`This is beyond wrong.' Kagome thought as she stared at his front door. Her dinner with her family had been slow but very nice, like every other evening she had spent with them while she was growing up. Finally, the moment got near and Kagome told her mother her plans before going out the door. She walked towards his house which wasn't far away from hers, when she got to the main gate of his house she chickened out. Her mind told her it was wrong but her heart was jumping in excitement, eager to see Inuyasha again. Kagome took a deep breath as she decided whether she should go in or leave now that she had the chance, `I could say that something I ate gave me a stomach ache and that I couldn't make it… but then he would ask me to come again, why did I even agree to this?' she panicked and sighed. `He said it would be only as friends, no other feelings attached so I have nothing to worry about… it would be like having dinner with Sango.' Kagome knocked on the door and immediately Inuyasha opened it, she couldn't help to notice that he wasn't wearing a shirt. `Yeah, only if Sango was a sexy as he is without his shirt…' She thought as she tried her best not to blush, she failed.
“I'm sorry, I was swimming in the pool and I forgot about changing afterwards. Come in.” He invited and she was stunned at the house, it was very normal but at the same time it was completely modern. “I'll go change.”
Kagome nodded as she took one last look at his bare chest, it was sun kissed and with very well developed abs something that she liked a lot. She was thankful he left since she was now very flushed in a deep red color, Kagome desperately tried to push that image away but it was impossible. She heard him coming down stairs and the thought of him realizing how much she had gawked at him made her scared, which erased every trace of redness from her face.
“Okay, I made something tonight after I had dinner and I thought we could eat it with a glass of wine.” Inuyasha said now that he wore jeans and a lose t-shirt.
“That sounds great, what's for dessert?” Kagome asked as she went to the kitchen, Inuyasha followed her behind and she saw a beautiful tiramisu cake. “That looks delicious, where did you learn to do that?”
“I took very expensive pastry lessons back when I was young; I learned to do many different types of desserts and I also learned how to prepare wedding cakes and snacks for special occasions.” He acknowledged as he sliced two pieces for them, Kagome took one plate as she looked at the sweet cake with temptation in her eyes.
“I bet it's good, after all you're the `best chef' in town.” Kagome said and Inuyasha caught her quotation marks, he smiled and served to glasses of red wine.
“You try that and then you get rid of the sarcasm.” Inuyasha decided as he handed her a glass, Kagome sat on his living room next to him and took the first bite. It was a slice of heaven sweetened up.
“Inuyasha, this is very delicious…” Kagome said as she took another bit, she grunted in delight. “You should give me your recipe.”
“So, what made you come in?” Inuyasha asked, Kagome nearly choked with wine.
“Excuse me?” She replied once she was okay, he smiled.
“I saw you pacing next to my gate, you seemed to be very indecisive about coming inside. What convinced you to come in?” He asked curiously, Kagome smiled a bit embarrassed.
“Well, at first I thought that maybe I shouldn't come in because I was doubting your words… but then I thought that I would have a good time so I just knocked on your door and here I am, eating the most scrumptious tiramisu I've ever had.” Kagome lied a bit; he nodded as he ate some of his own dessert.
“Where's Kouga? I was surprised when I didn't see him coming.” Inuyasha said and finished his glass of wine, Kagome looked at him confused.
“The invitation was for me and Kouga?” Inuyasha nodded. “Inuyasha, I came all over here by myself… Kouga is back at home.”
“I thought that when you said that you came here to visit your family I thought you came with him, it's almost his family too… right?” Kagome sighed heavily and finished her slice of dessert; she placed the plate on the table and grabbed the glass of wine in her hands.
“I practically ran away from him, I needed a break from all the wedding issues and there's nothing more that I would have like than to visit my family.” Kagome grinned lightly before finishing her wine. Inuyasha walked back to the kitchen, placing the plates and glasses on the sink.
“Tell me something about yourself, something that no one knows…” Inuyasha pleaded, Kagome thought about it for a second.
“I don't like eating most of the things I cook.” Kagome answered and laughed, Inuyasha shook his head with a smirk.
