Hidden Truth

/'In a small valley the wind blew harsh and the rain hailed. All that could be heard is the running of footsteps. A girl ran against the wind her blue hair flowing. Her heart racing as she glanced behind her. Her red eyes going wide as three figures appeared running after her. She quickened her pace, her heart straining itself. Her body was beginning to feel the conditions that were against her. Not watching her step she tripped. Her body hit the ground with a thump. She started to lose blood from a slash on her legs and head. She could not move. Suddenly the dark figures were above her reaching towards her, chocking her. Her mind went blank'/

Miki awoke in sudden sweat. Her blue hair flaring around her.

"Why, why now... I have not had that dream in years.... What is coming, is it a warning?" Miki asked herself.

Sliding off the bed she walk toward the window. Gently she rested her head against the glass. Her mind in a whirl, she tried to sort her thoughts. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted figures in her lawn. She blinked as they vanished. Chuckling she turned to get dressed.

"It seems as though I'll have company."

Slowly Miki slipped into a long black dress. Grabbing a pair of gold and silver ribbons she braided her long blue hair. Her hair swiped the ground as she walked down the stairs. She knew someone was outside she could sense it and they seemed to be good as Solaris, Star, nor Crescent hadn't made a noise. The young cheetah and the two wolves where curled up in a ball on the sofa. Leaning down Miki picked up the young cat. Solaris made a squeak as she was placed into her mistresses' arms. Walking through the living area her dress swayed with her body. It hugged her curves lightly. Placing her hand on the front door, she began to unlock the door swinging it open she saw nothing but slender bamboo groves and willows. However, she could still sense a presence, more than one. She hummed silently as she walked out the door. Stopping in front of the line of bamboo groves and willows, she closed her eyes, listening to the wind. Opening them partly she could fell people staring at her. Quickly she looked up catching one of the figures off guard as she stared at him.

"You know it isn't nice to follow someone or watch them either so will all of you please come down.... It is suppose to rain and I doubt you want to get wet. So you can come in the house the door is unlocked and I wont kill you." With that said Miki turned around and walked back inside the house.

Sitting down in a chair, she waited patiently for her guests. Thunder and a heavy rain could be heard beginning. Sighing she raised Solaris to face her.

"Do you think I should have done that? I mean I have been wrong before..........True its kind of stupid to ask that question now huh... no I did not know that.... and yes I know someone is right behind me I'm not stupid...why you take that back you flee ridden fur ball...your as bad as Ellena…oh just be quiet." Tilting her head back Miki stared at the group before her. Most of them were wet.

Sighing she stood up." I told you it was going to rain. Now wait here and let's see if I can find some towels."

Ignoring the stares they were giving her she walk into another room. Taking her time as she got the towels she listened to their conversation. She didn't get much of it though but she knew some of them where from a retrieval group called the get backers. Right before she entered the room, again she heard one of them.

"Why do you think she let us in? How did she know where we were? It's like she knew it was going to happen."

Miki could not help but smile before she entered the room.

"I did. I knew you were coming and where you would be because I have foresight. I'm a seer." Smiling she handed out the towels.

"See I know what I need to know. And your lucky if I hadn't seen it you'd most likely be dead."

One of the guys chuckled before saying. "Kill us, I doubt that."

Miki tilted her head slightly. "I'm sure your employer had to give you some information on me."

Most of the group looked a two of the people. While those two shook their heads.

Miki giggled. "I hope you not always this miss informed. So how about some introductions and why your here."

The introductions went quite fast as for the reason them being there did not come up. Miki stretched waiting for them to continue, but before anyone could say anything, the front door swung open. A girl with long back hair skipped into the house. Her blue and red school uniform was ruffled and she threw her school bag into a corner. She was muttering something about someone named Jess and had a strange smile. Ignoring everyone, she walked into another room. Miki raised an eyebrow as she stared toward the room where the girl had gone.

"Ell-Chan you know you have your own house."

Mumbling could be heard from the other room. Before Miki could ask, a sword was flying through the room. Her company dodged to get out of the way.

"Ellena I have company so try not to kill them."

More mumbling could be heard before Ellena stuck her head out the door.

"Gomen." She muttered, while blushing. She ducked back into the room.

Miki turned back to her company. A few of them where staring where the girl once stood. The others looked at the sword that was embedded into the wall.

"Ignore her, she'll be gone soon. Now back to my main question why you are here."

Ginji and Ban look at each other. Ban spoke up.

"You see the people that hired us pretty much asked us if we could hunt you down and turn you in."

Miki quickly frowned. "The Hanta group right. Ah I'm never going to be rid of them."

Suddenly Ellena walked into the room carrying a large sword she still had that strange smile. She walked past the group to the sword embedded into the wall. With a tug, she pulled it out and slung it onto her back.

