Fan Fiction ❯ A Teen Titans Fanfiction...Teaser Trailer ❯ One-Shot

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Lay beside me, tell me what they've done
Speak the words I wanna hear, to make my demons run
The door is locked now, but it's open if you're true
If you can understand the me, than I can understand the you
Lay beside me, under wicked sky
Through black of day, dark of night, we share this pair of lives
The door cracks open, but there's no sun shining through
Black heart scarring darker still, but there's no sun shining through
No, there's no sun shining through
No, there's no sun shining

Fade in. A single white light in a dark room. A figure steps into the light. He is a young man, tall but thin, wearing worn black leather. He wears a long sword sheath on his back, the hilt of the sword peeking over his right shoulder. Long, lavender hair fall in uncombed clumps over a pale-skinned face. The person, apparently a human, looks into the darkness surrounding him, a faint smile playing across his features.

What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn the stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you
What I've felt, what I've known
Sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there, 'cause I'm the one who waits for you
Or are you unforgiven too?

The young warrior slowly drew the sword out of his holster. The long blade shimmered in the light. It appeared as if the sword was made of the finest metal, and coated in a thin layer of the clearest glass. The light reflected off the blade, shooting up towards the young man's face, attempting to break past the layer of hair, but to no avail.

Come lay beside me, this won't hurt I swear
She loves me not, she loves me still, but she'll never love again
She lay beside me, but she'll be there when I'm gone
Black heart scarring darker still, yes she'll be there when I'm gone
Yes, she'll be there when I'm gone
Dead sure she'll be there
What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn the stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you

The warrior raises his face from the sword as an image slowly appears in the air in front of him. It is a picture from another time, of a young woman, maybe fourteen to sixteen years of age. She has short lavender hair, wears a long blue cloak with a cowl, the cowl currently pulled back and resting on her shoulders.
The warrior raises his gauntleted hand to slowly, almost reverently stroke the image of the girl's face.

What I've felt, what I've known
Sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there, 'cause I'm the one who waits for you
Or are you unforgiven too?
Lay beside me, tell me what I've done
The door is closed, so are your eyes
But now I see the sun, now I see the sun
Yes now I see it

“My lost one…” the young man whispers, leaning ever closer to the image. “He is coming; that much you know. But he will defeat you; that much is unknown to you. I must help you, I WILL help you defeat him.”
The warrior's blue eyes sparkled, as if they would cry, but no tears leaked from his ducts. The image of the girl faded away into the darkness, leaving the young man along once again in the solitary white light.

What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn the stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you
What I've felt, what I've known
So sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there, 'cause I'm the one who waits,
The one who waits for you

Reaching his left hand over his shoulder, the warrior stroked the hilt of the sword on his back. “The Harbinger has not tasted blood for far too long. But it has two guaranteed meals fast approaching. One is the red demon, and the other…is me.”
An insane giggle ripped itself from the young man's throat, as his eyes briefly glowed crimson, before returning to their aqua form.

Oh what I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn the stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you (So I dub thee unforgiven)
Oh, what I've felt
Oh, what I've known

“Soon my dear Raven, you must make an important choice.” The warrior whispered, peering deep into the darkness surrounding him. “And your old friend Nathan The Blade will assist you in whatever course you choose.”
The while light above the young man's head blinked out, casting the room back into total darkness.
And out of the darkness, a voice whispered, “Happy Birthday, my tender one, I will see you soon…”

I take this key (never free)
And I bury it (never me) in you
Because you're unforgiven too
Never free
Never me
'Cause you're unforgiven too
Oh
