I tried to do an Usopp and Going Merry centered one-shot after watching part of the Water 7 ark where Usopp shows just how attached he is to Merry, but it didn't really turn out the way I hoped it would.

He talks to Merry when the wind is calm, and the sea gentle. He sings her soft lullabies at night, and belches out songs for her during the day.

 

She provides him with a home, and a family. A life and a confidante. She is one thing in his life that he can't imagine living without. His nakama love Merry too, but they do not have the same bond he does.

 

One afternoon, he confesses his love. She cannot reply, but he knows that she loves him and the rest of her nakama just as much as they love her.