"Ellena you can't kill Jess for what she did, you can severely hurt her but not kill her. Anyway, we have a problem. See those people they where sent by the Hanta group. So you can hurt her later for now I suggest you watch your back." The young girl nodded agreeing with Miki. "Now tonight you'll stay here so go pick a room."

Ellena disappeared skipping up the stairs. Miki watched her go up the stairs. Turning back to the group Miki's eye seemed to be glazed over. Blinking her eyes turned back to normal. Smiling slightly she sat down.

The group looked at her with unspoken questions.

"Why do they want you out of curiosity? "Kadsuki asked. Miki's glazed turned to him, before they dropped back to her shaking hands.

"I know things, things that they don't want out." Miki muttered hiding the truth.

"So they want to kill you?" Ginji asked. Miki shook her head.

"No it's hard to explain…." Miki trailed off as she heard Star mutter something. Her glaze turned to the albino wolf she noticed Shido's glaze was also at Star.

Slowly he spoke up. "What does she mean by headhunter and hells child?" Miki's glaze quickly turned back to the wolf. She sent the albino an unspoken message that made the wolf whimper before hiding behind a chair.

"There nicknames that they call us. I am the headhunter and Ell-Chan is hells child. There just stupid names they gave us."

"So what are we going to do? I don't think we can turn you in." Ban muttered.

Miki chuckled. "You don't have to worry about that." She looked up to the second floor.

"Their here." With that said, a sudden scream came from up stairs before Ellena came running down the stairs.

Lightening seemed to surround her body. Suddenly she tripped over Star, falling into Ginji's opened arms.

She quickly turned to face Miki ignoring the fact she was still in Ginji's arms. "You bitch; you knew this was going to happen. Why didn't you warn me sooner?"

"I didn't want them to know we knew. They do not know we have control of our powers. So behave."

With a crash, a group of armed men came through the front door and the room once occupied by Ellena.

Ellena, who was still in Ginji's arms happily flipped off the group up stairs, before sticking out her tongue. "I was sleeping you know. It's not nice to wake a girl during her beauty sleep."

One of the men stepped forward. "Where here of Ellena Rose and Mikazuba Yaoke. The rest of you have nothing to concern this and we thank you for your help. You shall be paid later, for now stay out of our way."

"Screw you." Ellena yelled her smile changing into a quirk.

"We have made a new decision and decline your earlier offer." Ban spoke up stepping forward. Ginji pulled Ellena behind him as Kadsuki stepped in front of Miki.

"Fine. This is better instead of killing you later we can kill you now. It's far more convenient." The same man spoke up.

" I doubt you'll fire those weapons with these girls here. Doesn't your boss want them alive?" Ban sneered.

"They'll live. Bullets will not kill these two, as for the rest of you your good as dead. Beside the merchandise you are guarding is far more special then you have known." Another man spoke up.

"Hey, don't speak like where things. We have our own free will ya know." Ellena said her body flowing with power, the smile had yet to leave her lips.

"Well headhunter don't you have anything to say." The leader sneered.

Miki closed her eyes. "I have nothing to worry about I see your death in the near future. You won't even be able to fire your weapons before your body falls to the ground."

The leader chuckled. "Don't listen to her men neither of them have control of their powers. Their just sitting ducks. Men prepare to fire."

Unknown to them they had been caught in Bans jagan. As they raised their arms, they found their weapons gone and their bodies wrapped in a fine string.

Ban pushed his glasses up. "Did you have a nice dream?"

Before anyone could say, any thing Ellena slice down two of them and Miki slit one of their throats.

"They would have killed you. Even they have hidden weapons." Miki explained as they gave them horrified looks.

Miki turned back to the remaining men of the group. "When you get back ask them why they don't send Roin we'd go with him. Usually they send him first. I guess something is wrong at home huh. We haven't seen any of the people in Roins group." Miki stated as she looked out the window. Dusk had long faded into night, leaving the sky a velvet-black canopy of a crescent moon and trails of glittering stars.

Pained, Miki squeezed her eyes shut, but it was not enough to stop the wave of memories crashing through her mind. She remembered the throbbing pain that had pierced into her from behind, she had been afraid to turn around to see the truth, that the enemy that had attacked her with such cold insensitivity was her childhood companion. Then, the images were gone only to leave a overpowering sense of loss.

"It is hard to forget, is it not, Miki?" Miki turned and looked down at the smiling girl.

"It is hard to forget, Ellena," Miki said a little unsteadily. "Sometimes it's too hard to forget." Suddenly both girls seemed to remember their company. Miki quickly turned around blushing. "Gomen"

Ellena smiled as she waved at the group. "She rarely has guests. So why am I tell you this…why am I even here. I have my own house. Ack I have school tomorrow how will I get there. Its three hours from here."

