Loneliness

Can you hear me?

Can you hear my silent cry for help?

Do you notice me falling deeper and deeper

As the darkness consumes me?

Please tell me that you hear me.

Please tell me I don't have to scream.

I know that you can't hear me;

No one ever has before.

I'll learn to live in loneliness.

I'll learn to like being alone.

Why is it when I'm surrounded by love

I feel most empty inside?

Why is it the more I take the less I have

And the more I give, the less there is?

Can I ever win?

Will I ever know?

Will I be tormented in my loneliness forever

By the question without an answer?

Will it ever be silenced

Or will it resound off the walls forever,

Repeating over and over

Until insanity has it's full grip on me?

Will I ever be the innocent I was?

Will I ever be heard?

Will I be forever alone in my own world

As I watch the purple sky and candy clouds over head?

Will I sigh to myself at how wishing for loneliness

Will leave you with only that in the end?
