| Biography: | The only thing I will bother saying is what I think about fan fiction pairings.
You see, I rarely have an opinion when it comes to what pairings are better or closer to canon than others. For example: InuYasha. I have a friend who reads and (sometimes) writes fan fiction for InuYasha. I have only three times heard of her reading a SessKag story, and that was with a parody, an AU set in modern times, and a canon-setting one written by the same author that wrote the AU. Other than those, she refuses to read anything other than InuKag, MirSan... Anything non-canon and she freaks. Won't even listen to a funny scene involving a rat that InuYasha named Kufuuku because it just HAPPENS to be an InuSess. She is a slave to the storyline. I, on the other hand, read fan fiction of any pairing to a certain degree. Just because the pairing will never happen in canon does NOT mean I must be a slave to the storyline and never lay eyes on a SessKag or InuSess of InuYasha or a SasuNaru, ShikaNeji, or ItaSasu of Naruto. I read fan fiction to take a break from the storyline. To be able to see how others think the story could have been different, or to see another possible or even impossible happening. Fan fiction is about being creative with characters and/or settings you are familiar with.
Yes, I know Sesshoumaru and Kagome will never fall in love. Yes, I am well aware that InuYasha will never willingly submit to Sesshoumaru, much less bear his children (though this is where I start to get a little twitchy, anyway).
I know Sasuke could never love Naruto, nor Naruto Sasuke, and how well does Shikamaru even know Neji outside of missions? Also, even Itachi wouldn't be twisted enough to have sex with Sasuke. Pfeh.
But any true fan knows that with enough saké, any pairing is possible. ^_^ |