Miki giggled as she watched the high school girl panic. "So you'll be late, and don't even think about ditching. I'll call in for you."

A slight grumbling could be heard. "Mi-san I'm hungry." Ellena whined.

"You know where the kitchen is." Miki watched the girl bound off. "I'll need to restock the kitchen after tonight."

Miki turned back when she heard Ginji's stomach. "Go ahead eat all you want."

"Thanks." Ginji said as he bound into the kitchen.

Miki watched him go before turning back towards the others.

"He doesn't eat as much as Ellchan does he?"

"I think he'll eat twice as much." Ban replied.

Miki stared at him.

"Is that even possible? Ell eats…well lets say when she was little she could polish off an entire fridge in one sitting. Since then I have bought two extras fridges and added a few more pantries. In addition, I installed three more freezers. You sure he can out-eat her."

Miki's glaze stayed towards the kitchen. Her eyes glazed over as she tried to use her foresight.

Mean while out side of the kitchen Star slept but she suddenly awoke to a crash and voices.

"Hey that's mine."

"No its mine."

Another crash.

"Hey give that back."

"Go find your own."

"Oohh…look strawberries."

"With whip cream."

"I wonder why they're like that."

`Giggle'

"What"

"I know what there for."

"What"

"We learned it in school. Let me show you."

"Alright"

"Haha...that tickles"

"Well it's supposed to."

"Stop that…. what will they do when they find out."

"Oh be quite they wont know and it'll be fun."

"Are you sure…"

"It'll be fun. Are you afraid to try new things?"

"I guess."

"No not down there….mmm"

"Hehe"

"You better not stop."

"MMM…I won't"

"Hehe"

"Oohh."

"I should do this more often….hhmm."

"Gasp."

"I take it you like that."

"This is fun."

A loud crash echoed in the kitchen.

"Now look what you made me do."

"Oh shut up and give me that."

If one was to look closely, they could see a blush forming on the albinos face. Star quickly covered her muzzle as she relayed what she was hearing to her awaiting mistress and her new friend, Shido. She could feel the blush appearing on both of the human's faces.

Miki stood there blushing. Glancing over she noticed Shido had the same look.

"Is something wrong?" Kadsuki asked staring at their faces.

Miki quickly shook her head. "No I just think Star is misinforming us…She seems to hear something."

"What does she hear? " Ban asked.

The blush again once rose to Miki's cheeks.

"It's nothing. Just noisy neighbors."

Miki lied, as she could not help but glance towards the kitchen. She watched as a powder sugar Ginji and Ellena walked out. Both glaring at each other. Laughter broke out through the house, as Ginji and Ellena could not stop blushing. They watched as the two gluttons tried to get the sugar out of their hair.

"Ellena… (Giggle). Go take a shower and show Ginji where the other bathroom is. I guess you'll be staying quite a bit longer." Miki watched the two head upstairs arguing, trying to blame the other. "And leave your clothes in the hall so I can at least wash them… Oh Ellena watch it I doubt I could afford your medical bills again if you go haywire."

"I wouldn't do that." Ellena yelled down.

"Sure tell that to my house."

"…Bitch.'

"Love you to."

Miki went to the back of her mind to send a silent message to Ellena.

~By the way what where you and Ginji doing it the kitchen? ~

~…Nothing…Why? ~

~Well Star heard something's. ~

~Like what…~

~Umm..things.~

~Liikke...~ Ellena seemed to strain the word.

~Something about strawberries and whipped cream~

~And...~

~A moan and a sigh. ~

Miki could feel Ellena blush.

~Oh anyway… what do you think of our new friends? ~ Ellena quickly changed that subject.

~You asked. Anyhow, they seem nice and it is… Comforting to be near them. ~

Ellena raise an eyebrow.

~There is something else in your mind. What is it? ~

~Nothing~ Miki quickly scampered.

~Really…I Guess I'll just have to go deeper into your mind.~

~Ellena don't~ Miki cried, but it was too late. She could feel Ellena sorting through her thoughts.

~Hmm…what's this…NANI~

Miki couldn't help but blush.

~Its not what you think.~

~Really are you sure. Why don't I read a few of your thoughts for you.~

~Okay so maybe it is.~

~It is what it is~ Ellena smirked.

~You will not tell will you…~

~Hmm, you mean tell anyone that Miki is falling for Kadsuki. ~

~I mean it do not tell anyone not even Jess. You cannot tell any of the animals either. ~

~Why shouldn't I…~

~If you dare a picture of you and Ginji will suddenly appear in your school newspaper. Then I will tell show everyone we know. By the end of the week, the entire city will know. ~

~Good now go take a bath I have company to attend to. Do you know how hard it is to talk to you and our company at the same time? ~
