Yume: (sniffles) This is it, everyone…It's…It's…(turns away) I can't even bring myself to say it because it's so painful.

CF: (wipes away own tears) Um, what Yume-sama is trying to say is (tear) this is the LAST chapter to ForgetMeNot! (bawls and runs out crying)

Yume: I'm so very sorry, I feel so very attached to this story ( it was my first ever fanfiction afterall) which was why I took so long to update. I thank everyone who has supported me on this wonderful experience. Now, as much as I never thought I'd believe I'd say this: Here's the epilogue to ForgetMeNot.

CF: NO! SAY IT ISN'T SO!

Yume: If you'll excuse me, I need to be alone…

Chapter 34: {Epilogue} Sweet Dreams

It was quiet in the hut that morning. Not a single sound but the soothing breaths of the inhabitants. The demon lord glanced around at everyone who still lay asleep; Kaede, Shippo and Kirara, and Sango who slept comfortably in Miroku's embrace. Very much like Kagome slept in his.

Sesshomaru smiled softly when golden eyes fell upon his mate, who lay wrapped in his protective arms and tail. She had a sweet smile on her lips herself as he imagined her to be having a considerably nice dream.

Snuggling her closer, he looked outside to see the sun barely peeking over the mountains. A light fog hung over the fields, and Sesshomaru could see dewdrops clinging onto the blades of grass. It was still quite early.

A soft moan elicited from his mate, and the demon lord turned attention to her once more. Blue sapphire stared back at him lovingly, and she raised herself tentatively to give him a sweet kiss on his lips.

She mouthed a soft "Morning," to him and he pulled her closer, burying his nose into her ebony hair, inhaling deeply. Sesshomaru would never get tired of that sweet sakura blossom scent…Except….

Sesshomaru's golden eyes snapped open in surprise and pulled back from her. Kagome looked curiously at him at his sudden change in moods.

"Sesshomaru?" She questioned, confused when he pulled her close to him once more and began taking sniffing her with more vigor than before. "Uh, what are you doing?" The Taiyoukai grasped her by the chin and forced their gazes to meet.

"Your blood," he started stoically, his molten depths sparked.

"My blood?" Kagome repeated, "What about my blood?"

Sesshomaru brought his head down to hers, nuzzling her neck and inhaling deeply, causing her to blush. After a long while, he answered.

"Your blood has changed…" He said softly. Yes, there was no mistaking it, her scent no longer held any traces of her being human, but at the same time she was not youkai either. He didn't understand it, and he was hoping Kagome knew about this new shift in her blood.

But she looked just as shocked as he, as her sapphire orbs flickered with wonder.

"What do you mean it's changed? What happened to me?" She panicked, her voice rising causing the others in the hut to stir. Shippo yawned from nearby and rubbed his turquoise eyes lazily.

"What's all the commotion?" He asked, and Miroku and the others nodding in agreement. The couple ignored them however, lost in their revelation.

Kagome waited for his answer as he traced a thumb affectionately over her lips, a smile gracing his own as he realized what this could mean for her…for both of them. His mate was getting rather impatient with his silence.

"C'mon, Sessho! Tell me what is it about my blood!" Sighing, the demon lord captured her lips in a tender kiss, melting her agitation away.

"You're scent is not that of a human's anymore, love," He whispered against her pink lips, which was now parted in a surprised "oh."

"Huh? What happened to Momma?!" Shippo asked, suddenly frantic as he pounced in between Kagome and Sesshomaru. The others were suddenly wide awake as well, listening intently to their conversation.

"Wait, if I'm not human…" Kagome started slowly, "Then what am I?" She asked, before her eyes widened considerably. "A demon?!" The demon lord inwardly smiled at her reaction, and the little kitsune began to sniff furiously at his okaasan.

"Lemme' see," Shippo pressed, looking over Kagome. "You don't smell like a demon," He gazed up innocently at her. Sesshomaru shook his head and kissed Kagome's forehead once more as he she sat there, still thoroughly confused.

