The Time Has Come

Michael looked at Stephen's Tri Horned Dragon as it roared in his face. Stephen was on 2750 life points and Michael was on 2850.

"Tri Horned Dragon, take his Feral Imp down now!"

Stephen's dragon burnt Michael's Feral Imp to cinders and his life points dropped to 2000. Michael drew his card

"One monster in defence mode and one card face down"

Stephen drew and his life points rose to 3250.

"I will summon the Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress and I'll attack your face down card!"

Stephen's monster fired a blast of fire at Michael's card but Stephen's life points dropped to 2650

"What?"

The Earthbound Spirit appeared

"Nice try Stephen"

"This next try will work. Tri-Horned Dragon, attack!"

Michael's monster was blasted from the ground and was destroyed. Michael smiled

"Thanks Stephen. I now get to summon the Fiend Megacyber in attack mode!"

A large robotic monster appeared on the field

"Attack his Winged Dragon!"

Michael's monster gave Stephen's dragon a thumping and his life points dropped to 1850.

"I'll finish with a card face down"

Stephen drew and his life points rose to 2350.

"I will sacrifice my Winged Dragon to summon the Sky Dragon in attack mode. And I'll end my turn"

Michael drew his card

"Just Desserts"

Stephen's life points dropped to 850

"This is getting ridiculous"

"I couldn't agree more Stephen. Your Solemn Wishes doesn't seem to be helping you since I am employing life point demolishing tactics. Now I play Paralysing Potion to put to your Tri-Horned Dragon and I'll attack your Sky Dragon with the Fiend Mega Cyber!"

Michael's monster shattered Stephen's dragon and his life points dropped to 550

"One more attack Stephen and its all over I'll finish with a card face down"

Stephen drew his card and his life points rose to 1050. He smiled

"I play The Mask of the Accursed unto your Fiend Mega cyber then I play Eternal Rest"

Both monsters on the field were destroyed

"No!"

"And now. I summon Spear Dragon in attack mode. Hit his life points directly!"

The Spear Dragon hit Michael head on and his life points dropped to 950

"One monster in defence mode"

Stephen drew and his life points rose to 1550

"I play Dragon's Rage so each monster you play in defence mode won't defend your life points. I summon the Blackland Fire Dragon, attack his face down card!"

Stephen's monster singed the card to pieces and Michael's life point dropped to 550. Michael drew again

"Red Medicine, to increase my life points by 500 to 1050. And I'll place another monster in defence mode and thanks to my Mystic Tomato's special ability I can put another dark monster with 1500 attack points or less unto the field"

Stephen played his Spear Dragon back into attack mode as he drew his card, his life points rose to 2050

"Attack the face down card on the left"

Michael smiled as his Witch of the Black Forest was destroyed and his life points dropped to 350.

"I will now sacrifice my Castle of Dark Illusions to summon the Shadow ghoul!"

Michael's ugly monster appeared on the field

"And my monsters attack power is increased to 2400 thanks to all the monsters you destroyed. Shadow Ghoul destroy the Blackland Fire Dragon!"

Michael's monster easily wiped out Stephen's monster and his life points dropped to 1150. Stephen drew his card and he gained another 500 life points. He was on 1650

"One monster in defence mode"

"I'll summon Jinzo #7 in attack mode and I'll attack your life points directly!"

Stephen was struck down by Michael's attack

"And now, Shadow Ghoul destroy that face down card!"

Michael's monster shattered the card. Stephen drew his card and his life points rose back to 1650.

"Another monster in defence mode and a card face down"

Michael smiled

"I now summon The Illusionary Gentleman in attack mode. And one monster in defence mode. Shadow Ghoul, do your thing!"

Michael's monster once again shattered the card and Reynolds looked at Michael's second monster

"Jinzo #7. Life points off please"

Jinzo #7 also hit Stephen head on and his life points dropped to 1150

"End this duel!"

Stephen was quickly struck down by Michael's monster but his life points only dropped to 400

"What?"

Stephen has a card face up

"Chop Block. Halves any life point damage I get"

He drew and his life points rose to 900

"I now play, Death to Rise!"

