Episode 3: A New Student at the Tendo Dojo
Recap: The first day of a new year at Furinkan High had its ups and downs,
especially with the arrival of aliens and the new teacher, Urd. While
everyone attempted to get used to, let alone get to know, one another,
Nabiki managed to become friends with two of the aliens. Amano Buffy and
Suzie Cabbit decide to go with Nabiki after school to the Tendo Dojo so
Buffy can sign up for training there and Suzie (being cat-like in nature)
can try to break Ranma in as far as getting used to her is concerned.
"There he is! Somebody get him!"
Happosai leaped on top of a row of lockers, dodging one of the girls trying
to catch him. This was not turning out to be good for him at all this time
around. While he knew that some of the new students this year were aliens,
he hadn't expected some of them to have the capabilities they had. His
martial arts skills were barely able to keep him one step ahead of girls
with super speed, super strength, energy blasts, and the like.
Spotting an escape, he jumped for the exit. A split second after he jumped,
a loud crack filled the air behind him, followed by the smell of ozone and
burning plaster.
"Damn! Missed the little freak!" Kiddy shouted as Happosai zipped out the
doorway, her finger pointed at a scorched spot in the wall behind where he
stood a second ago. "How can anyone so old be so fast?!"
"I don't know!" Michiko yelled back. "We have to stop him, though...he's
been raiding us for too long!"
As Happosai bounded down the hallway towards the door leading outside, he
spotted a blur above him. He dodged and Suzie hit the floor on all fours.
Happosai leaped for the exit as Suzie, using her feline reflexes and claws,
attacked him again to no avail.
Happosai barely made it out to the field, only to have to dodge Mariko's new
bat. As Mariko missed with her swing, he made for one of the trees,
believing that he was home free being outside in open spaces. What he
didn't count on was another girl rapidly catching up to him in a matter of
seconds and grabbing hold of him.
"Gotcha, you little pervert!" Buffy growled as she lifted Happosai by the
back of his shirt. "Thought you could escape using the trees? Here, why
don't I help you reach them!"
Buffy grinned as she hurled Happosai into the tree he was originally heading
for. As he slammed into the base of the trunk, the tree leaned noticeably.
Happosai, being in an upside-down position, looked "down" and saw a mob of
angry girls, both human and alien, moving slowly and steadily towards him as
one.
"Is there anything happening here that I should know about?"
Everyone looked over to the open doorway and saw Urd standing there with a
bemused look to her face.
"I heard the commotion and had to see what was going on..."
"Hotcha!" Happosai exclaimed as he crossed the distance between Urd and
himself in a few leaps, landing squarely on her bosom.
"Aaack! What do you think you're doing, you old goat!?" Urd yelled as she
used a force bolt to throw him back into the tree. As Happosai hit the tree
again, the tree leaned until it was close to 45 degrees off of an upright
position.
However, Urd wasn't done with him, not by a long shot. While everyone,
including the guys off to the side, were watching, Urd made several smooth
motions with her arms as she chanted:
"Spirits of the sky, heed my call!
I, Urd, greatest of the Norns,
Command you to bring justice
upon this reprobate!"
As she finished her spell, lightning split the sky and found its mark.
Happosai went flying as the ground and tree around him exploded. The tree,
in the meantime, gave up the ghost and fell to the ground, smoldering and
burning in places where the lightning bolt hit.
"Hmph! Okay everyone! Go back to what you were doing! It's all over!"
Urd called out with a smile as she turned to go back inside.
"You know, it's not going to be so bad having Urd-sensei around." Mariko
said while looking over the remains of the tree and where Happosai lay
nearby. "If she can fry that old freak like that, she's all right. You
didn't do too bad either, Buffy. Guess I didn't need to butt in like that
earlier in class."
"It's all right, Mariko. I appreciated the warning about Tetsuo anyway.
At least this was our last class of the day. Think he learned his lesson?"
