Knock Outs

Nicola was having a smoke outside a fruit shop. The manager was outside trying to sell his fruit but Nicola's smoke was scaring people away. The manager looked at her

"Hey, why don't you beat it kid? You are driving away my business"

"Shop shouldn't even be open on days like this. This is the Battle Tournament and for that time, the duellists run the show"

He picked up a cane

"I'm warning you"

He raised his arm to strike her but something stopped him. The man looked at someone grabbing his arm

"Kiaba!"

"Get lost old man!"

The old man ran back into his shop and Kiaba turned to Nicola

"Glad to see your making friends with the locals"

"I do what I want when I want"

Kiaba narrowed his eyes at her

"I know I'm being contradictory here but in this tournament all players must maintain good manners to their opponents and to spectators and other people, understand"

"Yeah whatever. Besides what's with his new attitude? I thought you were as laid back as I was?"

"Duellists have been complaining of improper conduct in the duels and locals are complaining about the duellists. All business men must me on the same page as the locals to stay on top"

"Well Kiaba that's a great philosophy"

"You are not taking me seriously! It's not my fault I'm busy all the time. Besides you broke up with me!"

Nicola walked off and Kiaba kicked over a table and he too walked off. The Manager of the fruit store saw Oranges on the ground and he shouted to Kiaba

"Damn you Kid!"

Bakura was flicking through his deck as he looked at his Necrofear

"Finally I can play freely in Battle City"

Nicola stormed past him and she made Bakura spill his cup of tea. He looked up

"Never spill an English man's tea"

Nicola stopped

"Was someone speaking to me?"

"You guess correctly and you split my tea. Pay for it, or duel me"

Nicola smiled

"Just what I needed"

They readied their disks and the life points came to 4000.

"1 Locator card on this game. Ladies first. I'll summon the Magical ghost in attack mode and two cards face down"

Bakura drew

"Headless Knight in attack mode and I'll equip it with the Dark Energy to increase its attack power to 1750 and I will also place a monster face down in defence mode"

Nicola drew again

"I too will place a monster face down in defence mode then I will sacrifice my Magical Ghost to summon Spinal the Skull Warrior!"

Bakura raised his eyebrows

"Darn. I should have taken out her monster"

"Attack his face down monster"

Nicola's monster tried to slash the card but her monster came back to her hand and she lost 50 life points. Bakura smiled as the Wall of Illusion appeared on his side of the field

"You fell for my trap and now you will pay for it even more so with a direct attack from the Headless Knight!"

The Headless Knight slashed at Nicola and her life points dropped to 2200. Nicola drew her next card

"Reveal Card of Safe Return and the Shallow Grave"

Nicola's monster Spinal return in defence mode and she drew a new card

"And now I'll flip Bite Shoes to place your Wall of Illusion into attack mode and I'll sacrifice my Bite Shoes to summon the Patrician of Darkness!"

A large vampire life creature appeared on the field

"Attack his Wall of Illusion!"

Nicola's monster easily sliced the Wall down the middle and Bakura's life points hit 3000 and Nicola's monster appeared back in her hand. Bakura drew his next card

"I will now sacrifice my Headless Knight to summon the Lesser Fiend in attack mode then I play the Pot of Greed to let me draw two more cards and then I will set a monster face down in defence mode"

"Now I can play monster back into attack mode. I'll summon the Skull Servant in defence mode and I'll attack your monster!"

"Wrong, flip face down card, Winged Minon!"

"What's that?"

"If I sacrifice this face up monster I can increase the attack points of a fiend monster on the field by 700 making my monster 500 points stronger than yours!"

Bakura's monster took out Spinal and Nicola's life points dropped to 1700. Nicola drew her next card

"Change of Heart, come to me Lesser Fiend!"

Bakura's monster came to Nicola's side of the field

"And then I'll play Revival of Dokurorider. I'll sacrifice my monsters on the field to summon Dokurorider in attack mode!"

Nicola laughed as her Zombie monster appeared on the field

"And now you have no monsters to defend your life points. Attack his life points directly!"

