Dragon Ball Z - Description/Synopsis
Dragon Ball Z is the sequel to Dragon Ball. When Dragon Ball Z starts, Goku\'s brother, Raditz, comes to Earth in search of him, which is where Goku first finds out about his Saiyan heritage. Raditz kidnaps Goku\'s son, Gohan, in order to persuade him to join up with the Saiyans again. Not wanting to hurt people in order to get his son back, Goku challenges Raditz in battle instead and, with Piccolo\'s help, he defeats Raditz, but at the cost of his life. Not only is Earth\'s strongest fighter dead, but two more Saiyans are coming to Earth in order to find the Dragon Balls, and then eliminate Earth\'s inhabitants!

Dragon Ball Z is about Goku and his friends, who fight against evil aliens, androids and demons who want to destroy all of Earth. The Dragon Balls are seven orbs with stars that when you bring them together, a dragon named Shenron will grant you a wish within its power.

Whoa, whoa.
I used to watch this when I was younger.
Lately, I've come to realize that the show should actually have lasted about four episodes.
Enemy arrives, they parry, one of them screams for five episodes, while the other's watch. Then he launches some all-killing attack, killing himself along with the enemy.
Two episodes (and another season) later, they revive the good guy with Dragon Balls. Same pattern, different planets.

Don't get me wrong, if this show still aired around here, I'd probably watch it, if nothing else. It's not a bad show at all. It's just... repetitive.

Hooked on DBZ
Since the first time I watched DBZ and DB 5 years ago I LOVED it! I do now, I did in the past, and I will keep on loving it to no end! It has an AMAZING and interesting plot that contains drama, romance, humor, fighting, and great characters. Each one of the characters adds to the series and makes it perfect. DBZ was my first anime and even though I have watched many since then, it will always be number one on my list!

P.S- I'm a B/V addict!

*whistles*
As Mr. Burns would say right after firing one of his low-life employees I would have to say that this anime is so "Excellent!" I'm just going to say "SPOILERS AHEAD" just to be safe. The thing I like best about this anime is the fights; wait! That's what everyone likes about this anime. From the fight with Raditz to the spectacular final battle between Goku and Vegeta vs. Kid Buu this anime has it all. Action, adventure, suspense, comedy (meh... not so much comedy but still some funny parts; like Yamcha being blown up by a dinky little Saibamen), and even a bit of *GAG* romance! Just kidding! Anyway, this is one of my Top 10 animes. The fights are truly something else and the battle with Gohan and Cell is just so far out! First he goes from little wussy saiyan to big, bad kick ass saiyan (well, not so much since his power level went down since the Cell Saga but it was still pretty high up), Piccolo's always seemingly sudden entrance when things go awry, Vegeta's bad ass attitude and the best ones of all -- THE GINYU FORCE!!! My favorite characters next to Cell and Majin Buu! I would suggest this anime to anyone who loves action. One of my friends doesn't watch much anime but he watches this. And all I need is some perfect action and plot to keep me coming back for more.

DBZ is the classical anime buda
Dragonball Z has a facinating plot line from begining to end. Although there are some confusing moments, it mixes humor and action into a super anime that's lasted in popularity for over 20 years! Each character has their own unique personality from Vegeta to Oolong and is probably one of the best.

Character Review
One of the most important factor of an anime's success is the way the author establishes a clear idea of the character's personality in a swift and uncomplicated way. Akira Toryiama has done this very well in DBZ.

For Instance, Vegeta is one of the main characters.
He is very ambitious, proud and power-hungry, always reminding himself that he is higher than all others as he is the prince of the all-time powerful Saiyajin race.
He lands on planet Earth on a mission to purge it by Frieza, only to have his pride and his honour crushed as Goku and his companions defeat him after a struggle that lasted hours. On Namek, he joins forces with the Z senshi in order to defeat the merciless dictator called Frieza whom Vegeta had tasted misery and pain under his hands.

After Frieza is defeated by Goku in his Super Saiyan mode,
Vegeta settles down in Bulma's home with a new ambition, to achieve the legendary Super Saiya-jin mode and defeat Goku(Kakkarot) and the androids to prove himself. He gets into a romantic relationship with Bulma and they have a son, Trunks.

Mirai Trunks(the future version of Chibi Trunks) returns after the Androids are defeated and fights the Bio-android "Cell" with the other Z senshi. When Cell returns after his defeat, he kills Mirai trunks. It is then Vegeta confuses the image of his cold-heartedness and arrogance others have of him. He goes into a rage and tries to kill Cell, only to get defeated in the process.