“No, I meant something that only you know.” Kagome thought about it for a second, she looked back at him and smiled.
“I love tiramisu dessert, wait I'm not done yet.” She replied before he could say anything. “I love the way you cut onions and never cry and I especially love the way you frown when you concentrate while cooking.”
“I do that?” He asked astonished, Kagome nodded and giggled. “Okay, it's time for you to know my secret about onions.”
“Really?” Kagome asked surprised, Inuyasha nodded and gestured with his finger for her to come closer.
“The secret is…” He whispered carefully, Kagome watched him with her eyes intensively and he smirked. “There's no secret, a real man never cries… it's just as simple as that.”
“You're telling me you've never cried?” Kagome asked with disbelief, he nodded sure. “Not even when you dog died or when were extremely angry or… never?”
“Never, I never had a dog either.” Kagome laughed and he reclined back on the couch as he realized he was too close to her.
“Thank you for tonight, I haven't laughed like that in a while…” She said as she relaxed in his couch, Inuyasha smiled please and moved closer to her.
“What do you mean by that?” Inuyasha asked and Kagome sighed.
“I've been under so much pressure because of my wedding, don't get me wrong I do feel ready it's just that… I feel insecure; so many things have happened lately that now I'm confused.” She said leaning her head on his shoulder, Inuyasha quickly enveloped an arm around her and she smiled lightly at the warmth and comfort his body brought her.
“Kagome, I'm sure the answer lies in your heart. Just try to hear it before you make any decision.” Inuyasha whispered against her ear, he kissed her forehead and Kagome got away from his grasp.
They stared at each other for a few minutes; neither of them was uncomfortable with each other's gaze. They were grateful for the silence since they both knew what he had meant with those words. Kagome quickly got back into his embrace, Inuyasha welcomed her as his heart bumped against his chest. She smiled slightly as she hugged him tighter, Kagome closed her eyes as she heard the silence flowing in the room, Inuyasha held her tight against him as if he was never going to let her go.
“Do you think that, in a bizarre parallel universe, we could be together?” Inuyasha asked after a while, Kagome simply smiled against his chest.
“In that parallel universe, I would have already been married to you.” She let out unconsciously as she slowly yawned, Inuyasha smiled brightly but melancholically.
“In this universe, only you can tell me something so sweet and already be sleeping.” Inuyasha said before kissing her forehead and shut his eyes, waiting for her to be dreaming about him because he was sure he would do the same.

“You haven't broken up with him yet?” Miroku asked jealously.
Miroku went to Sango's apartment a few days of keeping their flirting and kisses during the day but at night she would act as if nothing was happening. He wanted to surprise her when he found Hiten on the door too, waiting for her. Sango quickly came out to see that the two of them were looking at each other as if they were ready to kill each other. She was about to go back inside when Miroku asked her the dreadful question. She didn't know what to answer; she hadn't spoken to Hiten in days because she didn't have the courage to break up with him. After all, he had been so sweet to her after Miroku had pushed her away for another girl.
“What is he talking about Sango?” Hiten asked confused, they were having some sort of staring contest.
“Listen guys… I…”
“So, you haven't yet? I should have known that… it's just like with Inuyasha.” Miroku mumbled and looked away. “I feel like a dork.”
“No, don't!” Sango said embarrassed, she took a deep breath. “Guys, this is my entire fault because I've been avoiding this subject… yes, I've been going out with both of you and I like you two very much.”
“You said you loved me.” Miroku reminded her, Sango nodded and smiled.
“Yeah and that's why…” She turned to Hiten and looked at him with some sadness in her eyes. “I'm sorry, but I have to break up with you.”
“That's fine Sango; I came over here to tell you something… I'm dating someone else too.” Sango looked surprised.
“You are?” He nodded and looked back at Miroku.
“I met her when we went out the first time… it's actually the girl he was dating, she broke up with him to go out with me and I thought I should do the same.” Sango smiled and hugged him for a while. “I've got to go now, thanks for everything.”
“Bye,” she breathed out and stared at him as he walked away, Miroku chuckled. “What's so funny?”
