Fan Fiction ❯ Vailla ❯ Chapter 11
The other demons were screaming and running away after their master had died, they were afraid but they will be back. Morge looked around in satisfaction, the threat was dead and Vailla was still alive to take control of the demons. The way things were going there would be no war. He looked at the other three humans, two of which ran over to Trigger while the big male human one was helping Vailla to her feet. Morge decided he would go and congratulate Vailla so she carelessly strode over to her. "Well done, he's dead. You destroyed the biggest pain in the backside in the world, even if it did take you ages." He mocked her with a bow but Vailla did not seemed to of noticed. Jads was almost caring her, she seemed unwilling to stand. Those tear things were streaming down her cheeks, her entire face was glistening. "Oh I get it, happy tears!" Jads looked and Morge and spat at him.
"I don't know what your kick is, but go and bother some one else. Vailla is grieving." Jads spoke quietly and dangerously. He also had tears.
"Fine then!" He was preparing to sulk when he saw the other two female humans gathering round the young male one. He was not moving and the two girls were also weeping. Silly humans.
Vailla could not see anything through her tears, but with Jads support she made it to Trigger's side. Laurie had cuddled into Galdine and she was rocking the child back and forth trying to comfort her. Vailla clutched hold of Trigger and with all her strength she lifted him onto her lap and began to stroke his thick sandy hair. She was aware of the blue glowing light that stood in front of them; she knew she was probably the only one who could see it. Her anger was like her flaming red hair. "So you have come for him." She spoke bitterly through her grief. It nodded. "I will not accept this! I have done everything for you; I have been beaten, stabbed, strangled and I have lost for you! Now you come to claim him? You come to take the only one I have truly loved away from me?" She screamed.
"Yes." It was a woman' voice, soft but at the same time cold and uncaring. Vailla looked at her, the hair from her head fell and covered most of her face. Her skin was place blue and glittering like stars, the hair was white and silken.
"Take me in his place… Please. You wanted to bring in a new generation of sorceresses into this world. Take me in his place and you would of taken away the old and left room for the new. Please, take me in his place." Vailla begged, the tears clouding more than her vision. The others would probably think her mad with grief, but it didn't matter.
"You understand what this means?" It asked, Vailla just nodded. "Very well, you make a valid point Vailla. You shall be rewarded for the deeds you have done, but that is in due time of course. I will spare his life, but you do have to come with me."
"Can I say goodbye? To Trigger I mean." Vailla was happy beyond belief that she was able to save Trigger but the thought that she will not see everyone again saddened her. It nodded.
Trigger stirred, blinked. Vailla was looking at him, she had been crying. He moved his arm and placed a hand on his head. "Is it over?" He groaned. Her face was covered in bruises and blood mingled with her tears.
"Yes." Vailla replied simply.
"Trigger!" Laurie basically jumped on her brother but before he could catch his breath and say something he found himself in an ocean of hugs. Finally they settled down a little and he was able to breathe again.
"Its over then? Your father is dead? What about the other demons?" Trigger asked Vailla.
"I can not take command of the demons, Laurie can do it. She is strong enough and my Staff will take her through it if she needs the help. Don't worry, Laurie is quite safe, someone told me so." Vailla sounded regretful, afraid. It made him wonder what was going on, but he knew he would probably find out soon enough. "I gotta go, the glowing annoyance is getting restless."
"Go? Go where?" Galdine asked. Vailla smiled at her and held out her hand.
"It's been fun. I'm sorry for all the trouble I have caused for you all. Galdine I hope you and Jads finally get your feelings sorted, I've seen the way you look at each other. It's annoying" She managed a small laugh and turned to Laurie and Trigger. "Be happy you guys. Laurie I know you can do this little task, don't worry you can't fail. Look after Hayley too."
"What do you mean lass? Where are you going?" Jads asked.
"I'm going to go with her." She turned to the person that no one could see and nodded. "Morge, you know what is going on here because we're joined." She sighed at looked at the others, this was so hard! She sobbed and jumped onto Trigger giving him the biggest kiss of her life and clung to him tightly. Trigger clung to her too, not knowing why but he clung to her as if to stop her from being taken away. "They owe me for this one." She mumbled bitterly, she wasn't sure if Trigger had heard, but it didn't matter. She closed her eyes and let it take her.
Trigger's heart stopped when Vailla's embrace had gone limp, he was too afraid to even loosen his grip to check if she was all right. He felt the others watching him; he knew they saw him clinging onto Vailla like his last hope. He closed his eyes and began to pray that Vailla was just asleep, after all she had had a tiring fight, but he knew deep within him that she was not sleeping. He felt a cold scaly hand on his shoulder. "Let her go human, there is something that must be done and it can't be done with you clinging to her." It was Morge and though his voice was unemotional, in a strange why he sounded almost as if he cared. Trigger looked at him and gently lowered Vailla onto the floor; her battered face was peaceful. Galdine had knelt beside him with Laurie and the cuddled in to him. Jads was standing beside them and was crying he too knew what was wrong with Vailla. Suddenly in a burst of light her corpse exploded into thousands of tiny stars that danced around the room. The song that Vailla had played in the inn was singing gleefully, once a sad song was now a joyous melody. The sound of the flute playing was enough to warm anyone's heart and for a moment they forgot their grief. "Good luck guys. Be happy, after all this tune is a happy tune." Vailla laughed. Her laughter faded into the music and the music faded into air. The dancing stars fell like white dust, as it fell it seemed to wash away the illusion of the church. The dead flowers on the alter blossomed, the horrid smell replaced with a sweet scent. Golden and white walls replaced the thick tattered red draped and dirtied walls. The marble floors sparkled with polished pride. It was as if the angels themselves came down and blessed the building.
Laurie picked up Vailla's staff who seemed to glow with it's own blue-formed grief. The touch of her hand seemed to remind the Staff what still needed to be done so she harden her heart and accepted what Laurie had asked with one single touch. "Lets enslave some demon butt." Laurie laughed, she sounded so much like Vailla in that split second. Laurie started to speak the language she had spoken many times before and almost as it they were being called, the demons that were enslaved by Vailla's father surrounded her, snarling and viciously pounding the floor. Laurie just looked at them and with one word "Ratencc!" She sent them back to the Abyss. They screamed awful screams as the fires of hell covered and swallowed them up and after they were gone the fire were extinguished by sparkling silver water drops. Laurie then ran over to Trigger and wrapped her arms round him.
