His senses told him there were no others in the garden, but he did hear the castle servants wake for their daily duties. His eyes reverted back to the miko sleeping on top of him, her appearance was evidence enough that he took her many times throughout the night. Her disheveled hair and various marks all over her body, from his insatiable desire for her gave her an enchanting look. Even now he grew stiff remembering the way she called out for him, the way her body betrayed her when she claimed she could do no more. Wrapping his tail around her he covered her exquisite form from his view, she needed her rest and he could do her no good if he disturbed her with his cravings.

Letting his claws brush over the mark she gave him on his neck, he smiled slightly, now no other could ever posses her or him without breaking the covenant of the youkai. Gently he lifted her and himself out of the bed of flowers, turning he leapt to his bedroom balcony and walked into his room. As soon as he entered his mind was flooded with the memories of last night, the image of her screaming for him to stop, the tears rolling down her striped cheeks, her blatant fear. He laid her down gently covering her with the sheet, and left for the hot springs. As he bathed quickly his soul was surrounded by shame for what he did, a lord should never stoop so low, especially the taiyoukai of the west. After dressing, he went to his study.

When did he lose his forethought, his ability to control his actions? Every since the day he met her it has been slipping drastically. He would have never mated with a ningen just to save their life, nor would he ever stoop so low to let his rage blind him into nearly raping her. He was the great taiyoukai of the west, the one who held an inu army well over 40,000 who would never see death in the battlefield. He was the only known youkai alive who was undefeatable, making him the greatest and most feared of all times. But to let this slip of a girl get past all of his years of training and built up control was unsatisfactory.

From now on he would strengthen his dominance, no longer will he let his guard fall, for it proved last night that it could prove to be most fateful.

The gentle rays of sunlight cascading over her eyes slowly brought her out of the dream realm. Slowly she sat up and noticed that she was no longer in the garden but in Sesshoumaru's room, alone. Was it all a dream?

As she looked around the room, she caught sight of her shredded clothing from last night. She shivered as she was reminded of Sesshoumaru enraged features, how he looked at her with such crazed rage. However, the image of him standing in shame by the edge of the garden quickly replaced the horrid image. Blushing she remembered how his broad form covered her body from the night's view. She could nearly feel his hands gripping her thighs as he thrust in and out of her. Shaking her head she willed herself to stop thinking of it, she didn't want him catching a whiff of her heated blood and running back up here.

Would he regret what we did last night? Would he treat her with love or with is usual taciturn emotions? Hell what was she talking about she wasn't even sure if she loved him herself. As she got up to bathe her, body reminded her instantly of her long night. She was sore all over but mostly in one central region, proof that woke her many times throughout the night to fulfill his promise, slamming into her prone body making her cry out in sweet torture. She had to admit she loved the way he filled her completely; it was as if he was the missing piece of her biological puzzle.

But what of the future? Would they continue this, would this grow into love or will they remain allies with benefits, forever? Many questions plagued her mind as she bathed and dressed. She couldn't face him now, there were just too many questions on her mind. Dressing in a white gown of flowing material she hopped gracefully from his balcony into the gardens below. Looking over the edge onto the many other levels of the mystical mountain she spotted a level she never ventured on. Usually she would take the children and walk down the winding levels of the mountain, but today she needed time with herself, to think things through.

Staring at her delicate picture, he decided that there needed to be quite a few changes in their life now, as well as work to be done. Getting up he tightened his swords and armor and set off to find his mate.

The wind blew her hair all around her while making the thin white gown mold to her body. Looking up at the clouds, she sighed tiredly. Wasn't this the adventurous life she always wanted? Was this not the very life she dreamed about as she stared out the window during class? But now that she had it she didn't seem to sure about it. She just didn't want to get hurt, her heart could not take it anymore if she was hurt again. There once was a time she wished she was a cloud or a bird, just something to fly away from it all to be free from problems. But she realized it was never going to happen, so why wish the only thing to do is face your fears and get it over with.

"Do you have regrets?" the deep cool voice startled out of her reverie. Without turning, she answered him.

"No…no, I have no regrets only worries of the future is all." Smirking as she stared at the birds.

Her answer soothed his nerves slightly; he couldn't help but be a little apprehensive finding her like this. He expected to find her still a sleep not halfway down the mountain. Slowly walked up to her and wrapped his arm around her waist while the other turned her, tilting her chin a little.