"No, Kagome isn't a demon, and yet she is not human either. Her blood is not that of a mortal's…" he continued, standing up and pulling Kagome with him, nuzzling and inhaling her mark. "You are immortal now, my Kagome," He whispered just loud enough for her to hear.

"What?" She gasped, pulling back to lock gazes with her mate. "You mean, I can't age?"

Sesshomaru smiled, nodding as he drew her close.

"You will live as long as I do, love…" He said softly, almost tenderly against her hair as Kagome was suddenly filled with unparalleled happiness, throwing her arms around his neck in a tight embrace.

"But how…" The young girl whispered, tears streaming down her face in elation.

"Yes, how indeed?" It was then that the couple looked up at the still present houshi, taijya, and miko in the hut. "Though I agree that this is indeed a blessing, I can't help but wonder how such a thing is possible," Miroku analyzed carefully. Though a ghost of a smile graced his lips as he spoke.

"Could it be some kind of spell, maybe a part of the mating ritual for youkai?" Sango suggested, all the while Kagome looked curiously up at Sesshomaru to confirm if it was true. He only stared blankly at her.

"Nay," Kaede spoke, waving away the idea entirely. "No such spell exists, the line between youkai and ningens is very fine. `Tis no enchantment nor work of a demon that can extend a human's life span." The old woman reasoned. "Isn't that right, Lord Sesshomaru?"

All eyes were on the demon lord, and he remained impassive as he nodded in agreement.

"But then, how?" Sango asked, nibbling on her lower lip in concentration. The whole room was silent for a moment, until Kagome's eyes sparkled in realization.

"There is one way…" She said softly.

His steps seemed to be heavy, but in truth, Inuyasha had never felt lighter in his entire life. It was if a big weight was lifted from his shoulders, and the hanyou could not help but allow a small smile to curve upon his lips.

Up ahead, amber eyes locked onto the small hut that belonged to Kaede of the village. He felt a little twinge of excitement when he saw his brother and Kagome exit the hut along with the others. Inuyasha vaguely wondered… `Do they know?'

He tried to remain calm, but what was really nagging his mind was if they DID know, `How will they react?' Would they be angered? Happy? Grateful, perhaps? Afterall, it wasn't really his choice to give up Kagome's mortality…But when she saw him approach, and a wide smile appeared on her beautiful face…he knew he had done the right thing.

All of the suffering, the pain that they endured to complete the jewel…was worth it.

"Inuyasha!" She greeted with mirth, running towards him with outstretched arms. In an instant, she had wrapped her arms around his torso and hugged him tight. For a while, he hesitated, glancing up at his brother to see if he was going to kill him for it…when he saw nothing but a soft gentleness, he returned her embrace.

"Oh, Inu-chan…thank you so much…" She whispered into his hoari. He smiled, holding her close before pulling her away, his hands firmly on her shoulders.

"Feh. It was nothing," He answered as Sesshomaru and the others came up to them. Kagome shook her head vigorously.

"It was TOO something!" She exclaimed. "What about your wish to become full demon?! I mean, it's what you've always wanted, and you gave that all up for me?"

The hanyou shook his head and smiled softly at her.

"No, all that I REALLY ever wanted was to belong somewhere," He admitted. "But I just now realized…that what I set out to look for was right here all along." Inuyasha gestured to the family of friends that they had formed over the years standing behind them.

Kagome glanced at them and smiled, realizing what he meant and turned back to the half-demon. Her eyes began to shine with unshed tears. She never knew Inuyasha could be so unselfish and thoughtful. He looked intently at her, his eyes kind.

"So, I sure as hell didn't need that wish," He continued, laughing a bit, but then his expression grew serious once more. Amber depths flashed over to where his brother stood, their eyes meeting for a few fleeting seconds.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome called out quietly, gaining his attention once more. Finally, he spoke once more.

