The Saiyan Saga - Part 3 - The Battle for the Crystal and the Earth


Me and my parents headed for the center of town as fast as we could.Once we got there the
black clouds were expanding and getting darker.A few people had stopped to look up at them
to see what was happening.

Ryoko:Hi Dave,bad weather all of a sudden huh?

Me:Ryoko?You should go home.Just trust me on this.

Ryoko:Why?It's just gonna be a little rain.

Me:you dont understand it's....

Ryoko:Hey look at that!

I looked up at what Ryoko was pointing at.The other people around where pointing and looking
too.A small gap was forming in the center of the cloud.A bright light was coming from the
gap too.

Voice:HAHAHAHA!Nothing can stop me getting the crystal this time!

Me:No,that voice.It can't be him.

The same man from months ago appeared out of the clouds and floated down to the ground.

Ryoko:What's happening David?I'm scared.

Me:Stay back Ryoko.

Man:So,the Saiyan boy again.

Ryoko:S-S-Saiyan.What's he talking about David?

Man:Quiet girl!

Ryoko moved back quickly getting out of the way.

Me:Leave her alone,she doesn't have any idea what's going on here,nobody does!Just who are
you anyway?

Man:My name is Tao,and I want that crystal.

Me:I don't know what crystal your talking about but your not getting it.

Tao:And just who is going to stop me?

Me:I am!

Tao:You?You're just a boy.

Me:And I could still kick your slimy ass!

The evil grin on Tao's face changed to one of anger.

Tao:I'll soon teach you some manners boy.

Tao began glowing in a red energy and flew straight at me.Keeping the secret of what I was
didn't enter into my mind and I just flew up into the air out of the way.I stopped about 50
feet up and turned around just in time to get a punch to the stomach forcing me back to the
ground.I got up and flew back at him as fast as I could.I almost managed to place a punch
into his head but he moved out of the way and kicked me in the back.I decided to take
advantage of the thunder clouds above me.

Me:Lightning Strike!

A bolt of lightning struck from the clouds into my hand,I threw the lightning bolt at Tao
who only got pushed back a little.

Me:But how?You were nowhere near this strong before!

Tao:Like yourself I have been training and becoming stronger.I have been training in far
worse conditions and far higher gravity.That is how I am stronger than you.

Me:Yeah?Well that doesn't matter because I'm not giving up!

I lunged at Tao and caught him by surprise.I managed to kick him in the stomach before
punching him upwards into the air.But he used the momentum to hit me in the side and
threw me back to the ground.

Tao:Now hand over the crystal and I'll spare your lives.

Dad:You'll never get the crystal!

Me:Yeah!So you can just leave now!

Tao:Well then,If I can't have the crystal then no-one can.I'll just destroy this planet and
the crystal with it.

Me:WHAT?!?!

Tao began glowing in a red energy.

Tao:Prepare to die!Destruction Beam!

Tao shot a red energy beam directly at me.I knew I had to stop it somehow.I began glowing
in a blue energy fuelled by my anger.

Me:Kamehameha!

I shot my own energy beam at his.They met about 25 feet up and practically exploded.A strong
wind came from where the beams met pushing some people over and blowing out windows.

Tao:You're strong kid but not strong enough!

Tao sent a burst of energy down his beam making it stronger.

Me:I wont give up.There's no way you're going to destroy this planet or the people living on
it.

I yelled in rage and intensified my own energy beam.The point where the beams collided
exploded again and people were screaming running for their lives.After a few seconds only
my Mom,Dad and Ryoko were left watching.

Me:Ryoko!Get out of here!

Ryoko:NO!I wont leave you!

Me:You have to go!

Ryoko:No I wont!Because,because,David I love you!

Me:What?

Ryoko:I love you David and I wont leave you,now beat that jerk!

Those words had given me a new strength.I screamed in rage and my energy beam became twice
as thick.Once it collided with Tao's energy beam his was pushed back.

Tao:Impossible!

Tao tried to make his energy beam stronger but it was no match for my Kamehameha wave.Once
it hit Tao the energy exploded and he fell from the sky creating a large crater when he landed.

Tao:That's impossible.How could he be so strong?

Me:Leave this planet NOW!If you come back again I wont be so merciful.

Tao:Very well.I will leave,but one day I will be stronger and get that crystal.

Me:That's what you think,now leave and never come back.

Tao floated into the air and back into the gap in the black clouds.The gap closed up and
the clouds dissappeared.I fell to the ground from exhaustion.My parents and Ryoko rushed
over to help me.Ryoko seemed to be crying.

Ryoko:David are you alright?

Me:I'm ok.Did you really mean what you said?

Ryoko:Yes,I really do love you.

Me:ryoko.

I went to pull Ryoko closer to me but before I could I collapsed.

Ryoko:David!

Mom:He's alright,he just needs to rest.

Dad:Here,I'll carry him home.

My Dad picked me up and got ready to take off when he heard sirens approaching.

Dad:Sounds like we better hurry.

Mom:Ryoko,I'll carry you too.

