"I'm sorry, I still don't have any idea on how to cure you." Tails said, shrugging.

"You're doing your best." Manic replied. "I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Sonic sighed. "I should've told Sal, but I was sure you'd figure it out by now."

Sonia checked her watch. "Sally should be on her way over. What do you want me to tell her?"

Sonic rubbed the back of his head. "Would she believe the truth?"

"Well, we can't send her out with Manic even if he's in your body." Sonia said.

Manic stared at Sonic.

"Why do you keep staring at me, bro?" Sonic asked.

"I'm just admiring myself." Manic replied.

Sonic huffed. "Stop it. It's weird."

"You better not do anything to my spines, tattoos, or piercings if you're stuck in my body." Manic said, propping his head up with his fist.

"Trust me. I'm trying my best to pretend I'm not in your body." Sonic replied.

Manic narrowed his eyes. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It can mean whatever the heck you want it to mean." Sonic snapped. "Do you like being stuck in my body?"

"No way." Manic said, shaking his head.

"There you go. End of discussion." Sonia said, holding her hands up. "Boys, I'm not in the mood for this."

"Sorry." Manic and Sonic muttered.

Sonia turned around as someone knocked on the door. "That's Sally," She said. "Brace yourselves."

"I don't like the ominous way she said that." Sonic said.

"I thought she was referencing Mr. Bean." Manic replied.

Sally stared off with a thousand yard stare for a few minutes after hearing this story, desperately trying to process this weird information. "So… Sonic's in Manic's body and you're not sure it's reversible?"

Tails nodded. "I've been running tests, but I don't know how long it'll take."

Sally sighed. "So if this is permanent, where are we at, Sonic?"

Sonic gave Sally an incredulous look. "You'd dump me over this?" He asked. "That's pretty low to dump me in my time of need."

"I don't want to, but… I know it's still you in a way." Sally replied. She reached to hold Sonic's (in Manic's body) hands but pulled her hands back. "But it's weird and-"

"I was just thinking." Manic said, rubbing his chin.

"Here we go." Sonia and Sonic muttered.

"So if we can't switch back and Sally doesn't break up with Sonic." Manic continued. "If they have kids, they'd technically be mine because Sonic's in my body, right?"

Sally grimaced while Sonia and Tails gave Manic an "are you kidding me" look.

Sonic threw his phone at the side of Manic's head. "Shut up!"

The phone bounced off of Manic's head.

"Ow!" Manic cried. He rubbed his head. "I had it coming."

"Have you ever thought of touching the rock at the same time again?" Sally asked.

Tails slapped his hand over his face. "Why didn't I think of that?"

The siblings, Sally, and Tails headed to Tails' workshop.

Sonic and Manic looked at the rock and held their hands over it.

"Ready?" Sonic asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Manic replied.

"On three?" Sonic asked.

Manic nodded.

"One, two, three!" Sonic yelled.

Manic and Sonic touched the rock.

Sonia, Sally, and Tails stepped out of the room as the meteor sparked again.

Manic and Sonic slowly woke up and opened their eyes.

"It worked!" Manic and Sonic exclaimed.

Sally, Tails, and Sonia rushed in.

Sally hugged Sonic. "Come on, I'll get you a chili dog to celebrate having you back."

"Isn't the chili dog stand closed?" Sonic asked.

Manic checked his watch. "We've been out for a while." He said. "It's Saturday; five in the afternoon."

Sonic slowly got up. "Eh, better late than never." He said. "See you, guys."

Sonic took Sally's hand and raced out.

Manic got up. "Anyone want to watch a movie with me?"

Sonia and Tails shrugged.

"Fine with me, but no Terminator movies." Tails replied.

"Jurassic park then?" Manic asked.

"Sounds good." Tails replied. "I'll make the popcorn."