"Nope." Nabiki simply said, coming up behind the two. "It might slow him
down a bit, but he never learns. Listen, Buffy, I'll be waiting for you
and Suzie out by the main gate, alright? You two still need to change back
into uniform."
"Okay! I'll still need to call my grandparents as well to fill them in.
See you later!"
As the girls and most of the guys went back to their respective locker rooms
to get ready to go home, Billie, Dozul, Joat-mon, and Mackie remained to
look over the shattered tree.
"I-I-I don't get it." Billie stammered. "There wasn't a cloud in the sky,
but lightning hit this tree anyway! It doesn't make any sense!"
"Dude, I don't think the weather had anything to do with this! Did you see
Urd do that funky thing with her arms? It was her I tell you!" Mackie
replied.
"Maybe that's how she uses some sort of power she has." Dozul pondered.
"Maybe she's an alien as well. No human has powers like that..."
"Alien or not, she's a babe." Joat-mon said. "If we're going to have any
fun in class, though, we'll have to be careful or else we'll end up like
that as well!"
"Well, *you'll* have to be careful...*we* don't!" Mackie said pointedly.
"I think the rest of us are going to have fun without having to resort to
your practical jokes, like when you slipped a Robotech soundtrack into my
Chipman instead of my "best guitar licks" collection between 4th and 5th
periods. Ewww...that was really low! I don't know if I can get those
fake Minmay songs out of my memory banks!"
A while later, Nabiki, Buffy, and Suzie were walking down one of Nerima
district's streets, chatting amongst themselves.
"Let me get this straight, Nabiki," Buffy was asking, "because Ranma
defeated this Shampoo girl in combat, her laws say that she has to marry
him? I thought he was already engaged to your sister Akane!"
"He is, and Shampoo knows it. Doesn't stop her from trying, though."
"Stubborn as a mule, huh? I'm glad my planet never had laws like that."
"Same here, guys!" Suzie joined in. "Does Ranma do anything to discourage
it at all?"
"I'm not sure, Suzie." Nabiki replied. "He *has* been found in compromising
positions more than a few times."
"What a jerk!" Buffy spat out. "If it weren't an arranged marriage, I'd be
calling it off if I were Akane!"
"Yeah, well, the marriage was arranged to keep the dojo going, since both
my father and Ranma's father trained under the same master. It's a way of
keeping the Anything-Goes School of Martial Arts united. Speaking of which,
here we are!"
As Nabiki led her new friends through the gate, they were amazed at the
spaciousness and beauty of the grounds.
"Whoa, nice place you've got here, Nabiki! You've even got a pet panda
here!" Buffy said, indicating a panda standing by the entryway of the
house.
"Yeah, must've taken a lot of time training it to do tricks like sweeping
the walk there!" Suzie chimed in, pointing out the broom in one of the
panda's paws. The panda made some noises and raised a sign reading "Hello"
in the other paw.
"Cool! It can even communicate! It's like those gorillas I've heard
about...the kind that can speak in sign language!" Buffy said with
amazement.
"Let's just say it took some...doing..." Nabiki said with a smile. "Come
on! I'll take you to meet my older sister and my father."
"What about your mother? I haven't heard you make mention of her..." Buffy
asked as they made their way to the entryway.
Nabiki paused for a few seconds, then said quietly, "She passed away when I
was little. This way."
"Sorry, Nabiki. I didn't mean to raise up a bad subject like that." Buffy
said with a bit of remorse.
"That's alright. It happened a long time ago anyway. Oh, hi Kasumi!"
As they entered the house, Kasumi came over from the kitchen to greet them.
"Hello, Nabiki. Brought some new friends home from school today?"
"Yeah, Kasumi, this is Buffy, and this is Suzie. Buffy, Suzie, this is my
older sister Kasumi."
After the girls exchanged pleasantries, Kasumi took a step back to look
Suzie over. "Oh, dear. I hope Suzie doesn't cause any trouble for Ranma
when he gets home. You know how he is about cats, Nabiki."