Looking at him she took in his purple stripes, and his crescent moon, his small nose, and set mouth, he truly was the most beautiful creature to walk the earth. She loved how the wind caught hold of his hair tossing it lightly about his unique face. She let her clawed fingers trace his stripes, loving the way he growled softly but deeply at her touch.

"Fear not, my Kagome I will let nothing harm you." Even though his face was has indifferent as usual his eyes spoke volumes of truth. She sighed letting her forehead fall on his cool armor, she loved the feeling of protection from him. He was her newfound security blanket; she could remember the times where she would just stare off into space wishing someone would just whisk her away from it all.

"Arigatou Sesshoumaru-sama." Looking back up at him. He stared at her as if thinking about something or remembering a long forgotten memory. But the tightening around her waist and the way his head snapped away cut her inspections short. She turned to look in the direction he was looking, curious to know what was going on, but he held her so tight she couldn't move.

"Sesshou…" the harsh vibrations of his chest shushed her instantly, she looked up to see his eyes bleeding a violent crimson as he stared at something over her head. Movement behind him, in front of her caught her eye.

A large group of inu soldiers stood with weapons drawn and ready for battle. Each were growling, staring ahead at whatever Sesshoumaru was staring at.

Then she felt it a tremendous amount of youkai energy coming from behind her, but it wasn't a foreign one. Oh no it was highly familiar and very pissed.

Finally being able to turn a little, she gasped when her eyes fell on the intruder. Standing directly in front of her was a transformed Inuyasha. His chest was bare while his hakama's were tattered and ripped. His eyes were as red as Sesshoumaru's, his stripes were jagged, while his claws flexed.

"I am going to kill you Sesshoumaru, and then I am going to take back what's mine." His laugh was insane sounding but his eyes held determination to prove his threat.

A horrid cracking noise behind her slowly took her attention away from the sight in front of her. Carefully she turned to see a sight she never wanted to see again. She watched in fear as Sesshoumaru's beautiful face transformed into a snout, his fangs lengthening, and stripes become jagged like his brother's. He became the taiyoukai she met last night, she backed away slightly as he tore off his amour savagely preparing for a brutal battle.

Now she stood directly in the middle of the two frightening beast. She looked to see Inuyasha's eyes filled with revenge and malice. While his brother's was filled with rage and possession. Calm down Kagome, she thought, these two won't hurt you, you know that. Ok I know why Sesshoumaru's angry and you know how to make him stop, but Inuyasha on the other hand was uncontrollable like this. Sesshoumaru could handle his blood a lot better than Inuyasha can.

Turning to Inuyasha she timidly held out her arms towards him. The mark on her shoulder pulsated with anger as Sesshoumaru let out a feral roar. But she had to ignore him for all their sake.

She watched as Inuyasha's eyes and countenance drown in confusion. "Inuyasha, please calm down your scaring me." Her voice was barely above a whisper "I need you to calm down, I want you to go back to the Inuyasha I pulled the arrow out of. Please!!"

His eyes slowly returned back to the golden orbs she knew so well. With his head down he slumped to his knees in front of her putting his arms around her waist as he buried his face in her stomach. She turned slightly to see Sesshoumaru seething with even more anger, it looked as if he wanted to do something but couldn't. She gave him a look to try and refrain himself, only receiving a long growl in return as he circled them slowly.

Stroking the hanyou's ears and hair, she waited. Slowly a pair of yellow eyes met her gaze.

"Your really gone now, and that bastard took you away from me." His grip tightened uncomfortably, "I was so worried he would hurt you. Did he hurt you Kagome?" he shifted causing her to step forward. She winced a little at the pain from the awkward movement; her body was still so sore.

"He did hurt you!! YOU BASTARD!!!!" he jumped up to face her mate but she quickly brought him back down to his knees pressing his face into her stomach.

Inuyasha was a little shocked at her strength but he did like being smashed up against her like this. He smirked secretly at his brother's obvious annoyance; he could sense how much he wanted to kill him.

"No he did not hurt me, trust me. I need you to …" her sentence was cut short. She felt Inuyasha tense as well as everyone else's attention including her own divert. The smell of clay and old bones passed through their noses.

Inuyasha immediately spun around to where the scent was coming from, shielding Kagome.