“I was about to break up with you because I thought you were trying to pull out the same stunt you did a few months ago.” Sango rolled her eyes.
“How many times do you need to hear me say that I love you?” Miroku smiled and kissed her lips lightly.
“As many times as possible.” She smiled and kissed him back. “How about we go out tonight? I heard about this great chef that has a good meal prepared for us.”
“Oh really? Is he as handsome as you are?” Sango asked playfully and he nodded.
“I say it's a tie.” Sango laughed and gave him another kiss before they went to his home and have dinner.

Kagome uncomfortably moved around, she opened her eyes and discovered herself in a strange place. She sniffed the air and caught a sweet smell in her nose before she remembered what happened last night. Kagome discovered herself on Inuyasha's couch, covered with a blanket. She was about to get up and walk out the door before he could catch her but Inuyasha showed up with a tray of food on his hands. Kagome plastered a smile on her face although she just wanted to get out of his house. She looked at the food he had prepared for her and she could tell he had made a lot of effort into cooking it, it was an egg omelet perfectly fried with French toasts on the side. The smell she caught earlier was of a sweet mocaccino prepared by no other than him, she saw two mugs of that and realized one was for him.
“I made it just for you, drink it while it's hot… its better that way.” He encouraged and Kagome nodded as she took a sip, she immediately put it back.
“Did I really spend the night here?” Kagome asked with disbelief, Inuyasha shook his head.
“No, I kidnapped you this morning so you could have breakfast with me.” She covered her face with her hands and he looked at her with worry. “Are you okay?”
“My mother is going to kill me.” Inuyasha laughed.
“Relax; you're not a teenager so your mother wasn't that worried about you when she called.” Kagome pulled away her hands and looked at him shocked.
“You… called my mother?” She asked and he shook his head again.
“No, she called you.” He replied as he pointed at her cell phone that was resting on his table. “She was right to be preoccupied, you said you weren't going to take long and here you are.” Kagome immediately got up and ran towards the door, Inuyasha stopped her. “What are you doing?”
“I have to go, I'm sorry but if yesterday's date was wrong then this…” Inuyasha softly placed his hand against her mouth to stop her.
“Kagome, it's only wrong if you think it is but we're doing nothing to put ourselves in risk. Now, please sit down and have breakfast with me.” Kagome surrendered and walked with him back to his couch.
Inuyasha was in silence next to her as she munched her breakfast quickly, Kagome couldn't help but to be bumpy against his sight. She drank some of her coffee before she harshly placed back the mug and looked at him.
“What?” She nearly yelled as Inuyasha smiled.
“Am I making you uncomfortable?” He asked as he kept on grinning, Kagome wanted to hit him for being arrogant.
“If I kept on looking at you, you would feel the same.” She explained and he smiled wider.
“If you kept on looking at me, I would feel lucky.” Kagome couldn't help but to smile, Inuyasha placed his mug on the table. “Tell me something, what do you think about my food?”
“I think you're a great chef but if you weren't so sure about yourself, you might be able to be better.” Kagome admitted, he kissed her cheek sweetly and grabbed the plates to put them in the kitchen. Inuyasha came back. “Thanks for breakfast; it's nice to have someone cook for you… as deliciously as you cook.”
“You're welcome and now there's something that I need to get out of my chest.” Kagome nodded intrigued and he took a deep breath. “He's not good enough for you and neither am I… but I would try my best to make you happy.”
“Inuyasha… this isn't fair.” She reminded him; Inuyasha let a sad smile on his face.
“I know it isn't, but it isn't fair to keep us waiting for your answer… Kouga isn't blind and I'm sure he knows what's going on in your mind; you're that hard to read. Just please, don't keep us waiting.” He pleaded; Kagome tried to restrain her tears and faked a smile before kissing his lips in softly.
“I promise this won't take me long but you have to let me decide, I ran away from there to think and here you are making me think again.” Kagome said and got up. “I really should go now.”
“I understand.” He replied almost instantly, he heard the door close and Inuyasha knew she left.
