Hi my name is... well it's already up there. I am female and a Yuugi-oh fan-girl. I don't really consider myself a writer, but I had a bunch of ideas and I really wanted to put them down. I hope that you enjoy them.

Cries of an Ancient Heart: On Hiatus - PG-13 - (Chapter 6: Planned Out) - An ancient Egypt fic, that's a little too sappy for my tastes.
Countdown to Armageddon: In Progress - R - (Chapter 8/9: Up) - This is another ancient Egypt fic, but this one is a lot more angsty (Just the way I like it) It involves a bunch of different situations and pairings. I started it over Christmas break and now I'm trying to polish some stuff up. I am still working on the plot and I am open for suggestions.

'Poor Little Yuugi' Stories - They've been done and overdone and are usually incredibly far from the true Yuugi. First of all Yuugi wasn't friendless before Yami, he just didn't have any close ones. If people didn't like him why was he invited to play basketball with everyone in the first episode?
Mary Sues - They suck for obvious reasons.
Self-Insertion - These are like Mary Sues with the author's name inserted. If it has to be done, make it for like three sentences. Just come and GO!
Badly written song-fics - Too much song and not enough fic
Anzu/Tea paired with Yami or Seto - My feelings regarding pairings involving her an other people change from time to time, but really she should hook up with Yuugi.
Seto paired with Jou
Fics with Yami/Hikari pairings that then stick Seto and Jou together, because they're the leftovers
Pointless Anzu/Charater Bashing - I have no problem with it if it actually adds to the plot of the story. I mean if you need a bad guy or if they just happen to fit the bill for a role in the story, go for it! Bash away! But doing it as an insult to the character is just stupid and I see no need for it.

Random Rants and Opinions:
Yami and Seto are Cousins: You know I had a whole long rant here, but I don't care enough anymore to keep it up. Basically, the gist is that, IT DOESN'T MATTER. If you really want to read it you can email me, but I don't expect that anyone will care enough to do that.
THEN and THAN: Well, I've noticed this horrible trend running through fan fictions recently. People keep confusing the words "then" and "than." It's not hard to tell the difference. THAN is used for comparisons and THEN is used for time expressions. I did come across something that said that there is a way to use than where it basically means the same as then, but it doesn't work both ways and it would just be easier to know the differences. I like to use this online dictionary whenever I need to check things. http://www.britannica.com/
Yamis and Hikaris: I really don't like these terms to refer to the spirits and their hosts. I really don't think of them as single beings. I look at them separately. Yami and Bakura had lives of their own at one time and so did Yuugi and Ryou before they met up with the spirits. It's obvious that Bakura thinks of himself as his own person, he also realizes that he's dependant on Ryou in order to live in this time and he unlike Yami realizes that he is a separate person. On the other hand Yami woke up with no memory or identity of his own. I think that he simply accepted the fact that he was just a part of Yuugi's personality because he didn't know anything else at the time. He didn't have a name or family and simply acknowledged whatever Yuugi had as his own. Now, however, he knows that he is someone else and we know that too, so I see no need to always tie them together.
Innocent Little Yuugi and His Evil Other Half: ... the Hell! Okay. My thesaurus describes 'innocent' as angelic, faultless, chaste, inexperienced, incorrupt, naive and a bunch of other words, most of which didn't apply. While individually some of these words do apply to Yuugi, 'Innocent' is an all inclusive word that does not accurately describe Yuugi AT ALL! I highly doubt that a 15/16 year old boy with porn tapes and girls underwear on his mind is angelic, chaste, incorrupt or as naive as people say he is. And SO WHAT if Yami has a harsh sense of justice! Why does that suddenly make him some evil dark fiend? That makes no sense!! He's also nothing but a 15/16 year old teenager, but he's one with a rather high sense of duty. Takahashi-san is even going out of his way now to describe Yami as the 'LIGHT'. And for all extensive purposes, I think that Yuugi and Yami are a lot alike. Yuugi has a whole lot more strength than anyone ever gives him credit for.
Seto and Yami: Seto/Yami is my absolute favourite pairing! I think that they were made for each other my reasons why. First of all their personalities are similar enough to spark an interest yet different enough to keep it burning. They are both willing to do whatever is necessary to protect their loved ones and they're both OBSSESED with duelling. (Come to think of it, what'll happen to Kaiba Corp once the whole duelling fad wears out?) Other reasons are that Yami always seems to end up rescuing Seto in some way or other. (Duellist Kingdom, Virtual Game and I think Noa) And Seto gives him a boost when he needs it. For example, he gives him his Devil's Sanctuary card (at the end of Battle City) to help him defeat Malik even though he didn't have to (because he'd already given him Obelisk), that whole little telepathic communication thing at DK: Yami vs. Kaiba's dark side, and that duel when Yami won Osiris. Also Isis told Seto that they had in fact been friends in the past. Yami is always trying to convince Kaiba to be his friend, and even thinks to himself after their Alcatraz Battle that there has to be a way for them to be both good friends and rivals!
Seto and Yuugi: I read another bio once that said that this pairing doesn't work. So I got to thinking about it and you know what? The author was right! There really is nothing there and most of the points that would back up this relationship are actually for Yami and Seto, the most common one being, "Yuugi is always trying to make friends with Seto and he was attracted by the boy's bright nature." Wow, this is bull! Most of the efforts to make friends that I've seen have been from Yami and every time Seto thinks of Yuugi it actually turns out to be Yami and sometimes he even comes out and says "the other Yuugi." So yeah, really no foundation there.
Seto and Jou: The reason I wouldn't put these two together is that I have too much admiration for Jou. He has a lot of character and he has proven himself to be a great duellist, but he still has to struggle just to get respect. If he and Seto were in a relationship, I imagine that he would have the more submissive role, because... well... come on it's KAIBA we're talking about here! I don't think he'd play bottom to Jounouchi in a trillion years and after working so hard to prove himself for so long, I don't think that Jou's pride would allow him to do that either. Some people like to portray them as just denying their feelings for each other. But when Jou almost died facing Malik Seto's thought and speech pattern went something along the lines of, 'Yup, now that he's dead he's a real duellist. Oh well. Oi Yuugi quit mourning and come duel me!" Oh yeah now that's what I call love. (sarcasm) On the other hand I think he'd be really upset if something happened to Yami. After all, he still hasn't beaten him yet. He'd have nothing to look forward to everyday, nothing to work towards.
Seto as the seme Yami as the uke: It can be said that both Seto and Yami both have very dominant personalities, and it can also be said that they both have a lot of stress put on them. (Seto with Mokuba and Kaiba Corp. and Yami with constantly having to save the day.) A Seto-uke writer commented to me that Seto would more likely rather be in the submissive position not wanting to add the extra stress of the relationship to his already tough load. To some extent I agree with that, but then I think that with all the abuse he suffered (even if it wasn't sexual) he pretty much had that dominant nature ground into him. It's part of his character. Because of that I don't think it submission would be a very easy gesture for him, both pride and trust-wise. Yami I feel could go either way for mostly the same reasons; his natural dominant appearance and tiring of that position. I think I tend to lean more to the submissive because of his physically smaller stature. I mean things like Yami hauling Seto around effortlessly really bug me. I mean he's not much bigger than Yuugi. Plus what with the whole never losing thing, I think he could stand for a change of pace. Even with all that said some of my most favourite fics are the ones in which they are closer to equals in the relationship. Everybody wins!
