Very nice...not many people write about Kanna and I've often wondered if she felt any of the same longings for freedom as Kagura did. The previous short-short about the Inu brothers and their fanmail was amusing, but I noted one small point--Japanese distinguishes between "elder brother" (aniki or o-nii-chan) and younger brother (otoutou). Sesshoumaru should be referring to Inuyasha as otoutou rather than oniichan. Aniki/Nii-san/Nee-san and Nii-chan/Nee-chan are also used as nicknames for people you aren't actually related to--for example, Souta calls Inuyasha "Inu-no-nii-chan" (elder brother Dog) in affectionate respect. When I was traveling in Japan with my younger and prettier sister, construction workers used to whistle at her and call her "nee-san," ie, "Hey, sister!" That was actually kind of rude, but rude in the overly-familiar sense rather than the "hey, bitch," sense.

These are all wonderful, but the final one, Naraku's Happy Ending, was just deliciously, awfully evil. Kitsune stew! But the following comment about Tenseiga was hands-down my favorite part of the story: Perhaps he would find a skilled smith and have the sword reforged into a really nice set of table knives. Although that might not work after all given the blade's more esoteric properties. He couldn't suppress a giggle at the idea of his supper rising back to life every time he went to cut his meat. hisq

Aww...InuYasha and Kikyou's inner thoughts about their lives and about their feelings for the other made me all misty-eyed. How sweet. Wonderful insight into what drives these two characters.
