Sacrificing Love
Chapter Two: The New Life
Bulma heard a noise outside of her cell. The monsters had finished their fun. She could hear them talk in their native language. Bulma wished that they had forgotten about her. Bulma would rather die than take what these men had in store for her-whatever it was, she knew it wasn't for good.
It wasn't like she hadn't thought about a way to escape. She knew that she couldn't fight them. That was suicide. She had thought about knocking them out and taking their ship. That would be a mistake, since she had no idea how many of them there were. So all she could do was hope. That was all that she had left now. There was nothing else that she could do.
Bulma's stomach knotted up as she heard the lock being opened. She looked around at the other women in the room. They both had a similar looks on their faces as Bulma did. They all were terrified at what could intrude in their temporary solitude.
The dark man that had brought her here in the first place entered with another one who had the same color of hair and eyes. The other two women cowered into a corner. Bulma stood in the front. One thing she learned in life. Never give anyone an advatage over you.
Letti turned to Bardock. "These are some of the passengers that were on the ship. I only found three of them."
Bardock turned to look at the blue-haired prisoner who was boldly standing her ground. "They are probably scared out of their wits, with the exception of that one." Bardock scratched his head. "I guess they can be gifts for King Vegeta, to try to make up for our mistake, since we will be the ones blamed for this little stunt."
Letti nodded. The other Saiyans, excluding King Vegeta, would most likely blame them in fear of Frieza's wrath. What would happen if Frieza knew exactly what they were trying to accomplish? He didn't even want to think about it. "They don't understand Saiyago. I don't know the Chikyuu language."
Bardock turned to leave. "Make sure none of the other men know about them, because they may try to do something to them to relieve their frustrations. King Vegeta wouldn't like to get damaged slaves."
"They are pretty weak creatures. I'll be sure to tell them," Letti said as the two moved towards the door and left.
Bulma let out the deep breath that she had been holding in since they had arrived. Thank Kami that they hadn't tried anything. She couldn't understand what they were talking about, but she had a really good guess what her fate would be. Bulma turned to the others. "Calm down. I don't think that they'll harm us."
One of them spoke. "You don't know that. They could be telling those other freaks that we're here."
Bulma shook her head. "They sounded pretty calm. I think we're going to be turned over to their leader." She sat with her back against the wall. "We can only hope that whoever they are will be as merciful as those other guys were." She sighed. She probably would never see Chikyuu again. Never see her corperation, never see her friends, never see…Yamcha. He had been her first and only love. Now, she would never-she felt her eyes burning with potential tears and she quickly forced them back down. No. She would not cry. She had to accept her new life. Bulma would have to forget her past. She knew that she probably couldn't, but she had to try. It would be less painless that way. Bulma pulled her knees into her chest. Now all she needed to do was wait.

Letti stepped through the doorway and took in the air. Home. He was here. Though he had many worries on his mind, he couldn't think about them with the golden sunlight in his eyes and the cool breeze hitting his face. All he wished was to go to his own home to see his wife and daughter. But he knew that notifying the king was always first on the agenda.
Letti was engrossed in his thoughts when Bardock pulled up beside him. "I guess we tell King Vegeta now."
"Nervous?" Letti asked, knowing full and well that he was.
"I always am when I have to tell King Vegeta bad news. You never know how he'll react." Bardock looked out at the horizon. "But, it must be done." He started down the ramp. Letti turned back in to the ship. The other Saiyans had emptied. `Good. This will make it even easier' he thought as he punched in the code to unlock the cell.
Bulma woke to the sound of mechanical buttons being pressed. They had landed? She was aware of the fear in the pit of her stomach. Well, she supposed it would be best to find out what would happen to her as soon as she could. She stood, waiting for the door to open.
The dark-haired man entered. The other women had stepped back. He gestured for them to follow him. The two women took another involuntary step towards the back wall. Bulma looked at them. "We might as well follow him. He might use force." The women then complied and walked behind Bulma as she followed the dark man. She looked down at his structure. He had some sort of a tail. Who were these people?