"Yeah, but he's going to have to get used to her and one of the other
students. He really freaked this morning before classes started when he ran
into her. At least it'll be a kick watching what happens in the meantime!"
Nabiki replied with a snicker.
"Aahhh, Nabiki, I see you brought some guests home with you. How do you do?
I'm her father, Tendo Soun."
The girls looked past where Kasumi was standing to see Mr. Tendo walking up
in his usual brown gi.
"Hi Daddy! Yeah, these are my new classmates, Amano Buffy and Suzie Cabbit.
Buffy was asking about dojos at school, so I brought her over here so she
can check the place out."
"A new student here? Nabiki, you do your father proud! I knew you'd come
through for the family one day!" Mr. Tendo said with passion, tears flowing
from his eyes.
"Umm, Nabiki, is your father usually this emotional over things?" Buffy
asked incredulously.
"Sometimes, he's even worse than this. Anyway, Daddy, why don't we work out
some sort of deal with Buffy for training here?"
A while later, after negotiations in the living room...
"Hmmm, the rates are a little high, as well as the damage compensation
terms, but it *is* a family-run dojo, and it has a very nice atmosphere.
Okay! I'll go for it!"
Tears welled up once again in Mr. Tendo's eyes as Buffy applied her father's
family seal to the contract. What filled Nabiki's eyes, though, were yen
signs.
"Well then, Buffy, we'll have your training start tomorrow, after school.
You'll be training with my youngest daughter, Akane. In fact, she should be
here anytime now, along with her fiance, Saotome Ranma."
"Sounds good to me. I've heard quite a bit about those two, and I'd like
to meet them to see what they're like in person!"
Almost on cue, the sounds of a couple arguing filled the house.
"You're blowing this all out of proportion, Akane! I didn't ask Shampoo to
bring lunch for me today!"
"Well, you didn't have to accept it, Ranma! Especially since I went through
the trouble of making a lunch for you today!"
"What, you think I have a death-wish, you tomboy?!"
"Ooooohhhh! Ranma....you jerk!!!"
Before Akane could kick Ranma through the roof, Mr. Tendo stepped inbetween
them and held his youngest daughter at bay.
"Now, children, this is no way to behave in front of guests. Nabiki brought
a couple of her classmates over and one of them is going to be training here
on a regular basis. You two behave, alright?"
As the two looked over to where the girls were sitting, Ranma's eyes widened
in terror as his eyes ran across Suzie.
"I-i-i-it's her again! That cat girl from this morning!" Ranma yelled out
from his new position clinging to the celing. While everyone was watching
Ranma cringe in terror, Nabiki and Buffy were giggling to each other
quietly.
"Nabiki! You brought her over here on purpose, didn't you?" Akane called
out to her sister.
"That's right." Nabiki said with a smile as she stood up and walked over to
Ranma with Suzie. "Saotome Ranma, meet Suzie Cabbit. She's one of the new
students, and she's a classmate of mine, so I think you should start getting
used to her, ne?"
"Bu-bu-bu-but..."
"By the way, Ranma..." Suzie was saying as she climbed up a wall and over
to where he was clinging to the ceiling. "I'm a Khel'azi, not a cat, so you
don't have to be afraid of me, cutie-pie!" she finished with a wink.
Ranma, still driven by his phobia, let go of the ceiling and fell on the
floor at Akane's feet. "O-o-o-okay...just keep your distance from me and
we'll get along, alright?"
"Awww...that's no fun, Ranma! Oh, well, I know about your engagement to
Akane, so I'll leave you alone, alright?" Suzie replied, looking down on him
from the ceiling.
"If we're all done with that," Mr. Tendo cut in, "there's one other person
here you should meet. Amano Buffy here," he said, indicating Buffy who was
watching things with amusement, "will be training here with you at the dojo
starting tomorrow afternoon. I think you should get to know each other!"
"Oh, sorry!" Akane said, turning to greet the other guest. "In case you
haven't figured it out, I'm Akane, and that's Ranma down there."
