Yu Yu Hakusho: Yusuke is dead.
Yusuke Urameshi was a normal teenage boy, until he was killed saving a child from playing in the street. The Wise Ruler Koenma game Yusuke a chance to have his life returned to him. Unfortunately he didn’t get life force transferred to his body in time and must now wait 50 years for his wavelengths to re-align. Now all he can do is watch while as the world turns to ruin. Earth is now ruled by the four saint beasts. Only a rag-tag group of humans are opposing his rule, and their numbers are dwindling. Yusuke helps the only way he can, by guiding his old Rival Kuwabara in their fight against Suzaku. Kuwabara is the right hand man of the rebel leader Musashi. Kuwabara hears of a laboratory that is manufacturing powerful soldiers for Suzaku, out of humans. He, Kazemaru, and Shorin break into these facilities in hopes of bringing down the lab and saving the experiments from further suffering.
The Dark Streets of the city loomed around the Three as they walked through night. “Mr. Kuwabara are you sure it is a good idea to go without Mr. Musashi’s permission?” Shorin spoke with overt fear in his voice, “he wasn’t around, and I’m not going to make those people wait...” he adds under his breath “...I just hope Yusuke is right about this.” Kazemaru sneers at Shorin, “As long as your careful this shouldn’t be a problem, though these streets were dangerous even before demons walked them.” They continued walking down the imposing streets, their respective Reikis just under their skin. Suddenly a distinct chill runs through Kuwabara’s body. “It’s right here.” Kuwabara moves a soiled mattress from a wall behind a dilapidated building. Behind it is a solid Iron door. Kuwabara cracks his knuckles and holds out his hand. As he does so an orange blade erupts from it. As he does so thinks about the first time he ever had this happen. He had tracked down a demon named Gouki that was stealing the souls of Children, he cornered him in the forest and forced him to fight. The demon possessed incredible strength and skin as hard as stone, he surely would have died if Musashi hadn’t have wandered by during this altercation. Him being a professional demon slayer came to help, when he preformed his Shibattou Shining sword technique on the rock hard creature a piece of the sword broke off. Kuwabara had picked it up instinctively and when the demon had thrown Musashi away like a rag doll, he went for kuwabara again. Gouki struck downwards with his claw and the Spirit sword, came from the hilt and deflected Gouki’s attack. Then stuck the sword through his mouth and out the back, and kept swinging until he was dead. Musashi seeing the boy’s raw talent took him under his wing and taught him how to use a sword properly. Others joined them and that was how the resistance started. Kuwabara then Shakes off his daze I must be tired, I’m daydreaming, I gotta stay focused “Heh, no stupid door is going to stop us” Shorin steps forward even more afraid then he was before, “Mr. Kuwabara, I think I can open it a little more quietly.” Shorin pulls out a lock pick and goes to work on the door. After a few minutes he gets the door open. Kazemaru shoves Shorin out of the way. “Nice to see that you’re finally good for something shrimp.” Shorin gets up and smiles impishly. “I’ll try harder to be strong like you Kazemaru.” They walk into a large laboratory, it is dirty and poorly lighted, blood stains are on the utensils and the cages and the humans lie like hulking masses in their restraints. Most of them have been long dead and are on their way to complete decay. Shorin runs back into the alley and the other hear the distinct sounds of vomiting. Kazemaru doesn’t show any emotion on his face but is only looking at the floor. Kuwabara falls to the ground, on his knees. The smell of corpses was over powering and all he could bring himself to do is cry. In the alley, you hear Shorin’s vomiting turn slowly into crying as well. Finally Kazemaru screams with Rage and fires a giant blue wave on energy from his palm that incinerates a good number of bodies. “We were too late. Where did you get your information anyway? These people have been dead for weeks.” Kuwabara hadn’t even thought of that yet. This isn’t the type of prank Yusuke would pull, no matter how much of a punk he was in life. He must have been tricked. “Who would think to trick a ghost?”Kuwabara asks out loud. The Crying outside turns to laughing as the Shorin rise from the ground and walks back in the room. “Me, I was just ordered to kill you, but I wanted you to see how hopeless your struggle was. I wouldn’t want you to think your death wasn’t in vain.” Kuwabara’s shook with rage, “Why Shorin, Why would you betray your own kind.” Shorin laughed in a voice that was becoming less and less his own. “I am not your kind, I am Rando the human hunter, and your powers have already been incorporated into my little collection. I’d offer you quick death but that would just take all the fun out of it.” Kuwabara’s sword illuminates the room, and holds at the ready, alright Musashi let’s put your training to the test.
