Actually, Coconut, "The Ring" was an English remake of the Japanese cult classic "Ring" (or "Ringu" by some accounts). So Sadako (Samara's Japanese counterpart) is more entrenched in Japanese minds than Samara is in North American minds. Chapter 9 is almost complete, but is not as it was supposed to be. The Crest Cards has been moved up to chapter 10, as I started writing it and couldn't fit everything I wanted into the space for one chapter. So, the major plot revelations were left as Chapter 9, and the battle itself (and all subsequent incidents) will be Chapter 10. This is a totally enjoyable fanfic for me, and you deserve all of those tens I gave you! I found a link to this fanfic on PDU's message board and I was bored and wanted a good fanfic to read and your comments intrigued me (I've always been a fan of Tamers). I also agree with Togepi's (from PDU) comments on your fanfic. It's rated R, but is a good read. It's not like other fanfics that just have crap strewn about, it actually has a story and a plot that make this fanfic definitely worth reading. It's dark and serious with some humor in it too (I just love humor in fanfics). I also thought "Hentai Henry" was hysterical (and I hate hentai). I also love the fact that you decided to include the coupling of Kazu & Kenta (they're my favorite in Tamers!!) because I don't read too many fanfics that are about them in that way. That makes your fic all the more enjoyable for me. ^_^ I just finished reading Chapter 8 tonight and I look forward to reading Chapter 9! First, to "Coconut". True, Icedevimon was loaded, but then again, so was Leomon. What am I getting at here? You'll see...
And as for Gomamon, yes Preciomon is listed as his "True" Mega, but research will show that Marineangemon doesn't have a "True" Ultimate, just a whole assload of potentials. Therefore, I did what worked best in the context. Besides, I think it's kind of suitable that Marineangemon would come from a Rookie who's equally ill-suited for fighting.
Now, onto the meat of this session: the questions and comments from my ever faithful Anonymous Reviewer.
What, you've read eight chapters of this and you still think I would be predictable enough to just go with the Posessed Puppet on its own? Give me a bit more credit here.
Oh, you'll see how things turn out in the Wong household eventually. For now, let me say this, any development with Suzie will not be beyond this fic's current scope... okay, bad example. Don't worry, nothing too... extreme... will happen with Suzie.
Yes, in case you missed my previous comments, Ryo got his start at the same time as Yolei did, according to "Our War Game"/the second segment of the "American super-edited Digimon Movie", which was watching Omnimon destroy Diaboromon.
Yeah, Henry's realizing how Ashley looks at him at this point... and when you see how that's eventually resolved you may hate me.
Impmon is aware of what Henry's being told upstairs (or at least the first part), but let's be honest even with a Tamer he is still very self-centered.
And the Yamaki-bashing throughout the fic has officially reached its completely unexpected pinacle. I hated him from the start, and the more I wrote here the worse a character he became until we eventually get to implications of drunken incest.
The narative version of chapter 1 is partially an experiment and partially a nod (or pleading) towards fandomination.net. The problem is that it really does take a fair amount of work to go from one version to the other, so I suspect the first chapter will be left on its own.
Sadly, Jake IS a model of my brother. Granted the "khwooow" thing is exaggerated a bit, but that's really what he's like.

Actually, that means that cell-phones are so much a part of Japanese culture that the main feature that originally set Pokemon Crystal apart from Gold and Silver was a cable to connect the GBC to your (incredibly common) cell-phone and actually call people up for battles. In other words, it wasn't surprising to the family that Adam had (or seemed to have) a cell-phone after about a week in Japan.

I'll gladly take a break if the well of ideas goes dry. I'm trying to avoid all the mistakes I made which ended with the premature death of Darkened Hopes. One of these was indeed tapping so deeply into the idea well that it ran dry.

Gomamon as Marineangemon's Rookie form? Good choice, and an understandable one. I know there's some debate about whether Gomamon 'officially' evolves into Marineangemon, but I say it makes perfect sense in this, and that's all that matters.
Okay, now THAT comment is going to spark a lot of debate...
So Icedevimon is Rika's partner after all - a secondary partner. Considering that Wallace had two digimon, and many of the games allow you to have multiple partners, this isn't such a shock. It does raise the question of whether or not any of the others will be gaining alternative partners, though...
