Golden Sun: A New Saga
Chapter 8
Our heroes had headed out of the Sylpherian forest with the Mystic Herbs in
order to cure Mia's
illness. But what else lies in wait?......
Piers headed back to the town. "Well, now that we have the Mystic Herbs,
let's take it to the
doctor," he said. Suddenly......
"Aah! What was that!?" Jenna had felt a tremor in the earth. "I don't know,"
Felix said.
Then......
"Aaaaaaaah! An earthquake!" Sheba yelled. "We'd better hurry!" Garet said.
They ran into the
clinic......
Piers ran to the doctor. "We have the Mystic Herbs," he said. "Good," said
the doctor. "Now
please give them to me." Piers reached into his pocket, but....."It's gone!"
"Huh?" Sheba asked.
"I must have dropped them....Let's go look for them." As they headed
out.....
"It's strange," Piers said. "I can't find them!" "Looking for something?" a
man in a black cape
asked. Piers looked up and saw the man holding the herbs. "Hey! Those are
mine! Give them back!"
"Hahahahahahaha......"
The man took his cape off.
"SATUROS!" the seven Adepts gasped.
"Surprised? Thought I was dead all this time?" Piers yelled, "I need those
herbs to cure Mia!
Now GIVE THEM BACK DARN IT!" "Hahahaha.....foolish Lemurian. Do not think
you will get them
back." "Huh?" "The little girl needs more than the herbs to be healed. She
needs to open her
eyes to her destiny....to Alex!" "But how?" "Hahahaha....farewell,
fools...." He had summoned
a demon. After they had defeated it, the earthquake had strengthened.
"Argh....Saturos took
the herbs with him!" Piers said angrily. "But we must get Mia out of
here......" Jenna said.
They rushed to the clinic. Piers lifted Mia out of the bed, and carried her
on his back.
Just as they ran out, though.....
"Aah! The ground is starting to crumble and collapse!" Sheba yelled. "The
Holy Stream.....I
have read about this once...." Isaac said. "It is a stream blessed with
Alchemy's powers..."
"Then let's keep running!" The ground collapsed behind Piers, and he grabbed
on to the
edge, also making sure not to let Mia go. "You okay Piers?" Felix asked.
"I'm fine. We
must get out of here before this town collapses!" Piers helped himself and
the unconsious
Mia up, then continued to run. But then, the unthinkable happened.... The
ground the Adepts
were running across had collapsed.....
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Time seemed to freeze around Piers. He thought, I am sorry
Mia.....Isaac.....Felix.....everyone..
....I have failed you all......I have failed Lemuria.....and I have failed
the world......
They all fell into the stream.
As they sank, the symbol of Mercury appeared on Mia's forehead. A light had
flashed....and
Isaac, Garet, Ivan, Felix, Jenna, Sheba, and Piers were surrounded by
darkness.
"Where are we?" Ivan asked Isaac. "I don't know....."Isaac replied.
"Everyone." "What was
that?" Sheba asked. Suddenly Mia, or at least her spirit, appeared. "Listen.
Ever since
I was in that mysterious place, and I saw Alex, I had been spellbound. I
tried to break
through to you, but I had failed. And now, it is up to you to bring me
back." "But how?"
Piers asked. Mia's spirit replied, "You must head to the Anemos Fortress."
"The Anemos
Fortress?" Ivan asked. "Yes," Mia's spirit replied. "There you will find the
way to set
me free....and Alex as well. Then, a new quest shall begin for us all. Good
luck...."
Mia's spirit had vanished, and the darkness shrouding the others was
gone......
"Wake up!"
"Hu....huh?"
Piers had opened his eyes to find himself, and the others, on land, near the
town's entrance.
A man asked, "Are you all right?" "Yes, I'm fine," Piers replied.
"I thought all of you drowned and had floated to the surface."
"Oh.....where's Mia?"
"You mean the blue haired girl? She's fine. I had put her aboard my
airship."
"Good. You wouldn't mind if we came aboard?"
"Sure. Where to?"
"To Anemos Fortress."
"Sure, why not? Oh and my name is Mid. Nice to meet you all."
They all headed aboard the airship, and set off for Anemos Sanctum. Will
Mia's prophecy come
true? Is there anything else waiting for them?
