Act 1 Epilogue

My Balthazar dissipated, the opponent's attack destroying it with ease. I was shocked, my macabre of monsters having failed what I set out to do. Regardless, the duel had been reasonably fun. As the effect of his card dissipated, I walked over to him, my robes exploding around me as my mighty sword came back into view. Reaching for my trench coat I swung it over me, ending with my hand sticking out for a shake.

MY opponent just looked at it, and that's when I realized he was transforming, his face blurring and becoming distorted, like the whole world was mutating into something I couldn't understand. No! It wasn't that. Something else. My world was fading from me, but how could that be. Though average as a duel, my will is strongest anywhere. How could I…be falling, my knees sinking into the steel ground like it was mud, my mind….my mind….

My opponent. Was he standing there now. Something was…. I could feel it yet sense nothing. Exquisite pain ejaculated throughout me, and I slumped away, free from everything.
