As many know for the longest time Sakura was one of my least fave characters (far too whiny and wimpy) however she rose in my opinion during the chuunin exam when she vowed to fight for herself and quit being protected. She didn't actually seem to hold to that promise until a few chapters ago when she asked to become Tsunade's apprentice and promised Naruto that this time when they went looking for Sasuke the two of them would do it together. She's grown up folks! So in tribute to that wonderful chapter I stuck my dvds in and watched the chuunin exams again looking for a scene where Sakura cries right before her hair is hacked off during the battle with the Sound Nins. Yes I know she cries again in the series after that point but I'd like to think that these were the last tears shed in cowardice and self-centeredness. |
