Heal My Heart, Replace My Soul Part1- Kagome's Tale

Kagome's Tale
(Kagome's POV)
Today was the day. Today was the day that we are going to defeat Naraku. Today was the day that Inuyasha can take vengeance on Naraku for taking Kikyo's life, the day Sango can do the same, but for her brother and family, and was the day for Miroku to be released from that wretched curse Naraku placed on his family.
We all are walking in the woods. We had allies that would be with us defeating Naraku. We had Koga and his comrades, along with Koga's mate, Ayame. Koga had finally remembered his promise to her, so they became mates. Then we had Sesshomaru. He and Inuyasha finally put their differences aside. And ever since the whole Rin incident and trying to devour his body thing, Sesshomaru has been very ardent (keen) on eradicating (killing) Naraku.
I can't help but think on how this all is going to end. If Naraku loses, we complete the jewel, but what happens after? Will Inuyasha forget about me and go to Kikyo, or will he stay with me? Or during the battle, would he be killed? I really need to stop thinking such things, he wouldn't be killed.
“Are we close to there yet?” I ask. I was eager to know. So badly did I want to see Naraku take his downfall. I could see Inuyasha's head nod. Oh, this will be it. Almost there!
(Normal POV)
Kagome's face lit up. She walked a little faster to reach up to Inuyasha, her case holding the arrows plopping up and down as she did so. “Inuyasha, are you excited? I mean, this is it. This is the day Naraku gets exactly what he deserves!” Kagome was facing forward, and she had a small grin on her face. Inuyasha looked over at her. “Ah, wench, quit your yapping. There is nothing you should be smiling about.” Inuyasha always has to be such a down putter. “Sit!” Kagome screeched. That is when Koga, Ayame, their tribe, and Sesshomaru decided to show up. “Oh, what did he do this time?” Ayame asked with a hint of amusement. Kagome and Ayame had become good friends; probably all three, Sango, Kagome, and Ayame were the closest. Whenever Kagome and the gang would visit Koga's den when things weren't busy and Kagome didn't have to travel home, the girls with Shippo would relax at a nearby hot-spring and talk.
“Don't want to get into it.” Kagome had her arms over her chest, bow on the ground, head turned, and eyes shut; clearly showing she was pissed off. “Hello Sister-Kagome!” Ginta and Hakkaku yelled out. (Ok, who here does NOT love those guys? They are like the funniest when they are in the show!) “Hello, Ginta, Hakkaku,” Kagome's voice clearly showed indifference.
Inuyasha got up, but as soon as he did so…
“SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT!” Kagome screeched.
After about 10minutes, the spell wore off. As they were on their way, no one went near Inuyasha nor did they go near Kagome. Inuyasha was behind Kagome, looking like he was ready to kill HER. Kagome was mouthing sit, but didn't say it for the fact that they needed to be on their way.
They all stopped due to the fact that Naraku was near. His stench was everywhere. Inuyasha jumped in front of Kagome. She pulled out an arrow, ready to attack with a spiritual arrow. Inuyasha's sword was drawn and transformed. Sango had her giant boomerang, (what is that called again?), and Kilala was transformed. Miroku had his staff at hand along with some wards. Koga, Ayame, and their pack were all in a fighting stance. Sesshomaru had his hand on the tilt of his sword. Kagura, Kanna, and Kohaku took a step forward. Koga moved towards Kagura, Miroku took on Kanna, and Sango took on her brother.
Sango knew what she had to do. She had to kill her brother. She had no choice. She dodged Kohaku's attacks, and shot her giant boomerang at him. He blocked it off with his weapon and charged at Sango. Sango didn't have time to move, but Kilala pounced on him, and took him down. That is when he kicked Kilala off, and went back on his assault.
Miroku threw a ward at Kanna's mirror and struck it with his staff. Kanna was able to remove the ward, and tried to suck in Miroku's soul, but Kagome's spiritual arrow entered Kanna's mirror. Before, Kanna could react, another one was shot, but this time, to Kanna's head. That is when Kanna was demolished.
Kagura had stopped. She became furious that they had killed Kanna. But that stop caused her to get killed herself. Ayame had taken that as the chance to knock down Kagura and slaughter her. Kagura's body dissolve d, and the remains were gone with the wind.
They were all about to move ahead, but then they noticed Sango was still behind. “Go on with out me. I have to do this! Go defeat Naraku!” Sango yelled from behind her giant boomerang. Kilala roared, signifying, that she would protect Sango. The others ran ahead.
They all, except for Sango, came to a clearing, where Naraku stood. No, this was not a puppet. And no, he wasn't wearing his baboon pelt. “Ah, nice to see you all are still alive.” Naraku chuckled out. Next to Naraku stood Kikyo. “Yes, Inuyasha, I am surprised you made it this far.” Kikyo somewhat agreed. This made Inuyasha snarl. Still, after a year of searching for the shards, Kikyo was working for Naraku. Kikyo was working with the one that caused her colossal pain.
