Golden Sun: A New Saga
Chapter 7
On a quest to save Mia, the other seven Adepts had set out for the
Sylpherian Forest. When they
had finally got there, there were three paths. "Okay...."said Jenna. "Let's
go find the Mystic
Herbs and cure Mia." "Not so fast," Piers said. "Hmm.....I'm not sure...I
sense some force
lurks in this forest...it is said that, ever since a huge number of the
herbs had been pillaged
by thieves, the Sylphs now use their magic to baffle travellers. A mere
adventurer could be lost
here forever....it's best to split up. Isaac, Garet, and Jenna, you three
take the first path.
Sheba and Ivan, you two take the second path. Felix and I will take the
third path."
And then they set off.
[ Isaac, Jenna, and Garet's path ]
The three adepts were walking through the forest, confused, yet bedazzled.
"Strange...."
Jenna muttered. "Piers said that travelers can get lost here forever, yet
not a thing has
happened to us." "At least not yet......." Isaac said. Suddenly, the ground
seemed to crumble
beneath Jenna's feet. It then fell, leaving a gap. Jenna was falling.
"Aaaaaah! Help!" "Jenna!"
Isaac yelled, immediately jumping after her. Garet jumped in as well.
Soon, they had found themselves on the forest grounds, but there was a river
with stepping
stones now. The three got up. "Agh....thought I was a goner," Jenna said.
"So now how are we
to get out of this maze?!" Garet exclaimed. "I don't know. Wait. Maybe we
can jump across the
river...." Isaac said. Isaac and Garet jumped across safely, but Jenna was
not so fortunate.
Just as Jenna was near the other side, she slipped off a stone and fell into
the river.
"JENNA!!!!!" Issac and Garet screamed. Jenna surfaced, but was being pulled
downward by the
current. "Help!!" "We've got to save her!" exclaimed Garet. Suddenly Isaac
spotted a vine
hanging from a tree branch. He took it and ran to the river. "Jenna! Catch!"
Jenna grabbed
the vine. "Garet! Lend me a hand!" Garet grabbed the vine as well. "On
3.........3!" But
the did not pull hard enough. "3!" Eventually, they had pulled Jenna to
safety. "Well, we're
okay now...." Jenna said. Suddenly the ground starded to shake. "I think you
spoke too soon,
Jenna!" Garet cried. Suddenly a dragon emerged from the river. The three
took up their weapons
and prepared to fight....
[ Sheba and Ivan's path ]
"Wow...." muttered Sheba. "It feels like we have been walking through this
forest for days."
"I know," Ivan replied. "We have to find a way, though. For Mia." "Right,"
Sheba replied.
But soon, as they walked through the forest......
"AGH!!!!!!!!!!"
"Sheba!!!!!!!!!!"
Sheba was caught by a mass of vines. "Sheba!" "Ivan, help!" Ivan took out
his Kikuichimonji
and immediately, it had unleashed Asura, and in a single blow, Sheba was
freed from the vines.
"You okay Sheba?" Ivan asked. Sheba stammered, "Y-yes. I'm fine..." Suddenly
a strange sound
was heard. "What was that?" asked Sheba. "I don't know......" said Ivan.
Suddenly, something
emerged from the shadows, and what it was made Sheba and Ivan very
terrified.
[ Felix and Piers's Path ]
"I wonder if the legend of people wandering through this forest being lost
forever is true?"
said Piers. "Who knows?" Felix replied. Suddenly, Piers came across
something. "A treasure
chest?" "What about treasure chests?" Felix asked. "I don't know..this has
the symbol of
a Sylph on it...." Felix tried to open it, but failed. "Wait...."Piers said.
"I think we
need a key." Suddenly Felix found a strange object partially buried into the
ground. "I found
something! But I can't take it out by hand. SCOOP!!" The key fell out of the
clod of dirt.
Felix picked it up and unlocked the chest. An orb was inside. "What is
this?" Felix asked.
"The Fairy Orb," Piers replied. "It is said to break the dimensional
distortion here."
An altar stood in the distance. Piers said, "You have to place the Fairy Orb
on the altar."
Felix placed the orb on the altar. Suddenly, a green light shined through
the forest....
Ivan and Sheba were fighting a tree-like monster. Just as Ivan delivered the
final blow,
the light shone through their path as the monster was vanquished. "I can
sense the way out,"
said Ivan. "Let's go..." And as Isaac, Jenna, and Garet had finished the
dragon off,
they too had found the way out of the maze.
As soon as they headed there, there was someone they least expected.
"Agatio!" Felix exclaimed.
"Haha ha. It's me again." "What did you do to Mia!?" Piers exclaimed. "I
didn't do a thing,"
Agatio said. "The poor young lady brought it all on to herself...." "What do
you mean?" Jenna
asked. "She can't stop thinking of Alex," Agatio replied. "She was
spellbound, and she will
remain that way forever, never recognizing any of you again!" "Not if we can
help it!" Isaac
pulled out his sword. "Tut! You don't think fighting me will bring her back,
would you?
You need the Mystic Herbs, right? Well, see if you can get through THIS!!!!"
He vanished,
and a beast appeared. It was very tough, but they all had defeated it.
Suddenly....
"Who are you?" Sheba asked.
A beautiful fairy queen had floated in mid-air. "I am the Queen of the
Sylphs, Shana.
We Sylphs had lived peacefully in the Sylpherian forest, until evil
invaded.....They had
wiped out a great number of our race and destroyed a massive amount of our
forest.
Since then, we had used our magical abilities to trap wanderers in our
forest. What
is your purpose of taking one of the Mystic Herbs?" "Well," said Felix, "our
friend, Mia,
is ill, and we need the herbs to heal her." "I see," said Shana. "And you
also wish on
pursuing the evil that once lurked in our forest?" "Precisely," Garet said.
"Very well,"
said Shana. "Take this." An herb appeared. "This is merely a small sprout,
but it can
cure more potentially than any other Herbs. Cure your comrade, and vanquish
the great evil...
Farewell, heroes..." She then vanished. Piers took the herb. "Well, we got
what we were looking
for....Now let's head back."
Our heroes leave the forest. Will they find a cure for Mia? Is there
something else in
store for them altogether?

Chapter 7
