Shadow arrived at Starline’s home to find Surge and Kit waiting outside the gate.

 Shadow climbed off his motorcycle. “Aren’t you supposed to be with the others?”

 “Sonic and his team have it covered.” Surge replied. “We figured you need a hand with his security system.”

 “Do I look like I need your help?” Shadow questioned.

 “Do you have electrical powers and a hydropack?” Surge asked. She shrugged. “Sure, try to knock it out with a Chaos blast, but he built his systems to withstand it. But if you use a combo of our tech and powers with yours, it’s done. You can go right in and do what you gotta do with that freak.”

 “Fine, let’s get this over with.” Shadow replied.

 Surge smirked as she charged up her powers.

 Shadow, Surge, and Kit took out the security systems and made it inside the home.

 Drones surrounded them.

 Surge groaned. “I’m out of power.”

 “Leave now.” Shadow said, taking off his inhibitor rings.

 Surge and Kit ran out of the house.

 Shadow let his Chaos Energy build up, then blasted the drones.

 The drones exploded as the lights flickered off.

 Shadow walked through the dark house as he put his inhibitor rings back on.

 Starline chuckled. 

 Shadow stopped and looked around.

 “That was foolish.” Starline said, stepping out of a room. “How do you expect to find me now? Hedgehogs have poor night vision, didn’t you know that?”

 “Didn’t you know I’m not a normal hedgehog?” Shadow asked. He pulled his gun out of his coat. “Foolish of you not to know your enemy.”

 Starline aimed his gun at Shadow.

 Shadow aimed his gun and fired before Starline could. He checked to see if Starline was still alive, then walked away when he realized the platypus was gone.

 Shadow arrived at Tails’ workshop where everyone was gathered.

 Sonic stepped over. “I heard it’s over.” He said. “Thanks for helping Mom.”

 “She’s done a lot for me, it’s the least I could do.” Shadow said.

 Sonic walked Shadow inside the workshop. “Dinner’s ready.” He said. “I hope you like pizza. None of us felt like cooking, so we ordered out.”

 “It’s fine.” Shadow replied.

 The entire family and team Sonic was gathered in the living room while eating pizza and watching a terrible movie about a giant killer sheep.

 Sonia set her plate down on the coffee table. “You look exhausted.” 

 “I am.” Shadow said. He helped himself to some pizza and a can of cherry soda, then joined the others in the living room. He sat down beside Sonia.

 Sonia smiled and patted Shadow on the back.
