They both stared at each other coldly, katanas drawn, yearning for blood to be spilt. Hiei made the first move, using his excellent speed, leaving a bloody mess on Rashika’s shoulder. Eyes narrowed, she waited until he charged again before throwing four knives at him.

The first impaled itself in his left leg, but he managed to avoid the other three. Scowling, he removed the dagger, throwing it carelessly into the crowd. It buried itself in a demon’s forehead. With a strangled cry, he slumped over. The crowd roared with pleasure, urging the fighters for more blood.

Hiei’s speed had dropped, due to the hole in his thigh. Rashika pressed her advantage, rushing Hiei and causing him to back off slightly.

“Ensatsu Ken!” he suddenly yelled, just as she began another onslaught of attacks. Fire erupted, embracing his sword and turning it green. With a growl of surprise, Rashika tried to back off, but she was too close. Hiei began to attack her so fast, it looked like a blur of green harassing her. After a bit of this crazed attacking, he sprung away, letting his katana return to its normal state. Rashika panted, swaying slightly.

“Now die.” she said simply, raising her hand out in front of her. She clenched it. Hiei slowly rose into the air and by the way he began to grunt, he was being squeezed. [ I hate the word grunt when it’s used with him...lol!] Dribbles of blood poured out of the sides of his mouth. He was having difficulty breathing.

Slowly, he lifted his arms. From the way he was struggling, it was apparent that she was trying to stop him. In a painful movement, he threw his katana at her. She dodged it, but while doing so, she dropped Hiei. Casually, she bent down and picked up his katana.

Now she had two blades and he had none. Hiei didn’t look worried, however.

“Clever move. Pity it’ll cost you your life.” he sneered. Shifting into a fighting stance, he smirked and spoke very calmly. “Ensatsu Gengokusho!”

It appeared that both of his hands erupted into flame. Though injured, he still rushed her with respectable speed. With one sword raised above her head and the other before her torso, Rashika patiently awaited his attack. Time seemed to slow as they met head-on.

Hiei punched her wrist holding the sword at her torso, his sword. With a curse, she dropped the blade, but brought the other one down. It sliced deep within his shoulder. Hot blood gushed like a fountain. Hiei glared at her, then grabbed her head with his fiery grasp.

[I don’t like this part...*covers eyes*] She screamed as her flesh bubbled and smoked. A sickening, sweet smell of roasted flesh wafted out to the crowd. They cheered, knowing that the first death of the tournament was right in front of them. She slashed him furiously, but he maintained his burning grasp. After a while, he released her. She slumped to the ground, a skull where her head used to be.

“Pitiful.” Hiei turned, acting as if his injuries bothered him very little. “That, was for _(your name)_.” he said, jumping down from the ring. He walked over to and stood next to Kurama as Tsunake ran onto the ring, refusing to acknowledge your presence.

“Looks like the Yuujou Team is eager to get this fight under way!” Maomi smiled at Tsunake. “Will the fighter for the Doutou Team please come forward!”

A girl with a glaive stepped up.

“Okay! Now that we have two fighters, you may begin!” Naomi cheered. “Tsunake vs Jesse!”

“Ready to die? Or perhaps you’d like to run? You still can, you know. I’ll let you.” Jesse stepped aside, digging her glaive into the tile. Tsunake tilted her head and plastered a fake smile on her face.

“Thank you for teaching me something new. I never realized that idiots talked to themselves as well..” Jesse narrowed her eyes and replied.

“Seems like there’s one standing right in front of me then.” Both girls glowered at each other, then attacked. It was like a bizarre dance; Tsunake attacked and spun in a frenzy while Jesse stabbed and blocked furiously. The only sounds, besides the insistent cheers of the crowd, were clangs, snarls, and heavy breathing.

Then, there was a new sound. You smiled. It was a rip. One of Tsunake’s formidable claws had found a hole in Jesse’s defenses. There was a long tear around her stomach. Tsunake grinned, exposing her fangs. Jesse grinned back, then rammed the non-pointed end of her glaive into Tsunake’s face.

“Dropped your guard, fool.” Jesse smirked, shifting into a defensive stance. Tsunake growled low, rubbing a large bruise that had puffed up almost immediately on her chin. She said nothing in response, only attacking full force. She was in a rage now, a full throttle, unpredictable rage.

“Seems like I’ve struck a nerve.” Jesse laughed. Tsunake growled in return, her silver hair whipping wildly behind her. Jesse managed to jab Tsunake multiple times, only this time, with the pointed end of the glaive. Tsunake grunted in response, but never let up on her crazed attack. Blood was dripping down her face and body.

Suddenly, Jesse leapt back and muttered something under her breath. A wall of flame erupted out of nowhere, racing towards Tsunake. She stumbled, barely managing to get out of the way. She was scalded however, her skin blistering and turning pink. This seemed to be the last straw for Tsunake.

With a roar of rage, she stood there, trembling. A massive surge of power suddenly exploded from Tsunake. The crowd murmured to one another, rippling with excitement. With her eyes afire, she lunged at a surprised Jesse.

Jesse brought her glaive up to block Tsunake’s claws. With a loud snap, the glaive broke in two. Jesse stepped back, a look of shock mingled with disbelief on her face. Tsunake didn’t stop there though.

Her hands found their way to Jesse’s throat. She gasped, clutching at Tsunake’s immobile claws. Jesse closed her eyes and concentrated. Tsunake screeched and released her. Her hands were blistered and red. Jesse smirked and massaged her throat.

Tsunake snarled, shaking her hands a little. A sudden blast of wind shot downward, blasting Tsunake to the edge of the ring.

“Nice try.” she snarled, digging her claws into the tile. Huge gusts of wind continued to pummel Tsunake, but now that she had a firm grip, nothing could unlatch her. Slowly, she dragged herself back to the center of the ring. Jesse narrowed her eyes and stopped harassing Tsunake with the wind.

“This is apparently a job for fire.” Jesse muttered. Almost instantly, a blazing circle of flame surrounded Tsunake. With a growl, she clenched her fists, looking helplessly at the inferno that was slowly getting closer. Jesse had crossed her arms and was smirking victoriously. She clearly planned on letting Tsunake burn in a slow, painful death.

“Not gonna happen.” Tsunake hissed, along with a few other colorful words. Suddenly, it looked as though she remembered something. Placing her hands to her forehead, she cried out. “Ryuukonai!”

Her hands snapped down so she was holding them out in front of her, palms facing Jesse. The same black spears that she had attacked Kuwabara with long ago flowed out of her blistered palms. Jesse recoiled in shock, then yelled as the spears ripped through her body. Though there was no visible damage, Jesse was weakening with every hit.

The flames flickered and died, leaving only a black ring of ash. When the last of the spear assault had ended, Tsunake took off running. Jesse opened her eyes just to see Tsunake’s twin sets of claws screaming towards her. Two slashes on the neck and it was over.

Jesse lay on the ground, unconscious. Tsunake had her claws pressed to Jesse’s throat. The crowd screamed for Tsunake to kill her. Tsunake, however, sheathed her claws and walked away. The crowd hissed angrily and you stared in disbelief. Was this the same girl who loved to kill and was always cold hearted? Tsunake saw you looking at her, promptly flipped you off with her right hand and smirked.

“Told you I could do it.” she sneered, almost seeming more friendly than angry.

I hope that you won’t have to wait so long for the next chapter. I’m really trying to post these as quickly as possible. I still need more people to agree with a next chapter preview before I’ll actually post one. BTW: Ensatsu Gengokusho is translated as Fist of the Mortal Flame.
