Aki Mikage is a normal teenager with simple problems until the day of his sixteenth birthday. He and his twin sister Aya are invited to his Grandpa’s house for a birthday celebration. Upon their arrival Aki and Aya are ushered into the dining room where their whole family is seated. Instead of the festive appearance they should be receiving in honor of their 16th birthday the atmosphere in the room is that of a Wake. A box is placed in front of the twins and Aki opens the box to find a mummified hand. At the sight of the hand Aya glows and power radiates through her body, but for Aki the experience is quite different, his body is slashed to ribbons and he passes out. Through a series of events that follow (I won’t ruin them for those of you readers who might want to start up the series (it’s awesome.).) Aya is chased away from her family because of the celestial blood in her veins that transforms her into the tennyo Ceres, the Celestial Maiden her ancestor took advantage of so long ago. Aki soon finds out his family did this to keep themselves alive because Ceres is out to destroy the Mikage Clan that kept her from going back to heaven by stealing her celestial robes, and her primary victim is Aki because his wounds are the mark of the man who defiled her in the past.....