Standing at the tree line of the forest stood Kikyo with a notched arrow aiming straight at them. Her cold narrow eyes held nothing but hate and revenge, and she was staring straight at Kagome.

"So I see that my reincarnation is not satisfied with one but she has to have two. Greedy girl, I will show you once and for all that Inuyasha belongs to me." Her cold voice rang clear over the area, holding a certain tone of promising death.

She could easily remember a time when those words would have scared her, having her turn to Inuyasha for safety. But now she felt no fear, but the anticipation of the next move, which happened to be hers.

"Then that leaves me with the simple question of this," Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha and the soldiers stared in amazement as they watched Kagome smile at the dead miko as if this was an everyday occurrence. Moving aside from Inuyasha she looked at the dead miko dead in her eyes. "When in the hell are you going to get over the fact that Inuyasha doesn't belong to you anymore, hell this whole earth doesn't belong to you anymore. The only thing that belongs to you are the crimson flames of hell waiting to devour you whole so that we may live a peaceful life once again, abazureon'na! (bitch) So if you're here to get that point established then I suggest you make your fucking move so I may take you out of this world and go back to my own damn business." She flexed her claws emphasizing her point.

~~

Sesshoumaru was quite sure that, that had to be the sexiest thing she has ever said.

"Dear Kami is she sexy when she is mad" Inuyasha thought as he stared at the beautiful inu miko. "Damn Sesshoumaru, I wish the bowls of hell would just claim him here and now so I can have her back again." He pouted.

Eichiro and the soldiers were nearly panting from that sexy speech.

As soon as she blinked she was greeted by the sight of Kikiyo's arrow halfway towards her heart. She quickly sidestepped it and summoned her miko powers, releasing two giant shockwaves of purple energy towards the miko. "CURSE OF THE MIKO" she watched as Kikiyo's eyes widened while desperately tried to avoid the beams. However, they both knew that the significance of that attack was the fact that you could never miss your target, the beams would follow until impact.

She was hit in her left shoulder and side, emitting a painful screech. Using the last of her energy, she summoned her soul stealers to carry her away. She could have hit her from were she stood with another blast, but she really didn't want to all she wanted was to forget about her.

Turning back around she let out a gasp to see that Sesshoumaru didn't waste any time in getting Inuyasha. He held the hanyou by the collar high in the air.

"You bring your chaos to MY land and put MY mate in danger and you expect me to let you live?" he growled menacingly at the hanyou, shaking him with ever syllable.

Calmly she walked over to enraged taiyoukai and leaned her forehead on his shoulder. "I'm tired Sesshoumaru."

Keeping his face towards the lowly bastard in his hand he looked down to see his fatigued mate leaning against him tracing circles on his arms as if waiting for him to quit playing or something. Letting out a frustrated growl, he dropped his brother and let himself transform to normal.

"Leave these lands in haste, little brother."

She waved as Inuyasha left waiting until he disappeared from sight. She was thankful that they didn't kill each other or take any other limbs from one another. Sighing she walked up the winding path, not wanting to wait for Sesshoumaru to finish giving the soldiers new orders. She bathed quickly and went back into their room. Upon lying down, she looked up to see Sesshoumaru enter, his torso was still bare from when he ripped off his armor and shirt. Slipping in beside her he, he grabbed her and placed her on him comfortably.

Words didn't need to be spoken, the way he held her close, the way he inhaled the scent of her hair, and the rhythmic beat of his heart beneath her ear was enough for her to know what he was feeling.

His anger was still pulsating through his body over the fact Inuyasha showed up on his land bringing trouble. However, the rage was mixed with pride over the fact that his mate held such a cool air over herself through a battle.

Waiting until her breathing regulated, he allowed his body to rest lightly. But his mind wondered what event would the mornings light bring with it.

~*~*~*~*~

How dare she think that she can have what belongs to me? Her anger was as unsteady as her wounded body, as she clutched a nearby tree a little outside the western lands. Her hair hung in disarray around her blood soaked and tattered miko garbs, a vexing reminder of the little abazureon'na's growing power. Does she really think that I will let her live in happiness as I suffer in loneliness?

"From this point on reincarnation I will spend every waking moment to your destruction." She snarled in the direction from which she came.

"Then let me offer my assistance miko." The familiar smooth voice surrounded her, alarming her at first but the more she thought about it, the more it made sense.
