Even when he opened his eyes he couldn't see. Darkness had surrounded him completely. Link found that his arms were restrained and his weapons weren't with him. He swore inwardly but thanked the goddesses that he was able to save Azmara from suffering in the darkness as well. “At least she's safe.”

“But she won't be for long. If your lover knows what's best she'll come running and bring that little brat with her. It's hard to believe that she defeated Justia. The child has extraordinary powers.” Raion stepped out of the shadows and glared up at Link. This boy was the reason why he didn't have Azalea's medallion. He wanted to slice him to ribbons but he couldn't. He had to live so that Azmara would come. “Hmph, Azmara wouldn't want to see her hero die. She'll accept my invitation to a little party we're having Link.”

“Azmara will never come.”

“Oh I assure you that she will. Trust me, she will come.”

Elsewhere, Theorello had invited Azalea and Azmara over to plan out a strategy. They sat table in Theo's kitchen over coffee and hot cocoa as they thought of a plan of attack. “He'll want all of us to come but he'll try to separate us. Disbanding isn't an option in this matter.” Theo told them. Azmara looked down at the coffee with a dazed look on her face. Link had sacrificed himself to get her out and now he was going through god knew what. “If only I had stayed behind. We would have got out together. He wouldn't be where he is. I should have used one of my spells to get back to him. Oh god…”

“Azmara, you can't keep beating yourself up for your mistakes. You can make it better by trying to find Link and setting him free from Raion's grasp. Pick your head up and keep it that way.”

Azmara got up from the table and went outside to clear her head. Azalea watched her sister leave with sadness in her heart. She felt terrible for what had happened to Link as well. “I want Link back safely too but what can we do Theo? We don't have a clue where Raion is. Link could be-”

“No Azalea. He's not so don't you think it.”

Outside, Azmara looked up at the darkened skies from Theo's balcony. The wind blew her long gold tresses as it passed by. Azmara couldn't help but let the tears trickle down her cheeks. She tightened her grip on the railing as she let the tears fall from her face. “Link…”

“Don't get discouraged Azmara. Your hero is still alive.”

It was Raion's voice that Azmara heard and she immediately summoned fire to her hand, ready to hurl it at him on sight. “Where are you?”

“Don't worry, Link is here and you will join him. If you really want to know then follow the yellow brick road my dear.” A brick yellow road appeared before Azmara, shining its bright golden light in the night. Azmara stepped over the railing and onto the yellow road. “Azmara?!”

“Azmara wait for us!”

Theorello picked Azalea up and hopped over the railing of his balcony. He ran beside Azmara with Azalea in his arm toward the sky. As they were running, the road behind them vanished a castle appeared on a white cloud. “Wow it's a castle! Link has to be there!” Azalea pointed out. Azmara and Theorello quickened in pace with hope that Link was waiting for them. When they reached the castle, a small man that looked like a dwarf stood on top of the castle gate. “State ye name and purpose.”

“Azmara, Chosen of Destiny.”

“Azalea, Sage of the Forest.”

“Theorello, Sage of Light.”

Theorello and Azalea each held up their medallions to prove they had them with them but had no intentions have surrendering them. The little man had the gate lowered and the three friends crossed it. When they arrived on the other side, the came to the castle doors but were denied entrance. “If ye want to enter then ye best be getting dressed for a party.” Another little man said. He pointed out three doors with their names on one. “Keep your guards up.” Theo warned them He stepped inside his door and shut it behind him. Azmara and Azalea waited for a moment then Azmara commanded that Azalea go into her room. She waited for a while and assumed that she would be fine. With nothing to fear, Azmara stepped inside her door and closed it behind her. It was a room with a dress waiting for her. Azmara took the dress and changed out of her kimono to put the dress on. When she was finished, she looked at her reflection to see the dress she was wearing. She frowned at the bows at the bottom and the shoes on her feet. “He's gonna get his ass handed to him for this one.” Azmara said as she stepped out of the room. Azalea and Theorello were there waiting. Theo had changed into long white pants and a short sleeved shirt with cape on his back while Azalea was dressed in green pants with matching boots and shirt. “The knight, the princess and the elf.”

