Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this story. I've read the FAKE manga of course and what you did was a nice twist, making their romance into a Romeo + Juliet/star-crossed-lovers drama. I think you posted a while back that you were discouraged and not going to post anymore, so I felt compelled to let you know how much I truly enjoyed In Another Life - I've come back and re-read it a few times and still enjoy it - the characters are true and the dialogue is great. Most of the fics out there pick up where the manga ends, but I really enjoyed watching them fall in love. I particularly like the scene when Ryo goes to visit Dee wearing the wire - so poignant! Anyway, in short - loved it, would love to see a part 2! Does Leo reappear? Does Rose try to exact revenge upon Dee for stealing Ryo away? Does Franklin McLean discover his grandson's whereabouts and menace the happy couple? How does Dee and Ryo's relationship change now that they're in a totally different environment? What does Dee do for a living now that he's no longer in the mafia? The list goes on!!! Thanks again for a great story.

This has got to be one of the best FAKE fanfics I have ever read. No doubt about it. Maybe I loved it so much because I have often pondered how things would have worked out if Dee had chosen a life of crime. And of course he and Ryo would have to get together no matter what! They have soul mates written all over them (*hides sharpie*). But seriously, what would a FAKE fanfic be without them getting together? I live for the sap between them. In this fic, I especially love, love, love Dee's character. He's just so... awesome! Funny how crook almost fits him better than cop... Haha, no, I just think it makes him more sexy. Anyways, my mind is running off without me here. So, thanks for the wonderful fic, and I encourage you to write these AU fics because they're so refreshing. And I like what-if situations. And sometimes I have no idea why the hell people bitch so much about awesome AU fics.

I can't believe you rewrote the whole story!!!! That is so cool! I do have to say it's a lot more exciting and interesting then the orignal but don't tell Sanami Matoh(cause i still love fake and until the full moon!!)

Hey...I just got an e-mail...well really like 12 e-mails from mediaminer saying that you had posted a new fic.(Isn't the favorite author's list amazing?)I was very excited to see that and went on right away to read. Imagine my surprise when I found this was an AU.(It was something along the lines of GASP!!!! call the FBI/POLICE/FIRE DPT...the end of the world is nigh!)Sorry but many AUs I read are ....dare I say it?...crap... Most thankfully(as in 'oh shit theere is a god and he loves me...sorry for the foul language oh mighty one')your portrayal of Dee as a hitman and Ryo's partner-less cop-hood was a very convincing and captivating tale. I would be thrilled if you posted your other ideas for AUz with the beloved Fake characters...and I would eagerly read them.^.^ A note about the ratings... I feel that, although your story was very fun and enjoying, and although it was very clever to twist this new time line in with the manga's (which admitiddely made it easier to read) was not incredibly origional...I give about a 9.6 on that point. I'm sadly am not sure how one could improve your thrilling tale(thus I don't try to) but I believe you could have, with your level of ingenious, come up with something a little more origional. Sometimes I felt you were just copying, word-for-word, the books, and another it seemed you repeated the same idea a little much.... Sorry , I know this is kinda mean of me , but I am a dedicated fan & reviw everything. PLS write more on this line.XD

Wow this was really great! I like Dee as a bad guy and a very intelligent one at that. Excellent job taking canon and making it your own. This was a wonderful read and I am hoping that there is a part two soon.

I never exspected you to write AU fics, but I'm glad you do. I like the way you kept the story in line with the book line and making Dee and semi-bad guy (hehehe). It's nice to read Dee and Ryo fall in love over again, and especially from your writing. The ending kind or threw me off, like what happened with Leo? You have such a creative mind, I love your writing and keep writing, please!!!

once again, you write a total masterpiece. this was just great, and well worth the wait! i can't resist hot, ryo/dee lovin. especially when you come up with such great plots to go along with it. i really liked the idea of dee being a hitman, and while i don't usually go for au fanfics, this one was really good. thanks for making my day!
