Handa-kun is the prequel story to that of a famous calligrapher. This is his life as a high school student who seems to be good at everything, including calligraphy. He has lots of friends and a fun and exciting high school life, though he seems uninterested in romance for some reason never explained. 

I like to think that Handa is the same guy, under a new name, that is the love interest of the wind goddess of Kamichuu!! This makes sense when you consider a number of factors, but mostly because I like crossover stories. 

While this is a passable anime it is nothing special otherwise.