"Kagome, I want you to know that what I did was for you…I only wanted yours…as well as my brother's happiness," He admitted, and Sesshomaru let a smile grace his lips at his words. "You very well damned earned it," Inuyasha finished.

"Oh Inuyasha!" Kagome cried, throwing herself into his arms once again and letting the tears fall. "Arigato!"

"Yes," They both broke away at the sound of Sesshomaru's emotionless voice. But although his words were void of feeling, his eyes hid nothing. To everyone's surprise and shock, his head dropped slightly in the tiniest of bows, as if in a small gesture of recognition and respect. "Thank you…brother."

Inuyasha smiled, and they both for the first time felt like they were a part of a family…born of the same blood.

"Feh," He decided to reply, causing Kagome to giggle slightly as she walked back to Sesshomaru's side.

"I never knew you could be so selfless, my friend," Miroku quipped. "Who are you, and what have you done with OUR Inuyasha?" He asked in a rather playful tone, and everyone broke out into laughter-that is except for Sesshomaru.

Inuyasha only glared at them, but couldn't help but let a smirk cross his lips as well.

"You are going to visit aren't you?" Sango begged, as Kagome adjusted the bag's strap over her shoulder. Kagome looked up into her mate's eyes to see his approval, and he simply nodded. Grinning, Kagome turned once more to her friend.

"Of course! And I'm definitely coming back for your little wedding," She winked, causing the taijya to blush a deep crimson. The monk came from behind and wrapped his arms around her, smiling widely.

"Then we'll be seeing you soon!" Miroku said, bringing Sango closer. The taijya's eyes widened at his words.

"Oh, Miroku, do you really mean it? We're…"

He only answered with a nod, and she hugged him back in a fierce embrace.

"Yeah, just wait until your wedding night to grope her, will ya?" Inuyasha joked haughtily. This brought a disappointed sigh to pass Miroku's lips.

"Kagome, love," Sesshomaru urged beside her, pulling her in for a chaste kiss on her temple. Kagome nodded and turned to the others, Shippo squirmed slightly in her arms. She could tell he was excited about finally going to their "home," and having their own "family."

"Everyone," She began, the tears began to prick at her eyes. "You don't know how much you all mean to me, and I'm grateful to have met each and every single one of you." Kagome and Shippo came up and hugged every single one of them, sniffling with Sango, smiling with Miroku, lingering with Inuyasha, and gentle with Kaede.

"Take care, child," The old woman whispered like a grandmother to her grandchild. And to her, Kagome was almost just that. The young miko nodded her head and went to her mate's side once more.

"Goodbye everyone, I'll miss you all, and I'll make sure to come back and visit!" She added. "Or you can visit us!" Turning to Sesshomaru, who was gazing lovingly at her, she smiled and wrapped her arms around his torso.

"I'm ready now," She whispered. At her words, Sesshomaru's tail wrapped around her form, and his silver cloud began to take shape at their feet.

"Bye, Kagome!" Sango cried out as they ascended to the skies. A look of sadness and at the same time happiness adorned all of their faces, and when they were nothing more but mere blurs on the ground, their good-byes and good lucks echoing in the winds…Sesshomaru pulled her in for a fierce and passionate kiss.

"To forever, love…" He whispered against her smiling lips.

"To forever…" She repeated, kissing him back with equal fervor as the clouds and groves of trees passed them by.

With Shippo safely tucked in Kagome's arms, and she herself safely tucked in Sesshomaru's they continued their journey home the Western castle.

The demon lord thought of the little girl…Rin, who was waiting for them now…and he couldn't help but feel warm as he thought of his future ahead with his mate wrapped in his embrace.

The moon was full and bright as it hung in the calming night sky outside, filtering it's mysterious rays through the window and setting an ethereal glow on the couple that lay in each other's arms.

Kagome ran slender fingers affectionately through silver locks, her yukata slightly parted so that she was partly naked to the demon lord, who rested his head ever so gently on her stomach.

