The antique train pulled slowly out of the station, the force of the steam
slowly building up enough pressure to nudge the engine into motion. The deep
green lacquer of the cars shone softly under the station lights, the glow
fading as the train headed into the night.

Quatre walked down the corridor of the train, his long coat swishing about him,
looking briefly into each compartment as he passed. He paused when he saw the
one he wanted, then entered quietly. One figure sat slumped in the seat beside
the window, watching the shadowed countryside go by at increasing speed.

Duo noted the new arrival in the reflection on the glass. He smiled, briefly
allowing himself that luxury. Then settling his own coat around him again, he
turned and offered a blandly polite smile.

Quatre smiled the same bland smile in return, though his heart warmed when he
saw Duo's dimly reflected smile. Making an effort to keep his voice just as
bland, he asked, "May I sit here?"

Their eyes met, cobalt and aqua warming. // I missed you, Duo, oh so much.//
Quatre wondered briefly what Duo had done with his braid, since it wasn't
visible amongst the businessman's clothing he wore.

"Of course. Feel free." Duo also managed the 'I'm talking to a stranger tone'
but his cobalt eyes briefly raked across Quatre's form in a decidely predatory
fashion before meeting his eyes again. //I missed you too, koi. It's been too
long.//

"Thank you." Quatre sat across from him, fighting his reaction to the almost
physical caress of Duo's eyes. //I wished so many times that you were with me, or that I was with you, that we were somewhere together.//

"So...where are you travelling to?" Duo leaned back in his seat slightly, the
relaxed posture belying the delicious tension that held sway over his body when
in the presence of Quatre, especially after their separation of several months
for their undercover missions. //I ache, lover... because I want to hold you,
and because I can't hold you right now.//

"Lake Garda. The company decided I needed a vacation." Quatre could feel
Duo's tension, and tried to soothe it. //I know, love, I know. It's such sweet
torture to be here with you, but still be separated.//

"I've heard it's quite a nice place. I'm staying over a few days to visit some
friends." Duo accepted his lover's comfort, but knew he wanted more. //It'll
be even sweeter once we're together again.//

"How...nice." Quatre barely controlled the tingling shiver of anticipation
that rushed down his spine at the hot promise in Duo's eyes. //You never
disappoint.//

"Yes. Well, you look tired, I'll let you sleep." Duo's smile was friendly.
//Rest, koi, you're going to need your strength.//

"Thanks." Quatre nodded thankfully. //Oh, you'll need yours, too, I guarantee
it, love.//

They both smiled, and then let their eyes close, imagining their reunion.