Ryoko:Alright.

Ryoko climbed onto my Mom's back and she and my Dad took off.They headed straight for my house.


When I woke up I was in my room.I tried to move and felt a sharp pain.I looked at myself
and saw I was covered in bandages and bruises.

Me:I remember now.That was a really tough battle.I dont want to go through that again any
time soon.

I slowly climbed out of bed and made my way downstairs.I heard voices and the sound of
someone crying.It sounded like Ryoko.I walked into the room still moving slowly so I didn't
aggrovate my wounds.

Me:Ryoko?

Ryoko looked up with tears still in her eyes.

Ryoko:DAVID!

She ran over and hugged me.I winced in pain but took it for her.

Ryoko:I'm so happy you're alright,I love you so much.

Me:Ryoko,I love you too.

Ryoko began crying again,this time from happiness,I could tell.I pulled her closer forgetting
about my wounds.I lifted her chin up and looked at her delicate face and perfect smile,then
I slowly brought my lips to hers and kissed her.

Mom: *sniffle* My little boy's all grown up.

Ryoko and me slowly pulled away and remembered where we were and who was watching.We both
blushed furiously.

Mom:Oh I'm sorry,it's just you're growing up so fast.

Dad:Aside from that you should be in bed son.You had a rough time today.

Me:I know.

Mom:Besides,this will only make you stronger.

Me:Huh?

Dad:When a Saiyan recovers from injury he becomes stronger.The worse the injury the stronger
you become when you recover.

Ryoko:I'm still a bit confused.

Mom:Well...

Me:Wait,I'll tell her.I'll tell her everything.Could we be alone for a little bit?

Dad:Sure.

My Mom and Dad left the room and shut the door.I slowly sat down and Ryoko sat down next to
me.

Me:It all started a few months ago.I found out that,that...

Ryoko:Found out what?You can tell me David,you can tell me anything.

Me:I found out that I'm not human,but a Saiyan.

Ryoko:A,Saiyan?

Me:Basically I'm an alien.One of the last of my kind.As far as we know me and my parents
are the last of our kind.

Ryoko:Oh David,it must be awful for you to be the last desendant of a race.

Me:I know but I'm not finished yet.A few months before I met you this strange man turned up
and demanded something called the Saiyan crystal.

I went on to explain everything I knew to Ryoko,she sat and seemed to take it all in.

Me:So you dont think any different of me?

Ryoko:Of course not.I love you for who you are.It doesn't matter to me if you're not
human.

Me:Thank you Ryoko.

Ryoko:But just what is this Saiyan crystal?

Me:I dont know myself.But I think my parents do.I should ask them.Mom,Dad,could you come here?

My Mom and Dad walked back into the room and sat down.

Dad:So you want to know about the Saiyan crystal huh?

Me:I knew you were listening in on us.

Mom:Sorry,we couldn't help it.

Me:Never mind.About this crystal.

Dad:Yes.The Saiyan crystal is said to be as old as the universe itself.Saiyan history books
say that the crystal holds the most powerful energy in the universe and that only
certain Saiyans can harness and control that power.

Me:And you know where the crystal is?

Mom:Sort of.

Dad:As far as we know it's still in the debris field left over from the destruction of our
planet.

Me:Incredible.

Mom:Enough story telling.Get back to bed.You need rest.

Me:Alright.

I slowly got up.Ryoko helped me back to my room and into bed.I heard her leave just before I
went to sleep.


A few weeks later my wounds were all healed and Ryoko and me were going steady.Another
weird guy came to the Earth expecting to enslave the human race but he was pretty weak and
I didn't have much trouble with him,especially not after I transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Although I could easily of beaten him without powering up,one of his blasts missed me and
hit extremely near Ryoko.As far as I could see she had been killed,this really ticked me
off and pushed me over the edge.Once he had been beaten into his basic molecules I found
that Ryoko had only been hurt and not killed.Of course my secret was out now aswell but it
wasn't so bad.I said I didn't want to be treated differently and wasn't that much.Apart from
the odd person coming up to me,shaking my hand and wanting an autograph I still had a pretty
normal life.Since there wasn't any school for about another month I spent most of my time
with Ryoko and training,attempting to master being a Super Saiyan.A few days before my first
day of college something appeared in the night sky while me and Ryoko were out on a date.

Ryoko:Hey look,a shooting star!Isn't it romantic?

Me:Yeah,but I'm not sure it is a shooting star.It seems to be getting closer to the surface.
I better check it out.I'll take you home first ok.

Ryoko:No way,I'm coming too.

Me:But I dont want you getting hurt.

Ryoko grabbed onto my arm and leaned on my shoulder.

Ryoko:I'll stay out of the way if something happens.Besides,my brave knight is here to
protect me.

Me:All right then,hold on tight.

I grabbed Ryoko and she held onto me tightly.I took off and flew in the direction I thought
the shooting star was going,it seemed to be heading for the hills.When I was nearly there
the shooting star vanished behind the hills outlines.I got there only to find out it was a
spaceship!