The man led her and the others to an elogant room with a giant throne, complete with a giant man seated on it with dark brown hair. He was arguing with the other man who she had seen in the ship's confinement. Well, she hoped that they were arguing about them. Maybe they would get to go back to Chikyuu after all.
"I'm trying to explain, Vegeta-ou. There was only one ship at the time that you had told us to attack."
King Vegeta rose an eyebrow in disbelief. "Are you inferring that this entire matter is my fault?"
"No, Saiyan no Ou, I'm saying that Frieza tricked us. He probably knew all along what we were trying to do."
"Then what was on the ship that you raided?" King Vegeta asked with his teeth clenched. His anger for failure was rapidly rising.
"Passengers from Chikyuu, we believe. We even brought a few of them to give to you."
"More slaves? I have many of them. Why should I care about any more?"
"It was the least we could do, since the attempt failed."
King Vegeta waved his hand. "Fine. Send them off to the slave's quarters. I don't give a damn. They could help prepare for the celebration of my son's arrival."
Bardock's face displayed a shocked expression. "Prince Vegeta is coming back?"
"Is that not what I just said? He's coming back from his training. Perhaps he has already reached Super-Saiyan. If he has, we wouldn't need to worry about Frieza anymore."
"That's quite right." Bardock said with a nod. If Vegeta-ouji was returning, then he would also see Kakarrot. Kakarrot was one of Prince Vegeta's personal guards. He had been gone for three years now, and now Bardock would get to see his beloved son again. His attention turned back to the king. "Well, hopefully Vegeta-ouji has become the legendary." He looked around. "If there is nothing else, I would ask for your dissmissal."
"You have it. Now go." King Vegeta turned away.
Bardock shot a glance at Letti. Letti motioned for the three women to follow him to the slave's quarters. He brought them to a large room. "You all will be residing here." And with that, he turned around and closed the door behind him.
Bulma looked around the room. It had five doors, leading to Kami knows where. "I guess we should try a door." Bulma said to the others. They nervously nodded, and followed her like lambs to the slaughter as Bulma placed her hand on one of the doors and pushed it open.
It was a hallway with many other doors. Bulma supposed that they contained the servants' private rooms. She didn't want to barge in on anyone, so she knocked softly on a random door.
"Yes, what is it!?!" a voice yelled.
Bulma hesitated, then opened the door. There, she was greeted with a woman with black hair and menacing black eyes. She was standing next to a small bed. The room was big and relatively bright with the window supplying the light of the sun as it bounced off of the light colored walls. "Um, we're new here, and we were wondering where we're supposed to be."
The women's face softened. "Oh, you guys just came in. You are supposed to be in the serving slave quarter." She walked towards them. "I'll show you where it is." The woman led them back down the hallway to the room with the five doors.
"What are you? I thought this was supposed to be the slaves' room."
"I am at a place higher than a common slave, no offense. I'm the royal cook."
Bulma and the others followed this woman through one of the doors and found themselves in another hallway. "Oh, so they have separate wings for the servants."
"Sort of. The people living in my wing have control of where they go."
"And I suppose that we don't?"
"No. I'm sorry." She led them through another door. "You all are told what to do by our people. But if you want, you all can work under me in the kitchen. I am probably better than any of those power-hungry people that are in control of the other slaves."
"I would like to. You sound like a nice person."
The woman smiled. "So do you."
Bulma held out a hand. "I'm Bulma."
The woman accepted her hand and shook it. "I'm Chi Chi."
"So what exactly are we supposed to do?"
"Well, there's a huge party that is scheduled for tonight." Chi Chi turned to the other two women. "You guys can carry the trays of food to the serving slaves that will carry them to the guests' tables." She turned back to Bulma. "You can carry the trays to the royal table. That's all you guys will have to do."
"That seems easy enough." Bulma said. She looked around. "Should we take any old room?"
Chi Chi pointed to three rooms. "You guys can take those three. Try to be in the kitchen in six hours." She walked down the hallway. "See you then."
"See you." Bulma said as she took one of the rooms. She smiled a bit. Maybe being a slave here wasn't going to be that bad after all.