“I just had to be a friggin elf. Just had to be me didn't it?”

“Don't whine shorty. Let's just go find Link so we can get the hell outta here.”

They walked toward the double doors and were allowed to enter the room that time. When they stepped inside, there was a long corridor to down. They walked until a group of little demons came their way. “I'll handle this one. Forest Cry!!!” Azalea's attack shot out at the demons and wiped them out completely. She turned back and grinned to her sister then led them out of the room. The next room was a huge ballroom where Raion was waiting for them. He stood there with a smile on his face and a hand rose to them. “Welcome to my castle.”

“Don't play the part of host just yet Raion. We aren't stay. Beating the ass outta you won't take me very long.”

Azmara looked past Raion and at Link. His long his face and his chin was planted in his chest. He was unconscious. “What have you done to him?”

“Nothing you can't cure if you get to him. I want you to play a little game Azmara. There's a reason that I have you dressed as the way you are, princess, elf and knight. Behind me are three doors, each containing a monster that guards a treasure chest. Your task is simple, retrieve the treasure and defeat the monster with it. One of Link's weapons is inside. Be careful with what you pick.” Raion stepped aside to allow Theorello, Azmara and Azalea to go through a door. As they walked to the door, Raion saw Azmara mutter something and look at Link. Was it a promise to rescue him and a small prayer? Either way neither of them world stand up to the challenge up ahead. Raion made sure to that. When they arrived at the door, Azalea switched with Azmara and took the first and Azmara switched with Theo, taking the last. They each looked at their door and wished their teammates good luck before entering.

As Azalea walked through the door she noticed that the ground below was cracked with lava flowing beneath. She hopped over to avoid the flaming hot lava and continued to look around but it was too dark. “What the heck! It's too darn dark. Maybe a little forest light will do the trick.” Azalea suggested. She rubbed her hands together and shone her green light. When she did, there was a huge monster standing before her, growling in her face. “Ahhh!!!”

In his room, Theorello had trouble fighting off the aquatic monster that he had chosen for an opponent. The spun around with jellyfish attached to its tentacles, shocking anything it touched. “Son of a bitch… this thing is fast. How do you expect me to fight this thing off?” Theorello jumped to avoid the shocking jellyfish and darted for the chest but he was knocked aside before he could reach it. Theorello got up to his knees and tried to use his magic to fight back but it didn't hurt it. “I hope Azmara and Azalea are having better luck.”

Unfortunately for him, Azmara wasn't having any better luck than him. “Ahh!! Giant scary spider thingy! Get away from me!! Ahh!! Din's fire!” Azmara launched her fire at the monster but it like Theo's effort, it was futile. “Ahh!! It didn't work! You crazy monster bitch why won't you burn?!?! Get away from me!!! Waaaah!!! I want my mommy!!!”

Raion watched as the three friends tried to battle the monster ecstatically. Soon they'd meet their end and the medallions would be his. “Soon, their lives will come to its close and Link will follow close behind.” Raion turned around and saw Link groan in pain. He would wake shortly to witness the death of his friends. Turning back to his mirror, Raion continued to watch the three fight against their opponents.

In his room, Theo had managed to dodge the jellyfish and reach the treasure chest. Theorello quickly opened it and took the boomerang from the bottom. Looking at it in awe, Theorello raced back to the monster and threw the boomerang at the jellyfish. To his advantage, the jellyfish was stunned, giving him the chance to use his magic against the jellyfish. “So that's how I defeat you. Not a problem then.”

Meanwhile, Azalea discovered the bomb sack that was inside her chest. She couldn't help but laugh at the huge monster. He ate every bomb she hurled at him. Azalea spun around and stuck her tongue out at the monster for teasing and sang at him. “Nah nah nah nah nah nah! You can't catch me!!” She told it. The monster rolled towards her and Azalea ran to a corner to avoid getting hit. When the monster hit a wall, it turned around again. “Aww did you hurt yourself? Want a treat to make it better. Here! Eat up!!” Azalea hurled a bomb at it and the monster ate the bomb. “You're so stupid… don't you ever learn?”