"Nice to meet you! Nabiki's been telling us about you two. You should have
seen Kuno at lunch when Ranma's name was mentioned."
"I think I have a good idea, since he stormed into our classroom at that
time. Hinako-sensei got him a second time in one day. I heard that your
chemistry teacher also had to deal with him!"
"Yeah, he made a pass at Urd sensei and she used some sort of power to knock
him a few feet. He got off lucky. Should've seen what she did to some old
lech at the end of the day!"
"Ummm...was he about this short and balding?" Ranma asked, holding his hand
not too far off of the floor.
"Yeah!" Suzie exclaimed, a slight growl to her voice. "Why, do you know
that little freak?!"
"Let's just say that you're not the only ones who want to do him in..."
"So, Buffy," Kasumi interrupted, before things got dangerous. "Have you
seen the dojo yet?"
"That's right! I haven't seen it except from the outside. Mind if I take
a look?"
"Here, why don't I show you?" Akane said pleasantly. As she led Buffy out
to the dojo, Nabiki and Suzie followed, with Ranma trailing behind to keep
his distance from Suzie.
When they entered the dojo, Buffy was impressed. It was spacious enough,
and in good condition. She also noticed spots where there was some recent
repairs. That impressed her even more, since that indicated that the dojo
was well-used and would stand up to her abilities...with a little help,
that is.
"Hey, Nabiki!" Suzie said as she walked along one of the walls. "Didn't
you say that there was another student here, that other girl that Kuno's
got a thing for?"
"Huh?" Akane and Ranma said simultaneously, not liking where this was
headed.
"Oh, yeah, that's right!" Nabiki replied slyly, walking slowly toward
Ranma and picking up a bucket of water along the way.
"W-w-w-wait a second! Nabiki...could you put that bucket down?" Ranma
stammered, backing away and trying to find a way out.
"Oh, all right, Ranma." Nabiki said, first making as if she was setting the
bucket down, then splashing the contents on him.
Both Buffy and Suzie gaped as the transformation took effect. Both have
seen a lot out there in the universe, but neither of then have seen a sex
change caused by getting wet.
"That's just great, Nabiki!" a now-female Ranma was shouting. "What were
you thinking?!"
"I thought it would be better to show our guests rather than to sit down and
try to explain things." Nabiki said with a wink.
"Wha-wha-what happened there!?" Buffy said weakly, starting to recover from
the shock. "He, I mean, She was a guy just a moment ago! You mean that
Ranma here's the 'pig-tailed goddess' that Kuno's after??"
"Yup!" Nabiki answered with a smile.
"Does he even know??" Suzie managed at last.
"Nope. We've tried on several occasions to tell him, but he's too thick-
headed to figure it out. We've even done the girl-to-guy transformation
while Kuno was holding him, but Kuno still wasn't able to put two and two
together."
Buffy and Suzie turned slowly to look at Ranma, then to look at each other.
The looks on their faces turned gradually from shock to smiles, then they
broke down laughing, rolling on the dojo floor.
"Hahahaha! This is rich! That Kuno is a real idiot!!" Suzie was gasping
after a minute of uncontrolled hysteria.
"What's even richer is that we've got a guy here who's getting a taste of
what us girls go through at times! Bwahahahaha!" Buffy replied, returning
to hysterics.
"This isn't even funny! How'd you like it if you've got that Kuno jerk
chasing after you?!" Ranma shouted at the two on the floor.
After another minute of wild laughter, Buffy managed to collect herself
enough to ask "Just how did Ranma here get to be this way?"
Soon as Suzie calmed down a bit more, all five sat down on the dojo floor
as the nature of Ranma and Genma's curses were explained. While Ranma was
getting noticably irritated as the tale was retold, both Buffy and Suzie
had sobered up a bit and had some sympathy for Ranma.