In the Buu Saga, after he lets Babidi take over his soul and give him extra-ordinary power, he turns into "Majin Vegeta" and defeats Goku. Vegeta is regretful to this and helps the others in defeating Buu and even calls Goku, "The #1 Warrior".

Thanx for your Time,
CyberV

PS. i KNOW i am gonna get flamed for saying Bulma and Vegeta have a romantic relationship.

DBZ: The best anime invented
Don't we all wish we were like Akira Toriyama and could create such a world that he has in DB/Z (GT is not by him how sad...) It amazes me what an incredible imagination this man has! Either that or he's the last remaining Saiyan and is telling us the story of his life! Hehe, I can dream can't I.

DBZ is based on the old chinese tale of the Monkey Boy(Goku) and the Three-eyed god (Tenshinhan) Akira gave it his own flair and it blossomed into one of the most intriguing, original, and addictive animes. I believe I would rather watch DBZ over anything!

DBZ gives me an alternate world to live in, a place to come and relax and away from the care of the world. Toriyama's characters are fascinating and each with their own special character give the world of Dragonball its own uniqueness. I think every fan has imagined him or herself in the anime and wished that it were real. I know how they feel.

I applaud Mr. Toriyama on an excellent work which generations will come to cherish. 5 STARS!!!

Piccolo's better!!!
this is a definite 5, because while the anime isn't that great (i.e. eyes, girls, ect..) and it isn't my FAVORITE, this is a definite 5 star! Piccolo is my main reason! he's gorgeous plus he's different, he strong and brave, he's headstrong too!! (we have so much in common!) anyone who thinks you love Picci boy more than me, YOU'RE WRONG!!!! so you can all wait in hell, thank you for spending your time reading this review.

My Beloved Anime ^^
I have, like many others, loved DBZ from the first minute that I watched it. The action and fighting is amazing, true, but I believe that the story of DBZ really does have a a lot of hidden depth to it, which I admire and adore. Fanfiction only furthens the investigation of these developments that are never truly explained in the story. DBZ is addictive and once you watch it, there's no turning back. ^_~

Awesome!
I am still fairly new to dbz but I am swiftly and steadily becoming addicted to this anime. It's so cool! And Piccolo is HOT!! I just love him! :)

Why is DBZ so popular?
Yes I know it's addicting but what's the point of it? All it is is more violence to add to the world. I mean I don't want to offend lovers of it. I'm just stating my opinion. DBZ is a highly respected anime but don't you think people get carried away? I mean I do a lot of DBZ art but I'm not really a big fan of the series. I just thought you might want to hear what I think.

Don't Knock it 'Til You Tried It (4 Yourself)
I've never really liked DBZ until Spring 2001! (I know, I'm late!) My family always tried to get me to watch it, but whenever I did, I was always like, "I don't like it."

Until I watched "Tree of Might" one time, (only because nothing else was on) and I became very intrested. Then I actually sat down and watched an episode of DBZ! It was when Vegeta #19 after becoming Super Saiyan and disowned Bulma and Baby Trunks!

As I was watching this, I was like, "They actually have a cartoon out there where a man will disown his wife and son?" I never seen that in a cartoon before. I still remember what he said in that episode. (Or almost.)

Vegeta: I don't care for that foolish woman or that blasted child!

At that instant, I became hooked, and also at that moment, I knew Vegeta would become my favorite character!

Give Me a Reason Not to LOVE DBZ!!!
I don't see how any one can't become addicted to it. Between Goku's cute innosence, Vegeta's compleatly enthralling badass attitude, Gohan's adorable geek chic, and the dianamic duo Goten and Trunks, and the wonderfully bitchly girls they belong to there is no personality left out. You can identify with one or everyone on the cast.

DragonBall Z
DragonBall Z has been my favorite tv show ever since I saw my first episode of it. I have thoroughly enjoyed it time and time again. If people like shows that have fighting and action, DragonBall Z is an excellent choice.

Dragon Ball Zen Review by FSTwista
I like to refer to this kind of toon as a Minime. It is a mediokre anime that might appeal to younger, less experienced audiences. They have lots of action, and lots of combat scenes, but no profanities, sexuallity, or really bloody/gory momments, like Neon Genisis Evangilion does. But besides the fact that DBZ is a minime, it's actually a pretty good toon. It has okay characters, likewise with plot and setting. The action sequences and overall animation are cool, but crude, and the sound affects are undoubtable able to compete with any fully developed anime. DBZ is an okay minime overall, and has good stats, but for some reason gets a little boring after a while.
