Gah, so much wonderful writing, psychological insight, danger, worry and hilarity. An emotional but exhilarating emotional roller coaster for me and how sweet when Leon finally blurts it out. I'm still smiling. God, that was great!

I've been quite worried about you, hoping that you were well. This chapter has quite delicate content and what you did with it would have an undeniable effect on whatever else comes next in your story, so it was certainly worth taking the time to get it right, and to my way of thinking, for what that is worth, it is. Of the various scenes, I think my favorite is the one in which Chris is riding on Leon's shoulders and they meet Zhou, and Leon gives his brother the affection squeeze on the knees and says the phrase that makes his heart so joyful. That was a beautiful scene and so appropriate to the title. It brought back memories of my childhood, when I rode on my daddy's shoulders. I had forgotten and it was very nice to be reminded how much care and love that the couple who raised me, put into my life. It is a beautiful thing to see Leon and D stepping into the larger role of modeling love despite the social difficulties inherent in a homosexual union. This chapter shows a deepening of the relationship between D and Leon as they reach out to others as a couple. The party with Chuck and Ranjeet and Zhou's continued presence at the antique shop seem likely to provide material for future chapters and I am looking forward to them. I am enjoying the inclusion of your original characters in the story very much. I do love what D had to say about television although reading fan fiction can be every bit as addictive, especially with a fiction as wonderful as yours. Thank you for the update.

I reviewed this chapter over at FF.net. I hate embarrassing you, but don't seem to be able to avoid it. I nominated this story for the featured fiction section. If the powers that be read it, I'd have to say, it ought to be a lock. This is one of the few fictions I've read that I never want to end, hard as that would be on you. Looking forward, as usual, to the next chapter.

Yay! Hurray! What a lovely sex scene. ^_^ I'm happy now. Ooh, new thought - are Leon's new police colleagues going to find out he has a boyfriend? It would be a real mindbender for Leon if people started thinking of him as "the gay new guy" or "that gay detective". Snrk. I really love the way you write Leon's pov by the way, you really capture how he's rough and a bit too macho, yet somehow loveable anyway. ^_^ It would be funny if, when D started cleaning the antique shop, he got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of dust and grime. So he would think, "This means war!" and clean twice as hard, and at the end he would be frazzled, victorious, and probably filthy himself... so then he goes home, and Leon's startled, then amused by the concept of a filthy D, and they end up in the shower together... Mmmm ^_^ Okay, I'll stop letting myself get carried away now. But this story absolutely rocks, and I'll be awaiting your next update bouncing in eagerness. ^_^

Impossible to wax eloquent. I've been reduced to a puddle of sated mush. So much need, affection, reverence--loved it. Thanks for the Wednesday pick-me-up. No worries about the delay of your next update. It's obvious that you gave your all to this chapter. Catch up with real life for a while. Thank you.

Will you get bored with me telling you how much I'm enjoying this? What a lift it gave to my day. I was delighted with the length of your chapter and every now and then I would look at the scroll bar on the right to see how far down it had traveled during my reading and sigh happily knowing there was more to come. I remember thinking how gracefully you changed your narrative point of view between Leon and D. The description of D's trip to the tailor and his triumph at the antique shop were gems. I love how Leon's jealousy helps define the degree of his passion for Dee. I appreciate his concern for D's physical well-being. The unrelieved sexual tension in the chapter is very well done and so appropriate to the situation. The dream confrontation between D and Sofu was intense and beautiful. I love how D defended Leon and his choice to become mortal, to become human. The love of D and Leon for each other is such a leap of faith that however clumsy their coupling might be at this point, it is poignant. I pity Sofu for his blindness and prejudice.
