Chapter 4 -In a single second History can catch you

Hugging against the wall of the building, Daisuke crept his way towards the nearest window on the third floor.
“Remind me again why I'm doing this”
“Because the cops are looking at the sky I can't just fly in when they are all looking”
Never stopped you before”
“Well I've never had to retrieve an item of this value before. I can't risk making a big entrance. I want this to go quickly and smoothly”
Daisuke would have argued against that but he was trying hard not to fall
Just 5 more feet…”

Landing on the roof Ambriel gave a huge sigh of relief. Dodging those spotlights was made even more difficult by the pain in her right wing.
Hmmm, so you plan to get it back do you?”
Would it matter to you if I did?”
Want help? Let me out and I'll get it back for you”
“Like I'm to believe that... Go back to your hiding place. I don't need you interrupting me on this mission”
“Heh…I'll be watching”
Putting on her gloved Ambriel opened a fire door and began to make her decent to the forth floor.

Climbing through the window Daisuke sank to the floor panting knowing he could finally relax.
Thanks Daisuke but I'll take it from here now”
And with that Daisuke's form began to change. His hair became longer and purple. His eyes shone a different tone and a cheeky expression took over his features. Standing, Dark wiped the dust of his clothes.
Why do you wear the clothes my mom gives us?”
Heh… it's not like I have a choice”
Calling Wiz to his side Dark began to walk towards the floor no which the pendant could be found.

Treading carefully hardly any noise could be heard from Ambriels footsteps. Looking around the room she was in, the whereabouts of her necklace was made all to clear when she saw the lit case it was held in. She slowly walked over to it and gave a short sigh feeling a comfort that soon she would have it around her neck once more. She needed to make sure that the sensors would not sound the alarm. Looking at the site she noticed that the sensors were weight based, if the display got any lighter, it would indicate that the piece had been moved and therefore stolen. A small grin twitched at her lips; being around as long as she had meant that you picked up a few things. Pulling out a thick strap of copper she placed it just under the pendant. It was equal in weight so the sensors shouldn't go off. Carefully tugging at her possession, she lifted it out of the case. Holding her breathe she sighed when the alarms didn't sound. Her decoy had worked. Placing the pendant back where it belonged she heard a sickening laughter in her head.
“Well looks like you did it. But there's one thing you forgot to take into account”
“And what's that?”
“Turn around my dear and find out for yourself”
Ambriels eyes widened. For the first time in a long while Alexis voice had sent a chill down her spine. Turning slowly she drew her eyes on something she did not expect to ever see.

Placing his hands in his pockets Dark gradually made his way to the room. Walking towards where the piece was he stopped dead when he saw a shadow standing in front of it.
Looks like some one got here first”
Dark what are you going to do?”
Dark began to slowly tighten his fist when he saw that the shadow had curves and long hair.
“hmmm introduce myself I think” If Dark could see, Daisuke was rolling his eyes at his predictable response.
Taking a step further Dark began to adopt a stance he often gave when trying to attract a woman. He was about to speak when the figure turned to face him. He stopped in his pace and gave a sharp gasp as the figures features revealed themselves to him.
“A…Amber?”

Facing the man a sharp urge to flee took over her.
“Amber?” he spoke. It was him, it was Dark, the man she loved and lost so long ago.
She wanted to say something to him, something to explain why she left, why she couldn't say goodbye. However, the urge in her took over, knowing she was now wearing her necklace again she ran for the window. Spreading her wings she crashed through the glass. Flying fast she managed to miss the public spotlight which now shone on the window she had just escaped from. She was away from that place creating a greater distance every second.

“A…Amber?”
“Dark who is she?”
His eyes traced her as she began to run
“AMBER! STOP!”
“Darks she's wearing the necklace”
Dark began to head for the window. Seeing the spotlight he hid behind the wall.
Daisuke I need you to stay hidden, I don't want you to see or hear anything until I call you out okay?”
“Okay but Dark how are you going to get past all these people? They're looking at the window now.”
Don't worry about that just stay hidden until I say”
And with that he called Wiz and charged out of the window.

Closing the door of her apartment Ambriel lay her against the wooden grain, the small of her back arched around the golden handle. Gliding down to her knees a shaky sigh spilled the state of her nerves across the room.
He's back
She placed her hands on the gentle carpet.
And he's seen me

Standing at a distance a male was admiring the situation. Clearing his blonde hair from his golden eyes, a smirk spread across his face seeing a female make her desperate escape crashing through the window.
“Well well, so you're back I see deer Ambriel”
His eyed widened further with excitement as he saw a familiar black winged foe creep from the same window and head in the same direction as the female.
“And my deer friend Dark knows it too. How interesting”
Raising a gloved hand to his lip he laughed insanely, tilting his head back.
“Looks like it's about time I started having fun”
In a blaze of white feathers he disappeared into the night.
