This painting is a new version of the other located on this site only this time, I decided to take that concept and add a new twist to it. Here, I have once again illustrated Yami Yugi/Atemu and Sailor Moon/Serenity with a form of role reversal. Instead of the norm, I wanted Serenity/Sailor Moon to be dressed in Egyptian-like garb while Yami Yugi/Atemu would be the one sporting medieval clothing. To do this, I designed my own version of what I thought an Egyptian Serenity would look like. In terms of her jewelry, though I used reference, I wanted it all to appear very Yugioh-esque, while also remaining similar to what the real Serenity/Sailor Moon would wear. I also gave her the darker skin tones, much like those of the characters of the Yugioh Egyptian story arc, as well as what Yami Yugi/Pharaoh Atemu had himself. As for what Pharaoh Atemu/Yami Yugi is wearing, I simply borrowed the outfit that he once wore during the Duel Monsters RPG arc that occured shortly after the Duelist Kingdom saga. I must admit however, that when I first viewed that outfit, it reminded me very much of Prince Darien/Endymion's outfit in Sailor Moon so I found it particularly fitting to have him wearing it in my image. Being that the two of them took up much of the space within the image, there was little room for an elaborate background. So I simply added some Egyptian carvings on the left side, where Serenity is leaning, while on the right, divided by Yami Yugi's hair, is a simple implication of a more classical pillar and drapery.