Elsewhere, Azmara stood backed up against the wall and with sweat dripping from her brow. The monster leapt over at her and she jumped aside and darted straight for the treasure chest. Inside was a slingshot. Azmara aimed the slingshot at the monster and hit it directly in the eye. The monster howled in pain and climbed up to wall to recuperate while Azmara laughed. “This is just friggin awesome! The itsy bitsy spider climbed up on the wall. And the beautiful Azmara made the spider fall. Ready, aim, Din's fire!!!”

From the ballroom Raion watched as his monsters were defeated by Azmara and her friends. He growled as his fool proof plan went up in smoke. “Damn them! I was positive that Azmara would fall to my power. No matter, they'll all be too weary to take me on. I'll put an end to their misery myself.” Raion promised.

“I won't let you.”

Link jumped down from the wall and tackled Raion to the ground. Raion kicked Link off and summoned his sword to his hand. While Link laid on the ground, Raion came at Link with sword and drove it at him. Since Link didn't have his shield, he couldn't protect himself. “Link!!”

“Azmara?”

Azmara slid Link's sword to him and he caught it. Wasting no time, Link moved aside and thrusted his sword into Raion. Raion dropped his blade and fell back from Link's sword. Link wiped his brow and stood up to look down at the enemy. “Link! You're ok!!” Azalea said cheerfully. Link turned to his friends and received arms full of a worried blonde haired girl. She buried her face in his chest and held onto him tightly, fearing she may lose him again if she were to let go. “I was so scared. I thought I'd lose you. I never wanted you to get hurt. Why did you sacrifice yourself to save me?” Azmara asked. Link took a step back and tilted Azmara's face up so that he could see her. “I did it because I didn't want to lose you. I knew you'd come for me. Thank you Azmara.”

Azmara took Link's hand and held tightly onto it. She never wanted to lose her friend again. “Link I-”

“Ahhh!!! The castle is shaking!! Azmara it's going to fall!!”

The castle began to shaking and the ceiling began to crumble. Link took Azmara's hand and followed the two sages out of the ballroom. They dashed through the corridors and toward the drawbridge. Link, Azalea and Theorello had made it across just in time but the bridge collapse before Azmara could cross. “Azmara!!”

“Go on you guys, I'm coming! But I'm too tired to use magic.”

Azalea looked up to Theorello and they teleported back to his apartment. “Link why didn't you go with them?”

“Because I won't leave you.”

Azmara looked at Link with her bright blue eyes. He wasn't going to leave her. Taking steps back, Azmara backed up enough and ran toward the edge of the drawbridge. “Azmara what are you doing?”

“If I jump far enough you'll be able to catch me.”

Azmara leapt off the edge of the bridge and reached out to grab Link but she fell short and tumbled down into the darkness. Link fell to his knees. “No… she can't be… Azmara!!!”

“Up here!!”

Link looked up and Azmara came falling from the sky. When Link caught her, she immediately used Farore's Wind to teleport them to Theo's apartment. He and Azalea were both waiting them to come back. When they arrived, Azalea pounced of the two with howls of joy. “You're all right!!” She yelled joyfully. As Azmara hugged her sister she looked over at Link, who had his arm around her as well. She was happy to have him back.

Early that morning, Azmara joined Link outside in her backyard. Though it for two in the morning, Azmara and Link couldn't help but see each other. “I'm glad you're all right Link.”

“As am I Azmara. When you fell I thought I'd lost you forever.”

“No way I'd let myself fall that easy. I just pulled a little magic at the very end where it was need. I believed I had to strength and I pulled through. Sounds kinda corny but it's true.”

Link didn't answer her, only wrapped his arms around her. Azmara felt the tightness of his embrace and relaxed. “Corny or not Azmara, I'm glad you're still with me. I don't want to lose you like I did Zelda. I could never forgive myself if I lost you too.” He whispered. Azmara looked up at Link with serene eyes. “You won't ever lose me. I promise I'll find you. I swear it.” She said. Link ran his hand down the back of Azmara head and looked up into the night. He thanked the goddesses once again, this time for his safe return. In his heart, he knew he could rely on Azmara just as much as she relied on him. In the end, they'd be standing together when the smoke cleared with their arms around each other.