"Geez, Ranma, your dad sure finds ways of putting you through hell because
of his incompetance!" Suzie tried to console Ranma from a distance. "First
the cat-thing, and now Jusenkyo!"
"Yeah, I'm glad I don't have your dad." Buffy chimed in. "Sorry about
laughing at you earlier...No hard feelings, Ranma? At least it'll be
interesting training here!"
"Yeah, well, I guess it couldn't be helped. No hard feelings, Buffy."
With that, Ranma reached out and shook Buffy's hand.
"For what it's worth, your secret's safe with us." Suzie said.
"Thanks. Most people know about our little secret at school, except for
idiots like Kuno, but some people really shouldn't know..."
Akane got up and headed out the doorway. "I'm going to see if I can get
Kasumi to fix up a couple of extra dinners, okay guys?"
"Thanks, Akane!" Suzie called out after her.
"I think I can manage to stay a bit longer. Thanks!" Buffy added.
"Hey, you're not going to try to help out in the kitchen, are you?" Ranma
asked.
"So what if I am? Shouldn't I help make our guests feel at home, Ranma?"
"Hey, I thought we were supposed to be hospitable to guests, not trying to
kill them, you tomboy!"
"Ranma..." Akane growled menacingly, taking a fighting stance.
"Hey, come on you two!" Nabiki cut in. "Enough of that...let's go get
dinner!"
As the others got up to head back for the house, an old man's voice could
be heard from there.
"Heighdy-ho! I'm home!"
"Hello, Happosai. And where did we get these?" Kasumi could be heard
saying.

"Let's just say it took some...doing..." Nabiki said with a smile. "Come
on! I'll take you to meet my older sister and my father."
"What about your mother? I haven't heard you make mention of her..." Buffy
asked as they made their way to the entryway.
Nabiki paused for a few seconds, then said quietly, "She passed away when I
was little. This way."
"Sorry, Nabiki. I didn't mean to raise up a bad subject like that." Buffy
said with a bit of remorse.
"That's alright. It happened a long time ago anyway. Oh, hi Kasumi!"
As they entered the house, Kasumi came over from the kitchen to greet them.
"Hello, Nabiki. Brought some new friends home from school today?"
"Yeah, Kasumi, this is Buffy, and this is Suzie. Buffy, Suzie, this is my
older sister Kasumi."
After the girls exchanged pleasantries, Kasumi took a step back to look
Suzie over. "Oh, dear. I hope Suzie doesn't cause any trouble for Ranma
when he gets home. You know how he is about cats, Nabiki."
"Yeah, but he's going to have to get used to her and one of the other
students. He really freaked this morning before classes started when he ran
into her. At least it'll be a kick watching what happens in the meantime!"
Nabiki replied with a snicker.
"Aahhh, Nabiki, I see you brought some guests home with you. How do you do?
I'm her father, Tendo Soun."
The girls looked past where Kasumi was standing to see Mr. Tendo walking up
in his usual brown gi.
"Hi Daddy! Yeah, these are my new classmates, Amano Buffy and Suzie Cabbit.
Buffy was asking about dojos at school, so I brought her over here so she
can check the place out."
"A new student here? Nabiki, you do your father proud! I knew you'd come
through for the family one day!" Mr. Tendo said with passion, tears flowing
from his eyes.
"Umm, Nabiki, is your father usually this emotional over things?" Buffy
asked incredulously.
"Sometimes, he's even worse than this. Anyway, Daddy, why don't we work out
some sort of deal with Buffy for training here?"
A while later, after negotiations in the living room...
"Hmmm, the rates are a little high, as well as the damage compensation
terms, but it *is* a family-run dojo, and it has a very nice atmosphere.
Okay! I'll go for it!"
Tears welled up once again in Mr. Tendo's eyes as Buffy applied her father's
family seal to the contract. What filled Nabiki's eyes, though, were yen
signs.
"Well then, Buffy, we'll have your training start tomorrow, after school.
You'll be training with my youngest daughter, Akane. In fact, she should be
here anytime now, along with her fiance, Saotome Ranma."