Bakura was slashed by Nicola's monster and his life points dropped to 1100

"I am now ahead"

"But that will change as I summon the Dark Necrofear"

"Oh no, I forgot about his monster"

A tall thin monster appeared on the field

"Necrofear, attack her monster now!"

The Dark Necrofear fired its eyebeams and Nicola's monster was wiped out taking her life points down to 1400. Nicola drew her next card

"Monster Reborn to revive my Ghost then I will sacrifice my Skull Servant and my Ghost to summon the Dark Necromancer!"

A ghost like monster appeared on the field

"And as you should know. Necromancers hold power over the dead and I can revive a monster lost to my graveyard for each turn"

"Yes with half their attack points and in defence mode as well. Not to mention that when you run out of monsters to summon your monster will be destroyed"

"Watch and learn kid. Monster slayer!"

Nicola put 5 of her monsters into the Graveyard. Bakura was stunned

"Now he will stay right there. Attack his Dark Necrofear!"

Nicola's monster wiped out Bakura's Necrofear and Nicola's monster then came to Bakura's side of the field

"What!"

"It's the second effect of my monster. Once it's destroyed, its spirit possesses the soul of my opponents monster and brings it to me. But I can't attack for now so I will pass"

Nicola drew her card and Bakura's Lesser fiend was place back on the field in defence mode. Nicola then remembered and she smiled

"A monster face down in defence mode. That ends my turn"

"Perfect. Necromancer attack her monster now!"

Bakura's monster easily sliced down Nicola's face down monster but the Necromancer was destroyed

"What!"

Nicola smiled

"You just removed your only monsters in the graveyard from play after you summon the Dark Necrofear"

Nicola laughed

"And you can't summon your Dark Necrofear either. I will play Stop defence to force your monster into attack mode with only 1050 attack points"

"No, this can't be"

"And finally I will play the Dark Magic Curtain so I can forfeit half my life points to summon the Undertaker!"

A large cloaked man appeared on the field. Her monsters attack power rose to 700

"Undertaker attack his Lesser Fiend now!"

Nicola's monster sliced down Bakura's monster and his life points hit 0. He fell to his knees and he was a little shaken

"Beaten by a girl. How embarrassing"

"A girl that will make it to the finals. Locator card please"

Bakura handed her his locator card and he walked off

"I just put out a top notch duellist. The rest of the field should be cake"

She walked off

Mai was at a coffee shop having a cup of coffee. She already had 3 locator cards

"These tournaments are a piece of cake. Mainly because I choose my opponents well cause they are little fish compared to me"

Nicola walked past her, obviously steaming after what Kiaba said to her

"That girl's mad."

She looked further down the street and Kiaba was walking towards her

"Bingo. You know, I need a challenge. Hey Kiaba!"

Kiaba looked up

"Hey there tough guy. What's up"

"None of your concern"

"Well judging by the Nicola was acting I'm guessing it was something to do with her"

"Enough!"

"Ok, ok. I just want to duel you"

"Duel me? Have you lost it?"

"I need a challenge Kiaba and I can't be the best unless I beat the best"

Kiaba smiled

"Challenge accepted"

Mia smiled as they readied their decks and the their duel disks. The life points scanners came up at 4000

"3 Locator cards on this game"

"Agreed now ladies first"

She drew her card

"First the Ancient Elf in attack mode a monster card face down defence mode and another card face down"

Kiaba drew

"Kojikocy in attack mode, a monster in defence mode and two cards face down. Attack her monster now!"

Kiaba's monster slashed down her Ancient Elf and Mia's life points dropped to 3950. Mia shrugged and sarcastically said

"Oh 50 life points, I've lost already"

She drew her next card

"I will summon the Goddess of Whim in attack mode"

Kiaba smiled

"Risky move Mia"

"I'm willing."

She flicked a coin and she caught it

"I call heads"

She looked at the coin

"I did it!"

Her monsters attack power increased to 1900

"Attack his Kojikocy now!"

