Chapter Four: Dango and illness, enter Wrath

"Oh, c'mon, please?!" I whined. He narrowed his eyes at me, mumbling 'no'. "Edwaaaarrrrd!!!!" I gripped onto his arm like a child, he tried shking me off, but I only held tighter, "PLEEEEAAAAAASSSSE?!?!?!" I cried. He stopped his movements and sighed in exaspetration.

"Fine...I'll take you to the cake shop." I squealed with delight and wrapped my arms around his neck; I was going to have to act innocent and girly for this mission. I could already tell I was starting to get to his head; hopefully I didn't end up stuck this way. He sighed again, his lightly tanned cheeks tinting a redish color.

~~~~~~
Believe it, or not, I really am a big fan of cakes and sweets; so this just happened to work out that sweets are possibly the girliest thing you can eat or cutest thing you can give someone as a gift. I giggled as we walked down the street, Ed just kept staring at me, but he wasn't the only one I could feel watching me; and I knew it wasn't the townspeople. I ran to be next to Ed's side-I had been about a foot ahead of him before-when the cake shop came in view. I gave a cute smile, a giggle to come with it; he looked at me from the corner of his eye.
"You really like sweets, huh?" I nodded and he opened the door, the bell dinging above our heads. I saw the sugared confections in the case and instantly starting looking at what I should get. Ed came down by me, "How much am I going to have to pay?" I looked at him like I hadn't understood what he just said.
"Are you crazy? You won't have to pay a cent. What do you want?" he looked at me like I had grown a third eye, I waved him off; "I'm not goin' to steal anything. I'll just get it for free, watch." I stood up and the cake-store owner looked at me with a blush on his face. I put a finger to my lip cutely, and I gave the cutest, most innocent looks I could. "Hmmm...well, I want that one..but it's too much money." I sighed, as if in defeat; "What am I going to do?" the owner spoke up;
"Well, why don't you take as much as you want? You won't have to pay a cent; those are easy to make, so it won't be hard to make more." I giggled with a big smile;
"Oh, really? Haha, thanks so much!" he loaded a bunch into a box and handed it to me. I put my hand on the small of Ed's back and shoved him out through the door and outside. I opened the pink and white box, pulling out a dango, popping it into my mouth happily. I held out the box to Ed, he took one out and looked at it. I swallowed so I could talk to him; "Never had dango, Edo-chan?" he glared at me.
"Don't call me 'Edo' and don't call me 'chan'. And no, I've never had one of these." he looked at it awhile longer and I took it from him and ordered for him to open his mouth; he did so and I put it in. He chewed and swallowed; "Wow...that's really good." I smiled brightly.
"See? Glad you took me now?" he nodded and we started heading back to HQ he took another dango and so did I. I glanced at him about half-way there and stopped our walk. He stood in front of me, confused about my big smile. "One second." I put my flesh hand on the back of his neck and pulled him toward my face. When he was close enough, I licked a spot near his mouth. He pulled away and looked at me confused and blushing madly at the contact. "You had some dango on your mouth, just thought I'd get it off for you." An old couple had passed us, I heard them whispering;
"Such a cute young couple...sharing dango and cleaning each other's faces. I remember when we were like that."
"Yes, of course. Hohohoho." I smiled at Ed as if I hadn't heard them, because his face just kept getting redder and redder. I suddenly remembered something then;
"Um, hey, Edo-chan?" he ignored the name this time;
"What?"
"Have you seen Amy-chan at all today after we put our things in our room?" he shook his head, worry came across my features.
"I'm sure she'll be fine, c'mon. Let's go back." I nodded and looked behind me at an old inn that was by the cake shop;
I can't help, but worry about her...she's never been to Central. Please be safe, Amy-chan.
~*~Amy~*~
-3rd Person-
Truth be told, Amy was scared out of her mind right now, she felt like she was being hunted at the moment. She had been forced back into the dark closet, the boy practically on top of her. He was straddling her hips, holding her hands down at her sides with his own mis-matched hands.
What am I supposed to do? she thought, frightened, What's going on?! She squeaked when a snaked it's way under the skirt of her dress. She felt her face go red with embarrassment, lips found their way to her neck; nipping lightly at her jugular vein. Amy was about to scream when the door to the inn burst open loudly.
"AMY?! ARE YOU IN HERE?!" Amy looked up, with a smile at the voice, the boy turned and growled;
~*~5 minutes earlier~*~
"Yukiko, where are you going?!" Ed hurredily followed after the pissed alchemist. They were back outside by the fountain in front of the HQ, he ran forward and grabbed her arm when it swung back. He pulled her back into his chest, forcering her to hold still by pinning her body against his. "What are you doing?!" he yelled. She turned her head a bit to look at him;
"Amy...Amy isn't safe right now!" she screamed, breaking free of his grasp, running back towards the inn she had saw earlier. "Dammit...I knew I should have checked there when I felt that prescence around!" she mumbled, she looked behind her when she heard Ed call her name. "SHUT-UP, ED!!!"
"Look out!" he called, she stuck her tongue out at him and turned forward finding herself about to collide with someone's back. She screeched to a halt, barely bumping the taller boy.
"Gah?! What're you doing just standing there, you idiot!?" she yelled at him, he looked back at her with a growl, but noticed Ed first.
"Ed?" the blonde came up next to Yukiko.
"Russell? Fletcher?" he asked, inquiring to a smaller boy wearing green. Yukiko looked between the three blondes, they started talking and she twitched. Then after about two minutes she yelled;
"QIUET!!!! OR MOVE!!! I HAVE A FRIEND IN DANGER HERE!!!!!" they looked at her and Ed gasped,
"That's right! Amy!" Russell seemed interested at the name.
"Ed...what's her last name?" Ed shrugged and Yukiko cut in;
"Trigham, why's it matter?" Russell twitched, "Huh? Yo, you okay?" she waved a hand in front of his blue eyes, he flipped.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN AMY IS IN DANGER!!!!?!?!?!?!??" Yukiko uncovered her ears and looked at him,
"You know Amy?" Fletcher tugged at her sleeve with a worried face;
"She's our cousin." and they were off to the inn. They got up to it and Ed looked over at Yukiko,
"You're sure she's in there?" Yukiko nodded,
"I don't know what it is...but there is a prescnece about her, like...a virtues...but theres a sin with her." she growled. That was enough for Russell, he slamed the door open.
"AMY?! ARE YOU IN HERE?!" off to the side and to the back a bit there was an opened closet door, they saw Amy push her self up, she had a dishevled appearence. There was a lowly emitted growl from below her;
"Russell!" she called happily. Yukiko's eyes narrowed, taking a small step forward, she put a hand on Russell's chest to prevent him from moving.
"What're you--"
"Shhh..." Her eyes darted off to the left and she pushed the tall blonde to the side, tackling a boy with long black hair to the ground. "Ha! Gotcha! Russell, go help Amy now." she turned to the side to look at the blondes, but that resulted in a kick to the stomach. She grabbed her stomach in pain, doubling over, the boy stood and dodged an alchemic spikes attack from Ed.
"Wrath, you little bastard get back here!" Ed yelled chasing the boy out of the inn. Fletcher went to help his brother and cousin, Amy smiled gratefully at them, but moved the two boys out of the way to go to Yukiko who had pushed herself up, finally.
"Ouch...that little...that hurt..." she grumbled, rubbing her stomach in pain.
"Y-Yukiko-san.." Amy whispered softly. Yukiko looked at her alarmed.
"Amy! Who the hell is that and WHY was he on top of you??" she demanded. Amy shook at the voice.
"I-I don't know.." she whispered, tearing up. Yukiko sighed. Russell gently fixed Amy back up, smoothing her hair and whatnot, Amy blushing the whole time. Suddenly, a crash outside got everyone's attention. They all ran to the window, only to see Wrath and Ed both fighting with transmuted spears. Finally, Ed got Wrath pinned.
"Answer me!! Why were you on her like that!?" the blonde yelled. Wrath simply gave him a smug look.
"I won the game, so I deserved a prize." he said in a calm tone, no matter how disturbing it was. He continued with that same smug look, slowly nearing his hands to the ground; Yukiko's eyes widened. She ignored her stomach and concentrated on the blonde alchemist, she flinched in pain as she started towards them. Her vision went hazy and she felt the distinct and strange feeling of a transmutation circle activating. She fell forward, being caught in Russell's arms; her breathing was slow and heavy.
"Ed...ward..." was all the girl got out of her throat before everything was gone. Russell looked at her, Amy came up behind him;
"Russell...what-"
"She passed out...she'll be fine..."
~~~~~~~
-1st person-

