- "So you've already got four locator cards, huh? That's impressive.

- Thanks, Yugi. Hey, how about you?

- I've got one.

- Same here." Said Joey. Then I had an idea.

- "Say, how about we play a tag-team duel? 2-on-2?

- But who'll play on your Team?

- I will!" Came a voice. Running towards us was a slim, brown-haired young girl. She had ice-blue eyes, and she wore a white t-shirt, blue jacket, and black jeans. She also did not have a Duel Disk, though.

- "Hey, Yuna. Guys, this is my girlfriend Yuna Takada. Yuna, this is Yugi Motou, and Joey Wheeler. That's Tristan Taylor, and over there's Tea Gardner." Everyone said hello, and she sat down to catch her breath. Then, Yugi asked:

- "How're we going to duel, if she's not participating in Battle City?

CHP.3: Tag-Team Duel

- We can do this independently of Battle City. We'll each bet 1 Locator card. Since Yuna hasn't got any, I'll bet two. Both players on one team have to be eliminated for the duel to end." I removed my Duel Disk, and Yugi and Joey did the same. The Millenium Eye, on Yugi's Puzzle, flared brightly, and his eyes narrowed. He'd switched into his alternate, dark personality, Yami Yugi. We set out 4 Electronic Placemats, connected to a LifePoint Counter, and began.

- "We'll each start out with 4000 LifePoints, and we'll take turns in this order: first me, then Yugi, then Yuna, and then Joey. Ok?" everyone nodded. "Right, then. I'll start by setting two cards face-down, and a monster in attack mode: Gearfried the Iron Knight (atk: 1800). I'll end my turn.

- I play The Swords of Revealing Light. Then, I set 1 monster face down, in defense mode.

- Ok, I'll play Dunames Dark Witch in attack mode (atk: 1800), and set 1 face down card. Joey, it's your turn.

- All right then, I play 1 card facedown, and Alligator Sword in attack mode, equipped with Black Pendant (atk: 2000)

- Chain with Gravity Bind!" I said hurriedly.

- "DAMN! That means I can't attack! I'll end my turn.

- Now, I play a monster in defense mode: Serpentine Princess! (def: 2000)Then, I activate Mask of Restrict. It's your turn, Yugi.

- I chain your Mask with Light of Intervention!" said Yuna

- Very well." Yugi stopped to think <with those Trap Cards in play, and a facedown card, who nows what he's planning. Plus, she's probably got a few tricks up her sleeve as well. At the end of her next turn, my Swords'll fade. I can't use Man-eater Bug, or Trap master, But I've drawn what I needed!> "I play Curtain of Black Magic! (YM:2000) Summon the Dark Magician, in attack mode! Then, I activate Life Absorbing Machine. Your turn, Yuna.

- Set two cards, and play Hysteric Fairy in attack mode! (atk: 1800) Then, I play Card Destruction.

- <score! Just the card I need!>"Damn. That was unexpected." I scowled.

- God, now my Red-Eyes is in the Graveyard!

- Joey…"Yugi shot his partner a warning glance, then showed him his hand.

- "But I'm not finished. Play Polymerization, to summon St Joan in attack mode (atk: 2800), then, remove Forgiving Maiden and Shining Angel from play, to Special Summon Soul of Purity and Light, also in attack mode! (atk: 2000). Joey, your turn.

- Set 1 trap, and summon Baby Dragon in Defense Mode. (def: 700).End my turn! <With my Kunai with Chain on the field, the first to attack is History!> Joey smirked.

- "Joey, You gotta learn to keep a poker face. For example: Giant Trunade, reset my cards. Sacrifice Gearfried and Serpentine princess for…guess: it's a level 7, fire-class effect monster, with high stats. No? here it is: My deck's ultimate monster, a monster exceeded by only Blue-eyes White Dragon, the Tyrant Dragon, in attack mode! (atk: 2900) Tyrant Dragon, attack Dark Magician! (YM: 1600). Your turn. Did I smirk when I drew my dragon, three turns ago? No.