Sesshomaru let out a content sigh as he nuzzled Kagome's bare stomach, his fingers drawing circles on the soft skin and he whispered sweet nothings to his beloved mate as he pressed his ear closer against her to listen…

She giggled, her voice like soft bells to the taiyoukai.

"Sessho-kun, you're so silly," Kagome said affectionately. "You know you can't hear the baby yet…" She cooed, looking down at her slightly swollen, but otherwise pretty much flat belly. Still, he insisted on doing this every night, caressing her and listening for their child that steadily grew in his mate's womb.

Kagome closed sapphire eyes when she felt him plant tender kisses all over the skin of her stomach, his silver bangs tickling her flesh. He wrapped his strong arms around her petite frame and gazed lovingly up at her angelic face.

"Our baby…"He whispered softly, "Our pup…" Sesshomaru pulled himself up and kissed her gently on her jaw, then worked his way to her lips. The demon lord never thought it possible, that he would one day be here, with his mate, awaiting their child mixed with their blood…of their love.

He was elated. She let out a soft moan as his tongue coaxed her lips open, instantly finding each other in a fevered kiss.

Needless to say, Rin and Shippo had been delighted to hear the news, dancing around and arguing over who was going to be the better mentor to the unborn pup.

"I love you…" He ushered into her ear, causing her to shudder. He smiled as he stared into sapphire irises. Silently to himself, he vowed to protect her now and forever, love and adore her for eternity, and never forget her sweet smile.

Just as their kisses began to become more heated and passionate, a knock on their shoji door pushed them to stop. Sesshomaru slumped over his mate, growling slightly.

"Momma? Papa?" A timid voice asked from the other side. Kagome giggled softly as she pulled away from Sesshomaru and closed her Yukata. He sighed and sat up.

"Come in," Sesshomaru answered. The shoji door slid open, and a small boy of about eight stepped in. He was almost the spitting image of his father if it weren't for his icy sapphire eyes and black tipped silver hair and tail. Which, the young demon child clutched in his arms like a security blanket.

Yes, FULL demon. And though they were thoroughly confused they were when their first child was born, Kaede had later explained that it was probably due to Kagome's powerful miko blood, which disintegrated the weaker blood (the human blood). And so the youkai child before them was not hanyou, but full demon.

"What is it, Kyosuke?" Kagome asked her son gently. He shifted slightly on the spot before answering.

"I...I can't sleep…" He mumbled, causing his mother to laugh.

"I told you not to listen to Shippo's scary stories before you go to bed," She chided gently. Kyosuke narrowed icy blue eyes and shook his head vigorously.

"I wasn't scared! I just said I couldn't sleep is all…" He said quickly in defense.

Sesshomaru inwardly smiled when the demon child pouted at his mother, who was still giggling. `He got that from HER,' He noted to himself, and sighed.

"Kyosuke," He called, causing the young prince to stiffen slightly. "Come here," He said in a soft, but still rather commanding voice, and Kyosuke complied.

Slowly, he scrambled onto his parent's futon, and Kagome took him in her arms, holding him close.

"Now sleep," Sesshomaru said solemnly.

"But I'm not-"

"Shhh, it's not good to lie," Kagome said softly running her fingers through the young prince's hair.

"Momma, I'm not lying. I'm really not… (yawn) sleepy…" He mumbled before letting his eyelids droop.

"Persistent, isn't he?" Kagome said softly, curling up to Sessomaru with their son close to her heart. "He gets that from you…"

The demon lord scoffed.

"I beg to differ, love," He answered, before realizing that Kagome had fallen fast asleep as well. Tightening his arms around his mate and child, he pulled the covers up for more warmth. Kissing them both on their crescent marks on their brow.

"Sweet dreams, beloved," he smiled contently before allowing sleep to claim him, listening to their calm breathing and basking in their scents.

Sesshomaru didn't think he had ever been more content in his entire life…and silently thanked a little Forget-Me-Not flower that his sweet Kagome had given him…all those years ago.
