that none of your stories would be updated for over a month.

Demon Dashi: Yeah, I want to end this staring contest.

Me: GGs Unite! won't be updated for a long while, but scattered one-shots will be appearing.

Shiva: That's what you said about Project Requiem too, you know.

Me: ………. That's being re-written. Anyway, R&R, folks!