- Reset my cards, activate Life Absorbing Machine, and Dian Keto the Cure Master, to increase my LifePoints by 1000 (YM: 2600). I set 1 monster facedown, and end my turn.

- My turn, then. Reactivate Mask of Restrict, summon Panther Warrior in attack mode. Tyrant Dragon, attack yugi's facedown card" Big Shield Guardna is revealed, and destroyed.

- Chain your attack, with Numinous Healer! (YM: 3600).

- Ok. Activate Bad Reaction to Simoochi, then Snatch Steal Joey's Alligator Sword. You're up, Yug.

- Play Call of the Haunted to bring back my Dark Magician, equipped with Black pendant (atk: 3000)

- Chain your summon Gravity Bind.

- Your turn, Yuna.

- Summon Cyber Harpie in attack mode (atk: 1800), play Elegant Egotist to Special Summon Harpie Lady Sisters (atk: 1950). Reactivate Light of Intervention, end turn.

- Ok, then. It's my turn (JW: 3000). What? How'd I lose LifePoints?

- My Snatch Steal's effect means you should have gained. But my Trap Card reversed that effect. So you lost 1000.

- Damn. Monster Reborn my Red-Eyes Black dragon, in attack mode, equipped with Dragon Nails (atk: 3100). End my turn.

- Right. Summon Zombyra the Dark, in attack mode (atk: 2100). Your turn, Yugi.

- I'll pass. Yuna, your turn.

- Play Heavy Storm, so the Dark Magician's gone. Attack Yugi with St Joan, and Soul of Purity and Light. (YM; 0000). End my turn.

- Right. Change of Heart St Joan. Activate Riryoku, select Soul of Purity and Light, and St Joan (SPL atk: 1000) (SJ atk: 3800). Attack with St Joan (YT: 1200). Then, attack with Alligator's Sword! (YT: 0000). Set two cards, your turn, Will.

- I play a monster in defense mode. Your turn Joey.

- I activate Dark Hole, then the Shallow Grave. I reborn my Red-Eyes, in attack mode.

- And I my Tyrant Dragon, in attack mode.

- Equip red-eyes with metalmorph (atk: 2700), and attack Tyrant Dragon! (WP: 2750) your turn.

- I set 1 monster face-down. Your turn.

- I summon Panther Warrior, and I end my turn.

- I set 1 monster face-down. Your turn.

- Change of Heart your left face-down. Sacrifice it for Panther Warrior to attack your other one!" Man-Eater Bug.

- "I pick Panther Warrior to be destroyed.

- Red-Eyes, equip Rush Recklessly (atk: 3000). Attack! (WP: 0000).

- Well, you and Yugi each get 1 locator card. Congratulations.

- Thanks. You've got an awesome deck.

- Yours aren't bad either. Though I recommend you swap your Red-Eyes for a Summoned Skull or something.

- Hell, no! My Red-Eyes is way more meaningful to me than that. It's a symbol of our friendship. Now, I've gotta give it back to ya, pal." Joey turned to Yugi.

- "What do you mean, Joey?

- Well. It's yours, really. I lost it, and you won it from that guy. And after this is over, I promise you, that you an' me'll duel for it. 'til then, keep it safe for me.

- I will, Joey." Then, Tristan spoke up "Hey, remember in Duelist Kingdom, when we all put pur favorite cards in Yugi's deck, and then Bakura locked our souls into the cards?

- Yeah!

- Well, it's like that. Joey's got a little of Yugi in his deck, you know, 'cuz of Time Wizard, and now Yugi's got Joey's Red-Eyes in his deck, so it's like each one's got a part of the other in his deck!

- Tristan's right." Yuna said. "Likewise, Will and I traded cards before Battle City. He's got my Mystical Elf in his deck, and I've got his dark Elf in mine." They showed everyone the cards. "That way, even when we're in completely different places, or even dueling against each other, in a way, the two of us are always together.

- It's a symbol of friendship." I said, and smiled inwardly, for I had a feeling that soon enough, the Red-Eyes Black Dragon would be the only thing keeping the two of them together, and protecting their friendship…