Mia's monster easily wiped out Kiaba's monster and his life points dropped to 3600. Kiaba drew his card

"Lord of Dragon's in attack mode then I flip Hane Hane to send your face down monster to your hand"

Her monster card was placed back into her hand

"And now, Lord of Dragon's, attack her Goddess now!"

Kiaba's monster destroyed Mia's monster and her life points hit 3700. Mia drew again

"Harpy lady in attack mode"

`Oh no. The Sisters are coming'

"And I play Graceful charity to draw three cards and discard two of them"

She drew her cards and she laughed. She discarded her other two cards

"Elegant Egotist!"

`I knew it!'

Three Harpies appeared on the field

"And now destroy his Lord of Dragon's!"

The Harpies fired an attack together wiping out the Lord of Dragon's and Kiaba's life points dove to 2550. Kiaba drew his card

`The flute of summoning Dragon! I have one Blue Eyes in my hand but I can't summon it yet and my Lord of Dragon's is gone'

"Rogue Doll in defence mode"

"Harpies, take it out!"

The Harpy ladies took out Kiaba's monster and his life points dropped to 1100

"What happened!"

"When you placed your monster into defence mode you activated my trap, Fairy Meteor Crush. If you place a monster in defence mode the damage will still be calculated so this is your last move. Better make it a good one"

Kiaba closed his eyes

`I put my faith into this card'

Kiaba drew it and he laughed

"I have done it. Monster Reborn!"

Mai was stunned. Kiaba's lord of Dragon's appeared on the field

"And now I play the Flute of summoning Dragon to summon two of my Blue Eyes White Dragon's!"

Both of Kiaba's monster roared as they appeared on the field and he laughed but Mia wasn't worried

"And finally I will sacrifice Hane-Hane to summon the Judge Man. Blue Eyes attack her Harpies now!"

The Blue eyes Launched its attack but it was reflected back and its attack power was cut to 1500

"What's happening!"

Mia showed another face up card

"Mirror Wall!"

"Yes Kiaba and now I'll make my Harpy Ladies attack your Blue Eyes!"

Mia's monsters attacked Kiaba's Blue Eyes and destroyed it. Kiaba's life points dropped to 50. Mai laughed

"I am about to defeat the great Seto Kiaba"

She laughed but Kiaba smiled

"Blue Eyes attack now!"

The Blue eyes fired its attack and it wiped out Mia's monster and her life points hit 2950. Mia was stunned

"What happened!"

"The effects of Mirror wall only last once per turn so when my Blue Eyes attacked it, its turn was over. I'll now equip my Judge Man with the Lightening Blade increasing its power to 3000 and making it strong enough to destroy your life points. Judge Man attack!"

Kiaba's monster slashed at Mai and she fell to the ground. He life points hit 0 and everyone around them was impressed. Kiaba walked to her

"I guess you need to learn more Mia"

Mia gave him his Locator cards and she walked off

"Next time Kiaba. I will put that final nail in your coffin."

Kiaba smiled

"I'm in the finals already after just three matches. I'm good"

Balfour was with Sean and Andrew

"That was a good performance Sean against Johnson. He was pathetic"

"Yeah. You hear about this new duellist? Espa Roba?"

"Roba. Sounds familiar. Physic duellist?"

"That's him. He is wondering around Battle City and this time he is Legit"

"How can he manage that?"

"He is really good now and rumour is that he was Wheeler"

"Ha, should be a piece of cake to take him down"

A voice said to them

"Want to say that to my face?"

Sean looked across and he smiled

"Well Joey Wheeler. I was just saying how easy it would be to defeat you in a duel"

"Well show me your stuff pal"

Sean and Joey faced each other and they set up the holographic producers. They readied their decks and their duel disks. The life points read 4000 and the game was on.