"What?"

"This allows me to sacrifice two monsters on the field to summon a monster lost by me. I summon the Koumori Dragon and I'll sacrifice it and my Spear Dragon to summon the Tri-Horned Dragon!"

Stephen's monster roared as it appeared on the field and Michael was horrified

"I didn't know he had that card!"

"But luckily I can't attack this turn so get planning"

Michael drew a card and he smiled

"I'll sacrifice both my monsters to summon the Red Eyes Black Dragon!"

Stephen smiled

"I love Dragon's"

"You won't love this one. The Shadow Ghoul gets powered up to 2600. That's me"

Stephen drew and his life points rose to 1400

"Tri Horned Dragon, finish this duel now!"

It tried to attack but it couldn't

"What are you waiting for?"

Stephen looked on Michael's side of the field and Paralysing Potion was face up on the field

"But you used that…"

He also saw the Magician of Faith on the field as well

"No!"

"Your monster has been stopped and I will now play my favourite card, Metal Morph to my Red Eyes then I'll equip him with Dragon Nails!"

Stephen knew he was history

"You lose! Red Eyes, take out the Dragon!"

Michael's monster fired a powerful blast and wiped out Stephen's monster dropping his life points to 950

"And Shadow Ghoul. Finish him!!"

Michael's monster hit Stephen head on and he fell over, his life points dropping to 0. Stephen smiled

"That was an excellent duel Michael"

"Thanks Steve. You did great yourself"

Stephen walked off the field and Espa Roba took his place. Michael walked off and Yugi stood opposite Roba

"The great Yugi Motto, this should be good"

"This won't be a match. I will crush you"

"Then get ready to put your money where your mouth is"

"Duellists begin"

The players drew their five cards

"I will go first Yugi. I'll place a monster in defence mode, one card face down and I play a Feint Plan so you can't attack my face down cards for this turn"

Yugi drew his card

"Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress in attack mode and two cards face down"

"Get planning for now I sacrifice my monster to summon the Great Dezard in attack mode and I flip the Banner of Courage over. And finally I summon Gilasaurus in attack mode"

Yugi was stunned

"Great Dezard, take out his Winged Dragon!"

Roba's monster easily wiped out Yugi's monster and his life points dropped to 3300.

"Gilasaurus, attack his life points now!"

Yugi was hit by Roba's monster and his life points dropped to 1800. Yugi drew again

"Neo the Magic Swordsman in attack mode and another card face down"

"Nice try Yugi but I'll just knock him down like your last monster. But first I activate Ultimate Offering so I can summon another monster the Witches Apprentice"

"Wrong Roba. Reveal Banishment!"

Roba's monster was destroyed

"Great Dezard attack!"

"Hold on there. Spell binding Circle!"

Roba's monster was trapped in a spell circle

"No!"

"Now your monster is out of play. And I now use the Ultimate offering you put down to summon Celtic Guardian and I'll sacrifice my monsters to summon the Dark Magician in attack mode and with that I activate Reinforcements to increase its attack power to 3000. Dark Magician attack Gilasaurus now!"

Yugi's monster fired its Dark Magic and destroyed Roba's monster taking his life points to 2500. Yugi's life points dropped to 1300. Roba drew his next card

"Don Zaloog in defence mode"

"I'll summon the Mystic Clown in attack mode and equip him with the Sword of Dark Destruction. Dark Magician, take out his monster!"

The Dark Magician easily took out Roba's monster

"Mystic Clown, attack his life points now!"

Roba was knocked back by the attack of Yugi's monster and his life points dropped to 600. Roba drew and he laughed

"Remove Trap Yugi"

Yugi's Spellbinding Circle was gone

"Attack his Mystic Clown now!"

Roba's monster smashed down Yugi's Mystic clown and his life points dropped to 1100

"And now I can sacrifice my monster to summon the Fushioh Richie in attack mode and thanks to its special ability I can summon a Zombie from my deck. Poison Mummy in defence mode"

Yugi's life points dropped to 600

"We are now tied Yugi"

Yugi drew his card and he smiled

"I play Monster Reborn to summon the Great Dezard"

"What!"

