Shadow sat on the steps of his home, sipping coffee as he watched the sunset.

 Sonia came out of the house with a cup of tea and sat down beside Shadow. “Mother said she’s willing to babysit Maria when we go on our anniversary trip next week.”

 “Is she prepared to handle a huffy three month old with Chaos powers?” Shadow asked.

 “I think she’ll be fine.” Sonia replied. “Maria loves it over there since Mother spoils her.”

 Shadow chuckled. “Of course.”

 “So you never told me where we’re going.” Sonia said. 

 “It’s a surprise.” Shadow replied.

 “You know I don’t like surprises.” Sonia said, playing with Shadow’s spines.

 “Fine, I’m taking you to Emerald island.” Shadow replied.

 Sonia smiled. “Aww, you remembered.”

 “You mention it enough.” Shadow said.

 Sonia hugged Shadow. “But you listen.” She replied. “I love you.”

 “Love you too.” Shadow said, putting his arm around Sonia.

 Sonia snuggled against Shadow as she sipped her tea.
