Artist's Commentary
The blood of his enemies runs down his vengeful scythe, his soul taken unto darkness with they death of his light, his beloved Yugi. Second in my "Angel" series. I love the coloring in his wings, which is based off of a fantastic wingset I saw in the Halloween Adventures seasonal store. His robe came out unexpectedly well; it's not see-through, but it does have a sheer quality to it. I did this by originally coloring it red, then erasing so there was a light residue left, then adding a light tone of black. The deep red of the cloth on the staff was achieved using the same technique in reverse, with a strong red base and a light layer of black over top. (And, yes, I did make Yami a girl) |