"And I believe there is another special ability to this monster. For each magic or trap card that effects the field is destroyed by this monster. Great Dezard, destroy the Poison Mummy!"

Yugi's monster smashed down Roba's monster and Roba grit his teeth

"And now you can't use any magic or trap cards. I'll finish with a card face down"

"I don't need any Magic or trap cards. Fushioh Richie, attack his Great Dezard now!"

Roba's monster fired its attack but it was reflected back and Roba's monster was destroyed. Roba was horrified and he saw Yugi had the Mirror Force card face up

"No!"

Yugi smiled

"Roba, would you like to choose which monster will finish you?"

Roba hung his head

"Dark Magician attack!"

Yugi's Dark Magician finished off Roba's life points and Roba fell to his knees in tears. Joey walked to

"Come on Roba. That was a great duel"

"No. I failed, my brothers will be picked on at school now, since I am a loser"

Kiaba looked at him

"Get on your feet and make away for the next duel. It should be a cliff-hanger, let me tell you"

Yugi looked at Kiaba then at Michael standing opposite him

"I can't remember the last time we duelled"

"The Ireland finals. I defeated you there"

"Change in plans. This one is going my way"

"Guess again"

"Duellists begin!"

Each player drew their five cards. Michael drew his first card

"The Illusionary Gentleman in attack mode and two cards face down"

Yugi drew his card

"One card face down. Then I summon Neo the Magic Swordsman, attack his monster now!"

Michael's monster was about to be hit when the Illusionary Gentleman destroyed Yugi's monster instead and Yugi lost 100 life points

"What happened?"

Michael had a face up card on the field

"Reinforcements. Increases my monsters attack point by 500. And now I sacrifice my monster to summon the Patrician of Darkness!"

A vampire like creature appeared on the field

"Attack his life points directly!"

Michael's monster was about to attack when it got caught

"No!"

"The spellbinding Circle. We should both be more careful about attacks like that Michael"

"Don't lecture me Yugi!"

Yugi drew his card

"One monster in defence mode"

Michael drew his card

"I summon Jinzo #7. Attack Yugi's life points!"

Yugi was hit head on by the attack and his life points dropped to 3400. Yugi drew

"I summon Great white in attack mode. Take out his Jinzo!"

"Wrong Yugi. Paralysing Potion!"

Yugi's monster was paralysed and it couldn't move. Michael smiled

"You were saying Yugi?"

Michael drew

"One card in defence mode and I summon the Castle of Dark Illusions in defence mode. Two cards face down as well. Jinzo, same again please!"

Jinzo #7 fired its attack and Yugi's life points dropped to 2900. Yugi drew and he thought

`His field I packed with weak monsters so he must be gearing up for a sacrifice. I have just the thing to stop him'

Yugi closed his eyes and he said

"Heart of the Cards guide me"

Yugi pulled the card and he laid it on the field

"Card Destruction!"

Michael and Yugi folded their hands and Michael sighed

"And that's not all. I play Dark Hole!"

"No!"

All the monsters on the field were annihilated. Michael smiled

"Thank you Yugi, you have placed into my hands."

A card turned up

"Last will lets me summon a monster from my deck to the field with 1500 attack points or less. Witty Phantom in attack mode and that's not all, the face down monster I had was the Mystic Tomato so I can summon another monster to the field. Feral Imp appear"

Two monsters were on Michael's side of the field

"But I am not done. I sacrifice both these monsters to summon the Red Eyes Black Dragon!"

Michael's monster roared as it appeared on the field but light swords began to fall from the sky surrounding Michael's monsters. Michael looked up and he saw Swords of Revealing Light

"Damn it. Oh well I guess you could use the three turns. I pass"

Yugi drew

"I summon the Magical Ghost in attack mode"

Michael drew again

"Pass"

Yugi drew as well

"I'll summon the Mystic clown in attack mode"

Michael thought

`He has a Dark Magician in his hand and he can beat me, unless I draw a monster'

Michael reached for his deck

"My faith is in this card"

Michael drew the Baron of the fiend Sword

"I summon the Baron of the Fiend Sword! And one card face down"

Yugi drew his card

"I now sacrifice both my monsters to summon the Dark Magician in attack mode"

"Excellent move Yugi but you have activated my card. United we Stand!"

