Summary: 4 years after ff8, Seifer, now an instructor, is taking a student out for his SeeD test to obtain Ifrit and runs across an unconscious SeeD. Who is she? And why does she push everyone away? Seifer is determined to find out………

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Girl

Seifer sighed as he walked out of Balamb Garden, along with a 17-year-old student of his, Maximilian Zidane. (I know. He's not related.) (Or is he?………) 4 years after the Sorceress War he had reenlisted into Balamb and become a SeeD Instructor. His return had not been exciting; he was held under surveillance for 2 years before he was trusted. Squall had married Rinoa and they were currently working with the SeeD in Deling. Gardens had sprung up all over the globe since the War had ended. Irvine had finally married Selphie and they worked in Trabia garden, Irvine as a SeeD and Selphie as an Instructor. Only Quistis and Zell had remained in Balamb. They were also the only ones besides Rajin and Fujin who had befriended him. Quistis had remained as SeeD and shockingly enough; Zell was now commander of Balamb. (Ah the sky is falling!!) Zell had married a girl he met a year ago, Zane Etherwind, a fellow fist fighter and just as insane as Zell.

The SeeD test was in two weeks, so Seifer had to get his remaining students past the Fire Cavern so he could rank them either fir to go or to take another semester.

"Allright. You have your GF, right?" Seifer asked Max.

"Uh………Yeah! I got Shiva and Quetzacotl!" Max smiled brightly.

"Allright. You've junctioned magic also?"

"Yep!"

"Then lets go," Seifer said, heading towards the fire cavern. He didn't need a GF. He had Tiamat. Though he'd just be attacking with Hyperion, he guessed.

Max summoned Shiva for the last time and Ifrit slumped. "Argh………beaten by a human………" he said in his gruff voice. "Very well. I will join you."

"YAHOO!" Max yelled. Seifer rolled his eyes; the damn gf said that everytime. And wasn't that Zell's line………?

"Ok, you've got your GF. Now I have to tell you how to use the Elemental Junction Attack," Seifer stopped. "You read this didn't you?"

"Yes."

"If I explain it will you listen or just think about something else?"

"Something else."

"Then lets get out of here," Seifer growled, and headed back towards the entrance. Max ran after him. They were halfway there until………

"Sephiroth-AHH! Damn!" a female voice rang out.

`Another weak cadet,' Seifer groaned and ran towards the voice, max flustered but following him.

When they got there, a tall, maybe 20 years old, female girl with short brown hair and blonde bangs, wearing a black tank top, faded black jeans and combat boots, was being attacked by mysterious monsters. They were like lizards with sharp legs and long tails, and they were purplish in color. Maybe 5 in all. The girl held a black handled scythe with a ruby red blade, and was summoning a mysterious GF………

The gf was human looking, with long silver blue hair and dark red eyes. It was wearing a mysterious silver and gray armored trench coat and black jeans and was using a long samurai sword to hack away at the lizard things. It also sported a black wing on its left side. However its strength seemed to be kept up by its summoner, and she was losing strength, it seemed. She was now leaning weakly on her scythe.

"OK………Come now Tiamat!" Seifer called out (someone tell me what Tiamat looks like) and the GF came and destroyed its enemies with its infinite power.

The girl slipped away to unconsciousness, and the GF faded away………

Whoda thunk it? Sephiroth as a gf! Wow!

Odd little tidbit: In some old Christian texts, a mysterious artifact called the tree of life is supposed to be the path of divinity. It has 10.5 spheres called sephiroths to guide you.
