A trickle of blood leaked down to a brown she-cat’s chin. “Who is there? Why do you threaten me?” she hissed staggering silently as she backed away from two large amber eyes staring at her from a pile of herbs. “You know too much and for that you know what I must do.” it snapped back flicking and rattling restlessly.
The brown warrior twitched her whiskers. Her heart felt like it was about to erupt. She saw a small tawny kit in the entrance of the den, his feet struggling to stay firm and still.
Darkness in the enemy’s eyes made him flick his ears unrepentantly. “Leave now you pathetic little worthless kit!” he growled stomping his paw. The small kit squealed and mewed terrified out of the den.
“Goodbye Spottedfern!” snarled the tom lounging at her that instant. All she saw as he landed on her was his dark amber eyes and black nose. Then her breathing was cut off and all was silent.
