“Hey…” Ed murmured, snuggling down into Roy. They lay in bed, comfortably cuddled in the morning light.
“Mmm?” Roy mumbled sleepily.
”Can I ask you a question?”
The half-asleep man shrugged. “Sure.”
“…” Ed frowned and buried his head into Roy's chest. “What would you do…if…”
”If?”
”If I die.”
Roy's eyes opened and he stared at Ed in silence for a moment. “Why?”
”What, Why ask?”
”Mm-mm,” Roy hugged Ed tighter. “Why would you die?”
“Well…it's dangerous being a State Alchemist, and…I could die. What would you do?”
“I…” Roy pondered that. “I'd be inconsolable.” Ed froze at Roy's bluntness. “If you died, I would cry for a long time, and I'd never get over you.”
”Roy…”
”Do you want that?”
“No! Not at all!”
”Then don't die.”