Why is it that everytime I pass out I feel warm when I wake up? Oh, whatever...because I did then too. I opened my eyes slowly, looking at white sheets over my body. I sat up, flinching at a stinging pain where that boy had kicked me. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and looked around the room-I recognized to be as Amy's and my room. It was dark in the room, it was-I guessed-to be nighttime, I could hear the soft and light breathing of Amy in the next bed. I couldn't see her though, there wasn't any moonlight,

"New moon." I jumped at the whisper, I looked at the bed; I could just barely make out the dark line of Amy's shadow sitting up.

"Oh...Amy...did I wake you up?"

"No...h-how are you feeling?"

"My stomach hurts like mad, and I have a weird taste in my mouth." she giggled,

"That's because of the medicine Russell gave you, I used to get that bad taste; now I'm really used to it." realization dawned on me. The reason she was so pale and fragile looking;

"You're sick aren't you?"

"Doomed to and early death, I'm afraid..." she sighed. I knew I shouldn't ask, but I couldn't stop myself from the curiousity.

"What happened?" I could practically feel her smile.

"There was an accident...my father and uncle had been working on how to create a red stone. My sister and I went to watch, even though Russell said we shouldn't, I always followed everything my big sister did." she laughed. I smiled gently, I remembered following Riza around everywhere when we were little. "But...the starnge fumes that the red stone gave off made a lot of people sick...Russell's dad went away and my father continued with his research. When sister and I went to watch there was an explosion of sorts." I looked away from the saddened voice, "This was the first time father had been home in a long time; it was after he went to see your family." I flinched, remembering how my father used to sit in his study, telling us how we would get sick if we went down there, "He died because of that...and my mother, sister and I got sick." Once again, I felt myself asking,

"Where are they now? Your mother and sister?" I feared the answer I knew that would come.

"Dead. I'm still sick though, and every alchemist and doctor has said that it's going to kill me soon too." I put my face in my hands; mumbling,

"Amy-chan...are you afraid of death?"

"No..." she said quietly.

"Do you believe your mother, father and sister were?" she was quiet for a while, then spoke;

"Yes..." I heard her start crying. Just like I had done when I realized that, that was the reason Kiyoshi had died instead of me.

Because we weren't afraid; Amy and I lost everything.