"Sounds good to me. I've heard quite a bit about those two, and I'd like
to meet them to see what they're like in person!"
Almost on cue, the sounds of a couple arguing filled the house.
"You're blowing this all out of proportion, Akane! I didn't ask Shampoo to
bring lunch for me today!"
"Well, you didn't have to accept it, Ranma! Especially since I went through
the trouble of making a lunch for you today!"
"What, you think I have a death-wish, you tomboy?!"
"Ooooohhhh! Ranma....you jerk!!!"
Before Akane could kick Ranma through the roof, Mr. Tendo stepped inbetween
them and held his youngest daughter at bay.
"Now, children, this is no way to behave in front of guests. Nabiki brought
a couple of her classmates over and one of them is going to be training here
on a regular basis. You two behave, alright?"
As the two looked over to where the girls were sitting, Ranma's eyes widened
in terror as his eyes ran across Suzie.
"I-i-i-it's her again! That cat girl from this morning!" Ranma yelled out
from his new position clinging to the celing. While everyone was watching
Ranma cringe in terror, Nabiki and Buffy were giggling to each other
quietly.
"Nabiki! You brought her over here on purpose, didn't you?" Akane called
out to her sister.
"That's right." Nabiki said with a smile as she stood up and walked over to
Ranma with Suzie. "Saotome Ranma, meet Suzie Cabbit. She's one of the new
students, and she's a classmate of mine, so I think you should start getting
used to her, ne?"
"Bu-bu-bu-but..."
"By the way, Ranma..." Suzie was saying as she climbed up a wall and over
to where he was clinging to the ceiling. "I'm a Khel'azi, not a cat, so you
don't have to be afraid of me, cutie-pie!" she finished with a wink.
Ranma, still driven by his phobia, let go of the ceiling and fell on the
floor at Akane's feet. "O-o-o-okay...just keep your distance from me and
we'll get along, alright?"
"Awww...that's no fun, Ranma! Oh, well, I know about your engagement to
Akane, so I'll leave you alone, alright?" Suzie replied, looking down on him
from the ceiling.
"If we're all done with that," Mr. Tendo cut in, "there's one other person
here you should meet. Amano Buffy here," he said, indicating Buffy who was
watching things with amusement, "will be training here with you at the dojo
starting tomorrow afternoon. I think you should get to know each other!"
"Oh, sorry!" Akane said, turning to greet the other guest. "In case you
haven't figured it out, I'm Akane, and that's Ranma down there."
"Nice to meet you! Nabiki's been telling us about you two. You should have
seen Kuno at lunch when Ranma's name was mentioned."
"I think I have a good idea, since he stormed into our classroom at that
time. Hinako-sensei got him a second time in one day. I heard that your
chemistry teacher also had to deal with him!"
"Yeah, he made a pass at Urd sensei and she used some sort of power to knock
him a few feet. He got off lucky. Should've seen what she did to some old
lech at the end of the day!"
"Ummm...was he about this short and balding?" Ranma asked, holding his hand
not too far off of the floor.
"Yeah!" Suzie exclaimed, a slight growl to her voice. "Why, do you know
that little freak?!"
"Let's just say that you're not the only ones who want to do him in..."
"So, Buffy," Kasumi interrupted, before things got dangerous. "Have you
seen the dojo yet?"
"That's right! I haven't seen it except from the outside. Mind if I take
a look?"
"Here, why don't I show you?" Akane said pleasantly. As she led Buffy out
to the dojo, Nabiki and Suzie followed, with Ranma trailing behind to keep
his distance from Suzie.
When they entered the dojo, Buffy was impressed. It was spacious enough,
and in good condition. She also noticed spots where there was some recent
repairs. That impressed her even more, since that indicated that the dojo
was well-used and would stand up to her abilities...with a little help,
that is.
"Hey, Nabiki!" Suzie said as she walked along one of the walls. "Didn't
you say that there was another student here, that other girl that Kuno's
got a thing for?"