"I wager two locator Cards on this game, since I have 4 already"

"Agreed my only two"

Sean drew first

"First I will summon the Blue Winged Crown in attack mode and two cards face down"

Joey his card

"Ok then. Gearfried the Iron Knight in attack mode and two cards face down. Go slime ball"

Sean drew

"Catapult Turtle in attack mode and I'll play the Trap card double up so not only I can I sacrifice my monster but the full extend of its attack points are taken from your life points"

"Oh great"

Sean's Blue Winged Crown sat on the Catapult turtle and it was launched hitting Wheeler head on and his life points dropped to 2400

"And if you think about attacking again I'll play this. Swords of Revealing Light"

Light Swords surrounded Joey's monster

"Now you are trapped"

Joey drew his card

"I'll place another card face then, and I'll summon Milas Radiant in defence mode to increase my monsters attack power by 500 points"

"You can't do anything Wheeler."

"I'm warming up, now go"

Sean drew his card

"I will summon Alpha the Magnet Warrior and since your Milas Radiant gives a boost to all Earth monsters my Magnet Warrior gets it as well. And I'll now sacrifice him as well."

The monster placed itself on the Catapult

"Launch now!"

Sean's monster was launched at Joey and it struck him down and he was down to 1450

"It won't be long now Wheeler. Like I said, beating you would be a piece of cake"

"Just try and summon another monster on your next turn. I dare you. I'll pass for now"

Sean drew his card and he wasn't happy

"I'll have to pass too"

`Perfect, now's my chance'

He drew his card and he smiled

"Excellent. Roba's card"

Esper Roba was watching the duel and he was laughing at Wheeler

"This guy beat me. I must have lost it back then"

Wheeler smiled

"I'll pass again Sean. And your swords are gone, so Gearfried it free to attack"

"But he won't get the chance. I'll summon Gazelle the King of Mystical Beasts"

"Sorry pal, but you didn't listen to me. Trap Hole"

Sean's monster fell into a deep hole

"What happened?"

"My trap card happened that's what. So now I sacrifice my Gearfried to summon Jinzo!"

Joey's strongest monster appeared on the field and Roba was seething

"My monster!"

Jinzo immediately fired its eyebeams at Sean's Face down card

"Jinzo special ability"

"Yeah I know that one Wheeler"

"And look again, you only have that reptilian launch pad to protect you. Jinzo, take it out!"

Joey's monster easily wiped out Sean's Catapult Turtle and Sean's life points dropped to 2600. Esper smiled

"Seems like Sean has been underestimating this guy"

Sean drew his card

"Humanoid Slime in defence mode"

"Running and hiding. Well I'm going to end you quickly. I play Time Wizard and a monster card face down in defence mode. Jinzo take out the Humanoid Slime"

Jinzo again wiped out Sean's monster. Sean drew again

"Another monster face down in defence mode and one card face down"

`Must be an effect card. Better be careful'

"Reveal Face down monster, Baby Dragon"

Esper was surprised

"Oh this trick again. His Jinzo won't be harmed by this move"

"Time Roulette!"

The Spinner on the staff of the time Wizard began to spin and it eventually stopped on a castle

"Yeah! Go Time warp!"

The field around them fast-forwarded 1000 years and Joey's Baby Dragon became a Thousand Dragon

"Alright, two of my best monsters on the field. You are done Sean boy I'll finish my turn by summoning the Armoured Lizard in attack mode and a card face down"

`Excellent, now Wheeler has a dragon on the field'

Sean drew and he laughed

"I have done it, reveal face down card, Soul Exchange. I'll sacrifice your Jinzo and Thousand Dragon!"

"Hold on there bud. Reveal shift"

"Huh?"

"With this card I can choose where the effects of your Magic card can go. I choose my Milas Radiant and my Armoured Lizard"

Both of Joey's monsters were sacrificed and Sean's Buster Blader appeared on the field

"Uh no!"

Sean smiled

"Behold my strongest monster Wheeler and I must thank you for putting a dragon monster on the field so now my Buster Blader gets a power increase of 500 points for every Dragon on the field and in your graveyard…but wait. Baby Dragon is in there too. So I get an overall increase of 1000. Buster Blader attack!"

Sean's monster easily sliced down Joey's monster and his life points dropped to 250. Sean laughed and Espa chuckled

"It won't be long now Wheeler. You are history"