Michael's monsters attack power rose to 3100

"Uh no!"

"Red Eyes attack his Dark Magician now!"

Michael's monster easily wiped out Yugi's monster and his life points dropped to 2300.

"Baron, hit him directly!"

Yugi was hit by the Baron of the field Sword and his life points dropped to 750. Michael laughed

"And my last move Yugi. Pillaged"

Yugi showed Michael his hand

"I choose Mirror Force Yugi"

Yugi walked to Michael and he gave him his card. Michael smiled as Yugi drew his card

"Dian Keto the Cure master to increase my life points back to 1750. Then I play Curse Breaker to get rid of that United we Stand then Monster Reborn my Dark Magician and I summon the Dragon Zombie in attack mode. Then the Book of Secret Arts to give to my Dark Magician. Go my monsters attack!"

Michael's Red Eyes was taken out by Yugi's Dark Magician and his life points dropped to 3600 and Michael's Baron was struck dead on by the Dragon Zombie, taking his life points down to 3500. Michael drew his card

"One monster in defence mode"

"One card in defence mode. Dragon Zombie, take out his monster!"

Michael's monster was easily wiped out and Michael looked at Yugi's Dark Magician and he was struck down with its attack and his life points dropped to 1000.

"Yugi, you will pay for that! One card face down and a monster in defence mode"

Yugi smiled

"Flip the Magician of Faith. I will now recall a magic card from my Graveyard. I recall Monster Reborn and I'll use it to revive your Red Eyes Black Dragon!"

Michael's monster roared on Yugi's side of the field and Michael was furious

"Dark Magician, Red Eyes go!"

Both monsters fired their most vicious attack but Michael laughed

"Alls fair that ends fair. You take a card of mine I take a card of yours. Reveal Trap card"

The attack's of Yugi's monsters was deflected and sent right back at Yugi's monsters destroying them all and inflicting 650. He was horrified to see Mirror Force face up on Michael's side of the field

"No!"

"Oh yes Yugi, this tournament is mine! I now Sacrifice my face down monster to summon the Shadow ghoul!"

Michael's green and ugly monster appeared on the field

"Attack Yugi's life points now!"

Yugi was knocked down by the attack of Michael's monster and his life points dropped to 0. Michael smiled, as did Kiaba. Michael walked to Yugi

"That was a great duel Yugi"

Yugi smiled

"And I applaud you myself"

They walked to each other and shook hands. Kiaba walked off and he looked at Roland

"Give him the cheque and get him out of here"

Roland walked to him

"In two days the £500,000 will be transferred to your account"

Michael smiled and he walked off. Yugi stood by Joey

"I am starting to like him, he is an honourable duellist"

"And occasional slime ball if you ask me"

Darren walked off and he passed Nicola.

"I want a match"

Nicola nodded and she walked after Darren. Roba walked off and Stephen ran to catch up with Darren. Yugi and Joey also walked out of the Stadium.

A few days later Kiaba was in his office on the phone as he was preparing for the Battle Royal. He directors of the duelling tour had struck a deal with him to help arrange the tournaments. He has just scored a name off a list

"And it seems like the tournament is set. Seems like we have an all star cast here"

Michael was at home and he rang Kiaba Corp

"Kiaba Corp front desk"

"Hello, put me through to Seto Kiaba"

"I'm sorry sir he is in a meeting"

"Look lady I am not having it, put me through to him now, if he has any objections he can take it up with me"

Michael waited as Seto's phone rang. He pressed the speaker button

"I said no disturbances"

"I'm sorry but this man won't go away and he said if you have any problems that you should take it up with him"

"Put him through"

Michael was put through

"Kiaba"

"Michael? Why ring now"

"I need to know if I'm in the Battle Royal"

"You couldn't have looked on the website"

"The list isn't up"

"It should, but the short answer is yes"

He slammed down the phone and shook his head. Michael smiled

"Lets get ready to rumble"