Sesshomaru flexed his claws, emotion of anger on his face. A few months ago, Naraku had decided to kill Rin. The Tenseiga was not able to revive Rin, and therefore, Naraku had succeeded on getting to Sesshomaru.
Before anyone knew, Kikyo and Kagome were already at it. Kikyo had an arrow ready to rip, as did Kagome. Both were wearing hard glares. “Kagome, do you honestly think it wise to be challenging me?” Kikyo asked. “Why of course, Kikyo.” Kagome replied. “Are you sure? Your aim surely isn't as precise as mine is.” Kikyo said. “Yes, well, at least I'm living, and I am not a clay pot,” Kagome retorted, “and besides, if my aim is off, I know I will hit you, just matters where.” This caused Kikyo to get angry, and she put more spiritual power into her arrow. Seeing Kikyo do this, Kagome did the same.
Kikyo thought Kagome was naïve to do this. `That girl should not be challenging me.' Kikyo thought arrogantly. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts for once she didn't hear Kagome yell `GO TO HELL!' And she didn't see the arrow that was headed straight for her. With that, Kikyo was dead, and the jewel shards she had, flew out, and landed on the soft grass.
Before anyone good had time to go get the shards, Naraku had sent out a tentacle for it.
It was a long hard battle. Sango and Kilala had yet to show up, but they didn't think they were done battling, because they didn't see Kohaku either.
Everyone was all engraved up. Naraku even held many deep gashes. “Everyone move out of my way!” Inuyasha told everyone. They could sense his sword was getting powered up. “I am going to end this for once and for all! BACKLASH WAVE!” Inuyasha jumped up and brought down his sword. Gusting winds came. And a big powered light came forth, headed for Naraku.
When all the smoke was cleared out, they saw Naraku. Everyone was in total shock. If the backlash wave didn't kill Naraku, what else of a chance did they have?
Naraku started to laugh vituperatively. “Inuyasha, did you honestly think you could defeat me?” Naraku ridiculed. His malicious laugh soon ended to a pain filled cry as a spiritual arrow hit him. It didn't kill him, but it did injure him badly.
“Shut your trap Naraku. I'm sick of you and I am here to make you pay for what you have done!” Kagome shouted as she got ready to notch another arrow at him. More gusting winds came, but they had surrounded everyone that was in the open field. Birds flew away, sensing the danger to come. Some demons were attracted to this, and came to see something that was shocking. It was Naraku! And he was being killed!
Kagome's arrow had more than half of Kagome's real power in it. Kagome, thinking that would be enough, let it loose. Right after that though, Kagome let out another energy filled spiritual arrow after that. Naraku didn't die, but he was now missing an arm and a leg. But knowing well that he still had tentacles, the group knew that wasn't really a great shot.
Two more hours went by. No sign of Sango, Kilala, or even Kohaku. The battle was becoming to seem like IMPOSSIBLE. Naraku wouldn't die. Half of Koga's comrades were dead, Miroku had gotten killed, and poor Shippo was killed. He had been hiding behind a tree watching the fight, and Naraku had gotten knocked into that area, and killed Shippo. This made Kagome cry her eyes out, and she somehow managed to obtain more energy in her arrows than last time.
Sesshomaru was worn out. Inuyasha had tried the backlash wave, and at the same time, Kagome had shot a spiritual arrow, and Sesshomaru had used his swords power as well. That three-in-one combo didn't work.
Everyone heard a swooshing noise and quickly parted as they saw a huge boomerang hit one of Naraku's tentacles. At the top of a near by knoll stood Sango along with Kilala. Sango didn't look to good, and Kilala was bleeding profusely in the side.
Sango caught her giant boomerang, and fell to her knees. She had an angered look on her face, and was breathing hard. Kilala roared in anguish. So, Kohaku was dead. Sango's anger quickly melted into sadness as she spotted a certain dead monk lying on the crimson grass. Sango stood up and glared unadulterated (pure) hate at Naraku.
With Sango back, the fight started up again.
Another three hours past. Sesshomaru had actually been killed. He had taken 7blows to the chest, before he was torn apart. Surprisingly, Inuyasha had looked even more pissed. This was probably because they had finally come to each others aid, and were finally acting how brothers should.
So Sesshomaru was dead, Shippo was dead, Kohaku was dead, Miroku was dead, and all that was left were Inuyasha, Koga, Ayame, Sango, Kilala, and Kagome. Another tentacle shot out from Naraku. It was soaring over the bloody ground, and it stabbed right through Kilala. Blood splattered as Kilala made a noise like no other she has ever made. It was high pitched, and pain sang out of Kilala.
Naraku's tentacle slit through Kilala and then shredded through Sango's body. She was cut in half, and mutually sides fell with a `thump'. Kagome let out a cry of sorrow. She couldn't believe her baby was deceased, that pervert Miroku was dead, and her best friend was lifeless.
Kagome shot several more spiritual arrows towards Naraku. Oh, how badly she despised him even more at this moment. Each one wounded Naraku more, but it still wasn't enough to kill him.