"Huh?" Akane and Ranma said simultaneously, not liking where this was
headed.
"Oh, yeah, that's right!" Nabiki replied slyly, walking slowly toward
Ranma and picking up a bucket of water along the way.
"W-w-w-wait a second! Nabiki...could you put that bucket down?" Ranma
stammered, backing away and trying to find a way out.
"Oh, all right, Ranma." Nabiki said, first making as if she was setting the
bucket down, then splashing the contents on him.
Both Buffy and Suzie gaped as the transformation took effect. Both have
seen a lot out there in the universe, but neither of then have seen a sex
change caused by getting wet.
"That's just great, Nabiki!" a now-female Ranma was shouting. "What were
you thinking?!"
"I thought it would be better to show our guests rather than to sit down and
try to explain things." Nabiki said with a wink.
"Wha-wha-what happened there!?" Buffy said weakly, starting to recover from
the shock. "He, I mean, She was a guy just a moment ago! You mean that
Ranma here's the 'pig-tailed goddess' that Kuno's after??"
"Yup!" Nabiki answered with a smile.
"Does he even know??" Suzie managed at last.
"Nope. We've tried on several occasions to tell him, but he's too thick-
headed to figure it out. We've even done the girl-to-guy transformation
while Kuno was holding him, but Kuno still wasn't able to put two and two
together."
Buffy and Suzie turned slowly to look at Ranma, then to look at each other.
The looks on their faces turned gradually from shock to smiles, then they
broke down laughing, rolling on the dojo floor.
"Hahahaha! This is rich! That Kuno is a real idiot!!" Suzie was gasping
after a minute of uncontrolled hysteria.
"What's even richer is that we've got a guy here who's getting a taste of
what us girls go through at times! Bwahahahaha!" Buffy replied, returning
to hysterics.
"This isn't even funny! How'd you like it if you've got that Kuno jerk
chasing after you?!" Ranma shouted at the two on the floor.
After another minute of wild laughter, Buffy managed to collect herself
enough to ask "Just how did Ranma here get to be this way?"
Soon as Suzie calmed down a bit more, all five sat down on the dojo floor
as the nature of Ranma and Genma's curses were explained. While Ranma was
getting noticably irritated as the tale was retold, both Buffy and Suzie
had sobered up a bit and had some sympathy for Ranma.
"Geez, Ranma, your dad sure finds ways of putting you through hell because
of his incompetance!" Suzie tried to console Ranma from a distance. "First
the cat-thing, and now Jusenkyo!"
"Yeah, I'm glad I don't have your dad." Buffy chimed in. "Sorry about
laughing at you earlier...No hard feelings, Ranma? At least it'll be
interesting training here!"
"Yeah, well, I guess it couldn't be helped. No hard feelings, Buffy."
With that, Ranma reached out and shook Buffy's hand.
"For what it's worth, your secret's safe with us." Suzie said.
"Thanks. Most people know about our little secret at school, except for
idiots like Kuno, but some people really shouldn't know..."
Akane got up and headed out the doorway. "I'm going to see if I can get
Kasumi to fix up a couple of extra dinners, okay guys?"
"Thanks, Akane!" Suzie called out after her.
"I think I can manage to stay a bit longer. Thanks!" Buffy added.
"Hey, you're not going to try to help out in the kitchen, are you?" Ranma
asked.
"So what if I am? Shouldn't I help make our guests feel at home, Ranma?"
"Hey, I thought we were supposed to be hospitable to guests, not trying to
kill them, you tomboy!"
"Ranma..." Akane growled menacingly, taking a fighting stance.
"Hey, come on you two!" Nabiki cut in. "Enough of that...let's go get
dinner!"
As the others got up to head back for the house, an old man's voice could
be heard from there.
"Heighdy-ho! I'm home!"
"Hello, Happosai. And where did we get these?" Kasumi could be heard
saying.
