Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Attack of the Furby knockoffs ❯ The Grand Idea ( Chapter 1 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Dr. Eggman sat in his lair, looking through his archive of ideas for robots.

Orbot stood by with a notepad, ready to write down whatever his boss told him.

"The flybot was a good idea." Dr. Eggman said, rubbing his chin. "But how do I keep them from spotting it?"

"Maybe if it was microscopic, like the flea bots, sir." Orbot replied.

"Yes, but they did step on one of the flea bots." Dr. Eggman said. He pulled up his archives of robot blueprints in another tab. "It needs to be something bigger, yet inconspicuous."

Cubot hovered in with an old furby. "Look, what I found in a dumpster, boss."

"That's it!" Dr. Eggman exclaimed. He snatched the furby from Cubot and held it up. "I will use this furby to spy on the blue menace and his friends."

"Sir, no one buys them anymore and wouldn't Sonic be suspicious if a furby is randomly placed in his home?" Orbot asked.

"Hmm, you have a point." Dr. Eggman replied. He rubbed his chin as he looked over the furby. "I need to study this first, find a way to improve it, then sell them through my front company to everyone in the village."

"It's my birthday." Amy said, following Sonic to Tails' workshop. "All I want for a present is to ride on the Blue Force One with you."

"I told you it only seats one." Sonic replied.

Amy scoffed. "You gave Tails a ride yesterday."

"Because that minibike he made broke down." Sonic said, climbing onto the Blue Force One. "I couldn't let him walk that far alone."

Amy folded her arms. "You still gave him a ride and you haven't bought me anything for my birthday."

Sonic shook his head. "I got you a card last- oh, no, I saw one about a chicken funeral and thought Knuckles would like it." He said. He slid up to give Amy a little room on the seat. "Hop on."

Amy climbed on and wrapped her arms around Sonic.

Sonic tensed up. "She can't just hold onto the seat." He muttered under his breath.

"Did you say something?" Amy asked.

"I… uh… I asked if you wanted to get something to eat." Sonic said.

"Maybe later." Amy replied. "Just give me a ride around the village."

Sonic started the Blue Force One and drove into the village.

"You're right." Amy said, tightening her grip on Sonic's waist. "There really isn't room for more than one."

"You should've listened to me." Sonic replied. "Can you loosen up a little? I feel like I'm being squeezed by a boa constrictor. I'm not even going that fast."

"Sorry." Amy said, slightly loosening her grip. She looked at Sonic's shoulder spines, which were matted together in a small patch. "What kind of gel do you have in your spines?"

"What?" Sonic asked. "Oh. I found a new coconut husk, then self-anointed. I thought I cleaned my spines better."

"That's just disgusting." Amy muttered. She did a double take at a table in front of a nearby shop. "Ooh, stop!"

Sonic stopped the Blue Force One in front of one of the village stores.

Amy dragged Sonic off of the Blue Force One and over to a table with a bunch of egg shaped stuffed animals, with bee stripes with furby eyes and ears, on it.

"Aren't they cute?" Amy squealed.

"Furby knockoffs?" Sonic asked.

"Knock-off or not, it's adorable." Amy replied. She picked up a pink and red striped one with lavender eyes. She read the tag. "It's called the egg-bee. It has an app where you can unlock new features. It can dance and sing to your favorite songs. It learns on almost the same level as a toddler."

Sonic picked up a blue and black striped egg-bee with gray eyes and mohawk. "This one does look cool." He said. "And it's only ten bucks? This is your birthday gift."

Amy hugged Sonic. "Oh, thank you." She said. She realized she was hugging him and let go. "My friend who… I… uh-"

Sonic held his hand up. "Yeah, I get it."