Ayame had made a wrong move, and ended up landing badly. Before Koga or Inuyasha could get to her, Naraku devoured her. They knew she wasn't alive anymore, due to the fact that he ate her head first, then her body, then her lower half of her body. Some bones and skin tissue came flying out. Blood had splattered. It was all over Naraku's mouth. He was able to stretch his mouth to any size he wanted. So it was easy for him to eat Ayame.
Koga let tears come out freely. That was his mate. This hurt worse than when his pack was murdered by Naraku. This hurt worse than when his comrades one year ago were mercilessly slaughtered by this bastard. Koga charged at Naraku. Koga slashed his other arm. But as we already know, that was not really considered an accomplishment.
Inuyasha tried the backlash wave again. He was so desperate to eradicate Naraku. Once again, Naraku invigorated, and became one again. Koga was just going on blind rage. This got him murdered too.
Kagome let out a wail. This couldn't be possible! Everyone around her was dead that she cared for. She just couldn't help but the thought of-.
Inuyasha was to slow. He was aiming for the heart, and didn't see the four tentacles coming from behind. He cried out. He told Kagome to run, go home, and then all was silent. Kagome was on her knees sobbing. `Inu-yasha. No, you can't be dead!' Kagome thought frantically.
`Naraku will pay for everything he's done!' Kagome's energy had sky-rocketed. `Naraku will die for killing my love!' Kagome took out another arrow. She noticed, due to her energy level, there were many demons watching. `They will witness Naraku's TRUE DEMISE!' Kagome thought as she powered up her arrow with every ounce of spiritual energy she had. Naraku just stood there. He realized just then, he was as good as dead.
“Naraku, you are a GOD DAMN SCUM BAG PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT!” Kagome screeched. She was way pissed. She let the arrow go. It seemed time has stopped as the arrow traveled its way towards to its target, Naraku.
The arrow hit Naraku dead straight in the heart. He was dissipated. Kagome wasn't done yet. She walked over to where Naraku's ashes were. She put her hand in it and pulled out his large portion of the jewel. Then Kagome walked over to where Koga's body was and took out his two jewel shards. Then Kagome went over to Sango's shredded detached form. Kagome took that jewel shard. (Ok, remember, Sango killed her brother WHO HAD A SHARD IN HIS BACK! So, Sango had to collect it.)
Kagome morphed the jewel into one piece. The jewel became instantly purified. With that, Kagome walked to Kaede's village, which, surprisingly, wasn't far from the battle. Probably only a five minute walk.
Kagome reached Kaede and told her what had happened. Kagome stayed for her friends' burials. Koga and Ayame's `brothers and sisters' from the north, south, and east came to the burial, too. Jaken came to the burial. After all, it was his Lord who was being buried.
After Kagome paid her respects, she bid Kaede farewell and left. She left to never return to the feudal ages of Japan.
Kagome fell into a great depression ever since she had gotten home. She had been home for over four months. Sure, she still went to school, but that was different. She stopped talking to everyone. And to make matters worse, two months after she had returned home, her grandfather died. He had had a heart attack. Kagome's three friends saw no point in talking to Kagome anymore, due to the fact she shunned them first. Hojo lost all interest in Kagome because she wasn't herself. She was wearing all black, and clothes from Hot Topic. She was sort of Goth if you thought about it.
Kagome finally gave up school. No, she didn't drop out. Her mom had to get her a teacher to home school her. That didn't seem to help much. Kagome never smiled, never laugh, nor did she really respond. Kagome did do her `school work', but other than that, she was lazy, if you could call it that. She did eat, she kept her same appetite, but dinner wasn't the same anymore. It was now usually just her and her mother, due to the fact her grandfather is dead, and Souta had a social life.
Now, a little about Souta. He was sometimes sad, usually when he would let his mind drift to Kagome and how she acts or when he drifts his thoughts to his grandfather. But Souta still kept himself in check, and was still happy. After all, wouldn't you be happy if you had a girlfriend? Yep, that's right; our thirteen year-old Souta had a girlfriend named Suzume. (Say-zoo-me). She cared and loved Souta a lot.
Okay, back to our dear depressed miko, Kagome. Currently, it was a Friday. Kagome's tutor just left. It was beginning of Summer break, and she was to have her cousin and some of his friends coming over in two days. Last time she saw her cousin she was five. He used to run into walls thinking he could go right through them, and he would often talk about some old ghost lady haunting his dreams. She used to chase him with a knife claiming he was selfish for not wanting to donate his kidney or liver or something. Funny thing was, the adults thought this was funny until she actually caught him and accidentally stabbed him.
Thinking back to this, Kagome ALMOST smiled. But nope, she didn't let one grace her face, instead she frowned. Her cousin had an older sister, but she wasn't going to be coming.
Okay, this is the end of Part1 of the Heal My Heart, Replace My Soul series.
Yay! This was a big pain in my ass! Lol.
