The End of Naraku And The Beginning of Me

“It's over. It's all over.” Kagome stated out loud, shock and relief

pouring out of every word. After three years of searching and fighting. But

there was a price. Inuyasha had a baseball size whole in his stomach which

looked pretty bad and he had bruises and scratches everywhere. Miroku had

a few scratches and a pin pong ball size whole in his shoulder. Kagome

herself got lucky and only had a few scratches. Sango was in the worst

condition out of all of them. Not physically but mentally. She lost her only

family member she had left. Shippo had a few scratches and Kirara had a

sprained paw and a long cut on her side. Kagura and Kanna were still out

there somewhere but that was fine for now. The shikon jewel was finally

complete once more and hung safely around Kagome's neck. It had been just

hours ago. Night had befallen the land and Kagome sat under the god tree.

Ever since the end of the battle she felt lost. She sat there ever since she

got back and was sure everyone was all right. It just felt as if something was

missing. “Oh! Look the miko's sad. What's wrong shouldn't you be

celebrating?” “Kagura. That is not why were here.” Kanna stated

emotionlessly. Kagome stood up slinging her arrows over her shoulder and

held her bow ready in her hand. “What do you want Kagura?” Kagura gave a

low mumbled apology before turning back to Kagome. “Look we mean no harm

we came to thank you and to deliver an message.”

~Inuyasha's POV~

It had been at least hours ten since they got back from the battle of

Naraku. I looked over at my friends to check how they were doing. Sango

was talking with Keade while Miroku was sleeping by the fire. Shippo and

Kirara were sleeping on Kagome's `sleeping bag' or at least that's what she

called it. “I wonder where Kagome is she is? She's been gone a really long

time.” I glanced over at Sango after hearing this. “Ye need not worry child

she went for a walk and brought her bow and arrows with thee. Thee child

deserves some time alone to think many decisions must be made.” Keade said

while putting more wood on the fire. I got up and walked out of the hut

leaving the two to there conversation. `Kagome left? Why didn't I hear her?'

Just then I smelled the one thing I never hoped to smell again. `Naraku!'

With that I bounded off towards the scent. As I got closer I smelled

Kagome as well. “Kagome! Hold on till I get there!” But as I got closer I saw

and listened. “Oh! Look the miko's sad. What's wrong shouldn't you be

celebrating?” Then Kanna sent her younger sister a cold glance. “Kagura.

That is not why were here.” `as emotionless as ever' I thought. Then Kagura

mumbled an apology before turning back to Kagome. “Look we mean no harm

we come to thank you and to deliver a message.”
